*Thanks - glad I wasted an 18 on this roll ;) *
Pork Pie was considering going off on this guard, to demand resources, but as she watches him standing there, probably thinking of the (formerly) ham sandwich he is going to eat on his lunch break, she determines she's relatively certain she'll have to go along with this porkvestigation. She follows the others into the killing floor.

Perception (watch it be way worse): 18
The killing floor does not reflect the sparkling exterior of the Alexandre Wetworks. The stained concrete floor is fitted with hoses and drains to wash away the daily deluge of blood.
Hooks hang from chains on a rolling rail that runs the full perimeter of the room. The center of the killing floor is dominated by a grisly machine with large spiked rollers, through which pigs enter... And pork comes out.
You smell spiced apples. The source is a charred skeleton shoved into the corner of the room with grim sigils drawn on the floor around it. There are images of pigs and sausages in the sigils for some reason.

Belly huffs and puffs, finally catching up with the others who had seemed to run off. His heavy frame was not suited for this type of activity, he was a Chef after all !
Arriving just as as each participant finished speaking in the conversation, he always seemed one step behind. Lucky his hearing was good, even if his rotund form impeded his progress.
As he had run he thought it best to change into more appropriate clothing he willed forth his Travelling Clothes, his white Chefs Outfit disappearing for now. Wouldn’t want to get the pristine white dirty !
Finally arriving Belly says; “Show… huff.. us… puff.. the… huff… site of the … murder.. And tell us ALL about it.”
Finally out of breath, he turns.. There was Pot, right behind… on the lookout for danger as usual.
The CEO clears his throat and offers a key to the front door of the building. "Well, where to start? The victim was Hemp Dillydally, a low-level member of the Bulwark. He was my son-in-law, and I gave him a fairly well-paying job guarding the wetworks. I never really liked him, but I never wanted him to be burned up like a slice of bacon! Now there's nothing left but bones! And if people realize that it happened at the same time as the Porkening, they might freak out! If you could get to the bottom of this, I will be in your debt."

"It appears there's a little more to Hemp Dillydally's fate than just being 'burned up'. Sweetandsour-cery is a serious crime, and it appears that whoever wanted him dead was acquainted with that dark art ... and perhaps acquainted with him. (you said to make a perceprtion check so i got a 3 but i was trying to say stuff about my character also and i saved it but it rerolled as a 14)
Tip that I've picked up in the forums to prevent that is to do the roll first in a separate post, then use the "Quote" command (between' Reply' and 'Multi-quote') to put it into a quote box in the post where you type all the rest. That apparently protects the dice roll no matter how many times you edit; but it only works if you do it that way, not by using the quotation mark symbol in the menu bar

She notices the spiced-apple smell with that perception check, but her arcana check reveals nothing about the sigils. However, she notices that something is in the skeleton's mouth.
The CEO frowns and shakes his head. "I haven't noticed him acting particularly strange lately, but I've known him for a year, so I wouldn't be aware if something changed."

Keeping light as popcorn on her toes in case she needs to leap back in a hurry, Rosemary draws a spit from her belt and approaches the skeleton's head. In her other hand is her trusty tenderizing mallet.
"Looks like there's something in his mouth. I wonder if it's safe to knock it loose with this spit ... ?
As she reaches out with the spit, she takes a deep breath and reaches out towards the Roots with all the taste of her Third Tongue, seeking any fresher or sharper signs of danger than the general charry reek the forbidden magic had left. Particularly towards the object in the corpse's mouth did she taste and sample in quest of the sharp warning tang of danger, or of present evil
Pork Pie would look at the guard and watch them to see if their laziness should be taken at face value, or if they are trying to cover something up.

They seem to genuinely just be lazy. They haven't done anything strenuous in their work life for years, actually.
