At hearing the name Dobbian, Ardana visibly becomes more comfortable.
"Where is dobbian now? I would love to hear the song."
Ardana removes her cloak, and the shield underneath it, with the weapons attached, and lays them on top of one of the chests, sitting in a nearby chair.
"I think I could have one of those ales after all."
Daisy takes one the mugs of ale from Thai. "Thank you, dear," she downs half the drink with a satisfying gulp.
"Oh, you poor thing. There, there,"Daisy says, patting Martha's hand. "I know full-well what you are going through. I'm looking for my Gare, too!" She pauses to take another sip of the ale. "He wrote you song...! How sweet! Let's hear it, hon, and then you can tell us what he's needing saving from."
Martha was apparently waiting for nothing more than the slightest nod; so she nonchalantly ignores Ilwythe's question and as soon as Ardana and Daisy show interest in the song she promptly begins to hum it, enthusiastically, even if not in a tone, smiling at obviously pleasant memories and moved at the end:
"I'll be the father of your child. I'll lead your horses through grass and wild. I know your few fears and you know the many mines. Your family doubts, but we'll be fine! And I love you, I swear that's true... From now on, I can't live without you."
"Beautiful, right?" she furtively dries her tears of emotion "And... he composed it for me! He dedicated it to me!"
Finally she leans towards Daisy and embraces her: "I'm so sorry about your Gare! Before you leave, give his description to Thia, if you like... she'll pass the word on to my ranchers. If one of mine sees (or hears of) someone matching the description they will tell me!"
Thia meanwhile hurries to fetch a mug of ale for Ardana as well.
Meanwhile, Martha has finished immersing herself in the memories of her Dobbian and begins to answer last Ardana's question... 'Where is dobbian now'...
She starts, with a deep sigh: "I was saying that you must save him. Because... Yes, now I must tell you what happened. You will have understood by now that my family is not exactly thrilled with him. Well, during that bloody dinner on Hammer 23," the young woman is clenching her fists in anger "five bloody days ago, during a heated argument with my cousin Tharby and her husband Adran, who insisted on calling him an 'opportunist who didn't deserve the luck that had befallen him', my poor Dobbian became so inflamed that he choked on a large mouthful of bread, suffocating to death before someone could save him!"
"In short," the young woman is staring at you with her brown eyes, as if studying your reaction "he is dead. And I confess to you that, for a moment, I almost thought of killing myself, of following him in that fate".
"But of course not!" she again slams a fist on the bed "That's not what should be done! Now that I've just found the love of my life and that I have his child in my womb, I certainly can't give up at the first difficulties! We will save him!" and her eyes are fixed again intensely in those of each of you, as if to convey to you the same unshakable conviction that animates her "Or rather, you will".
"It shouldn't be difficult," (yes, she is not joking as she says it) "I had a divination done that gave me some information. I know there is a means to save him. I have a general idea of the location. But I know that we will have to hurry, to act quickly, within a few days. And that there may be 'some risk' associated with the recovery of said 'means'".
"And I, in my state," she slowly passes a hand over her pregnant belly "unfortunately cannot take risks myself - not only would I not be able to fight at my best, but I would also put the life I am carrying in danger! No, you'll have to go - generously rewarded, of course. Provided you feel up to looking for this unspecified 'means' that can save my Dobbian, facing unspecified 'risks'. But... well... that's what adventurers do, right? How about? Do you think you can do it?"
And there she is, this young woman, pregnant and alone. She is looking at you intensely, with a light of hope that she doesn't seem to want to give up in the face of any obstacle. It is clear that if you don't accept, she will look for someone else. Or maybe, if she doesn't find anyone, she will eventually go herself, in spite of the wise observations she has just made? However it is clear that at this moment Martha is praying to whatever deity she can think of that you will agree to try to help her...
Tyrgram dropped his tools in incredulous surprise. Luckily they fell into his lap rather than scatter all over the floor.
'Hold up.' He said as he removed his glasses, all intent of work having drained from him. 'You want us to bring a man back from the dead? And that there is a place we can just walk in to fetch him?'

'Hold up.' He said as he removed his glasses, all intent of work having drained from him. 'You want us to bring a man back from the dead? And that there is a place we can just walk in to fetch him?'
"Of course I want my Dobbian back from death!" Martha confirms "And, listen, I know it is quite uncommon... and that most people would think it to be even impossibile... but I got a divination that gave me directions. There's a place, not far from here, where a means of saving my Dobbian can be found. We must hurry. And there can be danger. But it can be done. You all seem quite resourceful to me... I'm pretty sure you can handle it. Come on! We kind of know the place... Will we allow unspecified dangers to stop us? You are adventurers... You eat dangers for breakfast, don't you? You... will you at least try, won't you?"
"Lady Martha, I will do what I can to help, though... this is my first adventure ... where and what is this place exactly?"
"Oh, your first adventure, I see..." Martha seems taken aback and not quite sure how to continue.
Thia intervenes: "Well, mistress Martha, but at least Lady Ardana has been honest and she admitted it... And although it is her first adventure, she is willing to try... And Mr. Colin had advised to hurry..."
She then turns back to Ardana, now slightly more confident: "Don't worry, warrior lady! I'm sure your fortitude will make up for the experience you lack! I'm glad you're willing to try! I'll tell you immediately everything I know..." the woman takes out a scroll and unrolls it in front of her eyes "I wrote down everything about the divination I received, so as not to forget anything".
Martha reads in a clear, unhurried voice, articulating each word so that anyone can understand each word perfectly: "Once you follow the road to Triboar for about 4 miles, look for one of the hills to the west... the one that has a white marble arch that allows access to the underground from the south. You will find in there the means to save the father of your child - but you must act quickly, within a few days... and beware that there may be dangers lurking ".
For Engelhart, Tarysaa and Daisy:
You have the clear impression that Martha is a little worried about having to rely on first-timers... but that she doesn't think she has much choice - probably due to the need to hurry, which also Thia reminded her of.
Daisy has to catch her breath to keep from choking on her drink upon hearing of Dobbian's current condition. "Oh, my! Dead..?!"and she begins to wonder what she's got herself into. 'Lim has barely taught me how to heal wounds. How can I possibly bring someone back from the dead?!'
"So are we, uh... needing to bring Dobbins with us to this 'means' of raising him up, or are we bringing back something?"
Tarysaa pulls a map case from her backpack and withdraws several parchments of various sizes. Finally finding the one she needed she laid it on the nearby table and weighed the edges down with the various mugs and items available. Finding Longsaddle she traced a finger along a line... "I walked from Triboar to Longsaddle. Going back about 6 kilometers (4 miles) and turning west puts it somewhere into the Starmetal Hills. Some drunk at the tavern tried to tell me about 'untold riches and buried magic items' from some old dwarf is in those hills."
She frowned as she tapped the parchment. "Honestly, with all the travellers moving along the Long Road from Waterdeep to Mirabar, whatever 'treasures' have to be long gone." ' Tarysaa was still muttering as she re-rolled the scattered maps and slid them back into her map case. 'So, a hill among hills with a white arch. Looking for a white arch in the middle of Hammer? Lovely,'she thought. Looking up once everything was packed away again, the moonelf gave a forced smile, "Sounds like a brisk walk for about an hour. Then however much time it takes to explore this 'underground' area. A nice, snowy jaunt about the area."

Martha reflects for a moment, then says: "The 'You will find in there the means to save the father of your child' part always led me to think that one could fidn this 'means' and bring it here. Maybe a magic item , a thaumaturgic stick, an oil with wonderful powers... Plus, I fear that carrying the corpse during the first exploration could slow it down and hinder you. In addition, if for some reason you were forced to flee, the corpse could be abandoned or lost.. No, I'd suggest searching without the body, right away. If the 'means' you find requires that the body be transported there, maybe then you'll come back for it. We have a few days... given the short distance to travel, there is time to come back for the body, if it is found to be necessary".

"But I know this trail is all I have…" the woman concludes "As you say, Lady Tarysaa, it is not a long walk, approaching the place. After that, it's about having the right idea to find it.".
Ilwythe turns to his companions, listening in to their discussion, “Are we all doing this?”
To Martha he adds, “While you must understand that I do want to take on this job, and I will regardless of my aqaintances’ decisions, my means of feeding myself are day by day. Are there any rations that you could share?”
(OOC; was there a stated prize on any poster I saw?)

"Oh, are you in such a needy condition?" wonders Martha "If so, be my guests before you leave. I'll send Thia to get everyone something to eat, so that, if you have to take any risks, at least you will take them without the distraction of hunger. And I'll make up for you two dry rations that were left over at Dobbian on his last journey... In this way you will also have two more days of autonomy. I hope that will be enough to conclude the mission... above all considering that time does not play in our favor".
(OOC: No, the posters didn't detail how much the reward was - but Martha seems like an open person, you get the feeling there won't be anything wrong in asking her)

Ilwythe turns to his companions, listening in to their discussion, “Are we all doing this?”
Ardana nods, "I'm with you on this."
She turns back to Martha:
"Some additional rations would be appreciated, if we are to leave from here directly, which it seems like we must."
She stands, and proceeds to attach her shield to her back, along with her greatsword, warhammer, and javelins, and then wraps her cloak around her shoulders in anticipation of the cold.
"And the rest of you - Daisy, Engelhart, Tarysaa, Tyrgram, are you joining us?", as she goes to stand with Ilwythe.
"Not so much needy. Rather, I suspect we all are 'just starting out' in our various adventures. And, as you can guess, finances and supplies can be hard to come by until one has delved into a few dungeons or rescued a number of fair maidens or cleaned out a few cellars of vermin. Fresh water and trail rations are always appreciated," noted Tarysaa.
She turned and looked Ilwythe up and down. "Are we doing this? I am still packed from my last trek. I'd prefer to NOT be searching in the dark among strange hills and possible cave dwellers trying to stay out of the cold and wind. So, yes... I am willing to see this through. That said, we best compare notes on what we have in the way of weapons, torches, and spells to best know what we NEED ... as yet."
"I know I could carry one or two torches, just in case." She goes on to list her daggers, short bow; assures them she has sufficient spells at the ready; though she is lacking healing spells or potions.

"I have no torches, if we are to be going underground then we should carry several I think."
