Artifex glances down at the satyr's tattoos, recognition seeming to glint in their eyes for a moment. "Such beautiful designs... Do you do your own tattoos faern?" It looks at Tiquisy, genuine curiosity in their eyes, as it absentmindedly trace one of their own tattoos, the one on its forearm, the alchemical symbol for earth.
Glancing down at Artifex' tattoo, the satyr raises one eyebrow, then winks. "I do, and I also collect rare and interesting needles that make the process so much more ... effective. Those are QUITE expensive, though, and I sincerely doubt even Mr. Leewamba would go so far as to finance even part of the cost of one, However ... I do sometimes arrange with traveling colleagues such as yourself to help procure very rare commodities that are not obtainable without considerable risk, and they have always considered needles from my collection a more than adequate reward. In addition, of course, to full paid expenses and compensation for any companions who might assist them in the endeavour. I'd imagine Mr. Leewamba will have plenty of employment to occupy you for some time, if I know him, which I do, but that would also give you an opportunity to sharpen your skills in preparation. for whatever might be in the wind by then."
The Black Rose nodded to the others, "I hope we do not regret it," then turned to the door. But then, he turned back again and said, "Oh, we almost forgot." The Black Rose put 4 gold pieces on the counter and asked, "Can I get as many rations as I can for this?"
"Oh, I can give you at least a fortnight's rations for this.," Tiquisy responds. "A twelveday's, if you don't mind taking the ones that really have to be used not too much later than that."
Artifex chuckles, nodding their head. "You are quite right, such a valuable item would not apply to our arrangement with Mr. Leewamba. And I certainly wouldn't be opposed to that plan, depending on how risky the endeavor would be... What do you guys think?" They ask, looking questioningly at the others?
"What is special about those needles? Do they cause less pain? Do they result in better tattoos?" The Black Rose asked. "I apologize for all the questions, but I am just curious as to why they have such a high price," The Black Rose explained.
"Well the ones I recon she's referring too are a sight more powerful than my own." As they talk, Artifex reaches into its pocket, pulling out a small pebble, holding it to their tattoo and softly saying "Faer'Nar". It's tattoo and the stone briefly glow a pale blue color before returning to normal, and Artifex hands the stone to The Black Rose. "For about the next minute throwing that rock will be just as good as throwing a punch. Better even, if your not too physically inclined" they say with a chuckle
"With the tech she's talking about, the power would be coming from the actual tattoo, rather than from me. It's sorta... Techno-organic! I've come across it in a few worlds."
"Ah, a techno-organic tattoo, you say?" The Black Rose exclaimed excitedly. "You have captured my interest, my friend, and I would like to invest in your project with my share of the stipend. Additionally, if I may, I would like to assist you in developing those tattoos."
Tarton pokes his head in the shop and says, "No trouble so far out here." He flips 2 gold cyfreith to Erolith and says, "Will you buy me as much rations as this will buy? Thanks." Then closes the door and continues his watch from outside.
Tiquisy accepts the coin with a smile and hands out twelve days of rations. Then she bows courteously to Artifex. "I am DELIGHTED you're interested in my offer. We certainly have much to discuss when you return."

Gathering together once more, you continue down to Glynogan's smithy. The sun has risen enough by the time you get there to create a pool of warm and comfortable honey-colored light in a small outdoor alcove created by the two protruding wings of the building. In the center of this, a large and well-tended anvil rests in the place of honor atop perhaps the largest stump of beech you have ever seen. This latter has been lovingly carved into a many-footed pedestal, each root twining its separate intricacy of carved vines, tendrils, tiny beasts and flowers, and other forms down to where the artist who made it splayed it out or spliced in more wood to create a branching foot. The smith, a heavily muscled human male, is sitting before this on a three-legged stool shaping five bars of steel that he had previously twisted together into a long leaf-shaped blade. At least, you think he's human. The strange bronze shimmer of his pupils as he raises his head and nods to you does leave you wondering a little though ...
Erolith steps forward and bows low. “Well met! We have been sent by Mr. Leewamba who highly recommends your services. My name is Erolith Nightshade and we seek items to help us prepare for a trip to the north hills.”

"It is a deal!" The Black Rose responded. "Give me twelve days' worth of rations then."
Artifex chuckles, nodding their head. "You are quite right, such a valuable item would not apply to our arrangement with Mr. Leewamba. "Well that's two people interested... What sorts of materials would you need us to gather?" Artifex asks Tiquisy
Tarton pokes his head in the shop and says, "No trouble so far out here." He flips 2 gold cyfreith to Erolith and says, "Will you buy me as much rations as this will buy? Thanks." Then closes the door and continues his watch from outside.
Erolith was almost exiting the shop when Tarton flips him two gold pieces. He turns back towards the counter with a wry smile.
“I’ll take 4gp worth of rations for me and my friend,” and he includes 2gp from his own pouch.
”Are we still comparing tattoos,” he asks with a wink.
Tiquisy accepts the coin with a smile and hands out twelve days of rations. Then she bows courteously to Artifex. "I am DELIGHTED you're interested in my offer. We certainly have much to discuss when you return."

“Adventures, I would like to visit the other storekeep before we travel north. Shall we,” Erolith asks.
"Let's do it," The Black Rose said as he placed his rations into his backpack.
Artifex follows the others, absentmindedly tracing another tattoo on their arm.

Excellent! I’m anxious to get started. I feel like this will be quite good.
