Arti responds to the spear with a grunt but is not bitten by the frog. She reacts to the giant frog with a grunt and swings with her warhammer at the same time.
Zladark sprang to the side, muscles coiling as he narrowly avoided the giant frog’s lashing tongue. The slick, wet sound of it striking empty air echoed faintly in the chaos of the skirmish. Without missing a beat, he shifted his weight, planting one foot firmly on the uneven ground, quarterstaff gripped tightly in one hand.
He yelled back to Tarton, "Glad to hear that you have my back!" His voice rang with genuine relief and camaraderie. Drawing on the practiced fluidity of his monk training, Zladark prepared to launch his next strike. He adjusted his stance, centering his balance, and raised the quarterstaff, ready to exploit any opening as the frog tensed for another attack. Each breath came slow and steady, his mind focused on the immediate moment, every muscle poised to deliver a decisive counterstrike. -----------------------------
I thought it was okay for me to post if I was hit and grappled, as well as to answer Tarton. I will post what I do when it becomes my turn.
Before the next round begins, please everyone who is on the river side of the log (with/including Tarton, Arti, etc.) please make a Perception roll at DC14
Sorry, it got swallowed up by the following part of the post. Its just before the long string of initiatives on the preceding page
After an eternity of moments the bubbling trail comes within five feet of the boats. Since no violent reaction immediately ensues, a long green arm ending in a webbed hand breaks the water. If Uz does nothing at this point to reveal himself prematurely, a froglike head and humanoid body follow as the creature finds its depth and begins to get footing on the rapidly rising bottom near the bank. Behind it a second slightly taller form begins to break the water; at a gesture from the lead frog-thing it crouches back down until it is all below the surface again. But it is close enough Uzcan see it quite clearly hunkered on the bottom cradling a rapier that looks to be made of some strange green horn or chitin. Initiative roll sil vous plait from Uz.
=====
Bullywug #1s initiative 10
Bullywug #2s initiative 7
EDIT: EDIT: As more of the lead bullywug becomes evident, Uz sees that it is steadying itself by leaning on a trident; and he is nearly sure he sees the bunched cords of a net tied into a bundle with a quick knot and strapped at its waist.
I kinda lost track of whos up and where everyone is, so a refresh on the map would be helpful
Blue squigglez = Artifex'grease; remaining duration 8 rounds
As you and the frog-people both steady yourselves for another exchange of blows, Arti and Tarton both realize that a noise they thought had been coming from the log was in fact echoing off it and actually came from the pathway whence they had come. This is in a sense reassuring, since logs don't tend to emit soft splashing and grunting noises that sound like a creature emerging from the water; and Tarton in particular was beginning to have horrible visions of all sorts of strange grub-creatures all controlled by the spider-demon of his nightmares. On the other hand, noises of creatures emerging from the water wafting up the path from the clearing where the party left its boats might not be all that reassuring after all. But just then ... @!

(WIP) I'd be comfortable folding both combats back into one now that there's some awareness on the scouts' part of what's happening with Uz; presuming OC that everyone feels OK keeping track of who's by the log and who's by the boats. For simplicity's sake let's say it will take any character one action of their round to get within missile/spell range of the other area (starting from the 'path' boundary of that area's map ... I'm still vworking on the map for Uz's cove, will post when complete); and one full round's worth of action/BA to close to melee range in the other area. In any case, the strikes of Tarton and Arti ended this round, so we're at the top of the third,
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The two remaining frog-things begin to look very dubious about the proposition they have gotten themselves into; then their sharp ears pick up the sounds that Tarton and Arti also detected, They twist their puffed-out cheeks about in an unsuccessful attempt to not look secretly jubilant. Then, chortling to themselves, they attack the companion they are closest to. The frog-thing attacking Arti continues to use its spear in the normal fashion; but the one facing Zladark, after it strikes with the point, flicks the butt of its spear towards him and thumbs a depression in the shaft, A cap twists aside from the butt of the spear; and a weighted and hooked net shoots out at the intrepid monk! And as Arti tries to call out a warning her own opponent lunges out suddenly after its spear thrust and tries to bite her.
=========
Bullywug #1:
spear vs. Arti 10; damage if hits 5 piercing
bite vs. Arti 19; damage if hits 2 bludgeoning
Bullywug #2:
spear vs. Zladark 8; damage if hits 5 piercing
net vs. Zladark 8; damage if hits 3 piercing PLUS DC 11 DEX save to avoid the Restrained condition until he escapes with a DC10 STR roll (taking an additional 3 piercing damage from the hooks each time he tries to escape

Gwrgi does not seem to hear the sounds from the riverside, though she is closer to them than those who did (Perception in log: 12). Perhaps that is because she is too intent on drawing her crossbow and putting a bolt through Arti's attacker before it can do more harm ...

Now that the rider is off the giant frog, Tarton immediately takes advantage of the frogman's gloating distraction and the fact that the attack was focused on Arti to deliver a deep stab to the gut with his shortsword.
"You're lookin' a bit distracted... Think you've won now your friends have finally shown up do ya'?" Tarton says to the frogman he's now skewered.
As he pulls his sword out, he turns to Arti and says, "I'll leave him and those at the boats to you and the others until I'm done helping The Black Rose."
Using Cunning Action (bonus action) to Disengage, he climbs the log from where he's at, being ready for the grubs if they attack again, and jumps off it to move to the Bullywug attacking The Black Rose.
-------------------------------------------------- Shortsword vs Bullywug E: 18; if hits 10 + 5 sneak attack (piercing)
I think Tarton can reach the Bullywug, >5' climb for 10' movement and 15' to the Bullywug.
Zladark braced himself, confident in his stance and ready for any of the frog-like creature’s next move. But just as he thought himself prepared for anything, the creature thrust its spear forward with a speed and force that caught him completely off guard. The spearhead drove into his side, piercing his flesh and drawing blood. A sharp gasp escaped his lips, and he gritted his teeth against the pain, his body trembling from the impact.
The frog-like creature didn’t stop there. With a calculated flick of its wrist, it spun the spear, sending the butt end careening towards him. Before Zladark could react, he heard a faint click as the creature thumbed a depression in the spear’s shaft. A small cap twisted aside, and suddenly, a weighted, hooked net shot out from the butt of the weapon, sailing toward him with deadly precision.
At the last possible second, Zladark twisted his body and dodged out of the way, narrowly avoiding being ensnared by the net. However, as it passed, the sharp hooks at its edges grazed his leg, cutting deep into his flesh. He stumbled slightly, a growl of pain escaping his throat. Now, blood dripped steadily from his side and leg, soaking into his yellow robes. He steadied himself, gripping his quarterstaff tightly, refusing to fall despite the pain wracking his body.
Breathing heavily, Zladark steadied himself, his determination etched into his face despite the searing pain in his side and leg. Slowly, he let his free arm slide into the small bag strapped to his right hip, his fingers expertly finding what he needed amidst the chaos of the fight. His hand closed around a syringe he had prepared earlier—its design simple but effective.
With a swift and practiced motion, he drew it from the bag, the liquid within catching the sunlight as he held it up briefly. The contents shimmered with the soft, rosy hue of rose petals, as the light refracting like a beacon amidst the battle. Without hesitation, he stabbed the needle into his side near the open wound and pressed the plunger all the way down, injecting the entire dose of the restorative concoction.
As the liquid entered his body, a wave of warmth spread from the wound outward, soothing the searing pain that had nearly overtaken him. Slowly but surely, the torn flesh began to knit itself back together, the bleeding stemmed as the alchemical remedy worked its magic. Zladark took a deep, steadying breath, the agony receding into a manageable throb.
“That feels better,” he murmured beneath his breath, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips. With his wounds mending and his strength returning, he tightened his grip on his quarterstaff and prepared to rejoin the fight.
Both attacks hit, but with a Dex save of 21, Zladark dodges out of the way of the net. I think it is my turn; if not, sorry for posting in advance. Zladark casts Cure Wounds (the spell granted by his Artificer Initiate feat) in the form of a healing injection, healing himself for 10 HP. That is all for Zladark's turn.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tarton easily leaps over the feeble spittle of webbing which the few remaining grubs squirt at him. Using the momentum from his vault, he tumbles towards the bullywug who is just standing and cursing its ill luck as the seemingly blind human it thought it had trapped twists agilely out of its net. Next moment the halfling's sword pierces through the creature's back and it lets out a truly ungodly sounding, gurgling croak before slumping to the muddy ground a few feet away from its unconscious comrade. As he follows through on the attack Tarton can hear the roar of Arti's warhammer swooping through the air. She is clearly about to deliver a mighty blow to the unconscious frog lying before her; but before he notices the effect one way or the other his attention is drawn by Artifex as the lithe eladrin ...

Arti will instead run to The Black Rose and then use a utilize action to raise her shield to defend him.
Don’t know if this action is allowed because Arti doesn’t have protection fighting style, but will make a saving throw if necessary.
Zenzor will on his turn chill touch on the freeing one if possible. (24 to hit 8 damage rolls in log)
