You have seen that monster being battled in the arena, you weren't the one fighting it though. It was a well organized team of more experienced gladiators than yourself. You have seen it shooting deadly spikes from tail for the distance of whole arena. And even though you were a little ways away you think that you hear that this weird nearly human-like face was cursing the gladiators in common language. The announcer has called this monster the Manticore, and the crowd reacted with awe mixed with fear and disgust.

Tryn makes sure he finds a shady spot behind someone or a tree or bush or whatever is nearby, then he replies whispering, „Now that’s a turn into an unpleasant future if we continue there. This beast IS large. Are you sure that it isn’t the dragon? I have nothing to shoot at that, and I certainly don’t fancy to get into a brawl with it. Even if we could sneak up, what would we do? I think best would be to scare it away, or not? Perhaps with some fire? Aren’t beasts afraid of fire?“

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
« The beast speaks ! I was not expecting that. If it speaks, could it be reasoned ?». Goraseth thinks for a minute. « I have rations but it might not be enough for a beast this large. We could try to hunt games around here and give it to the beast while some of us check for the midwife ? »
He turns to Tryn and winked « if that failed, I like the fire option »
Tryn gulps, „If it isn’t picky with its food, there’s another option but I’m not sure I like the idea myself. Or who of us could outrun it? Or perhaps run and then hide, or better yet lure into a trap? But where do we get an impromptu trap?“ Tryn scratches his head, unhappy with his train of thought. Then his eyes light up and he says, „Don’t you all remember that flock of sheep that we saw three hill down that road? Wouldn’t they make for a splendid meal for such a beast and since they must have run off there wasn’t anyone there to look after them, just young lambs dining on juicy grass…“

Tharanau returns after a good few minutes from a low lying hedge of scrubs with a big hare over his shoulder and his water skin tight with fresh water from a clear bubbling streamlet.
"We could use this as a distraction - maybe leave the hare here and tell the beast so come get its food - completely without a fight. Hopefully it will prefer that than to hunt is all down. Maybe only one should speak and the others try to advance discreetly, so if we need to attack, we can hopefully surprise it. What do you all think? I also like the sheep idea. Maybe add that to the end of your sentence and tell it there's more to have even further away."
Tharanau waits for the others to decide and cleans his weapons. Then he is prepared and ready for whatever may come.
While the party discusses their options for appeasing the beast flying above the windmill, Elrora also tries to search the undergrowth nearby for prey to offer. (Survival Check: 3) Admittedly, however, it had been awhile since the princess had needed to search for game herself — and she unfortunately returns to the circle of her new companions with her blade still clean. "I wasn't able to catch anything, I'm sorry," the Elven woman apologizes with a sorrowful dip of her head. "Perhaps the prey we have to offer, along with the promise of a herd of sheep, will be enough. I imagine a fire might cause damage to the windmill, and it's possible the midwife could get hurt." Though not as hurt as she would be if she were to be torn apart by that hideous beast in the skies, Elrora thinks. It might be a wager she's willing to make.
Goraseth summarises: "Very well. It seems we somewhat agree on the plan. I can stand here at the border of the forest and call out the beast, giving the meat. If things goes south, I'll run in the forest which might give me a bit of protection. Some of you could also wait in the forest. Meanwhile one of you, wait on the other side and rush for the tower to free whoever is in this windmill when the beast come towards me. Did I get it right ?". There is a glow on Goraseth's face, excitement on taking on such a creature that he couldn't hide.
“I’ll go to the mill,” Tryn volunteers. “I can already advance with stealth and get near the building to cut the distance that I have to go when the manticore comes for you. Look out for the windmill, once I leave with the midwife, you should withdraw if you still can.”
If everyone is ok with this plan, Tryn will try to sneak around the western side of the hill before ascending to the west wall of the windmill. Once there, he’d try to make eye contact and wave with his arms to signal that he got close and is ready to rush into the house. Stealth in game log: 20 (for some reason - probably my big fingers - I rolled religion on my phone, the 20 corresponds to that roll with the correct mod, let me know if I should rather re-roll)

Manticores head immediately shifts at Goraseth direction, the next seconds it is sprinting towards him. Rushing to the pile it stops over grabs the hare, and growls at Goraseth:
"Miiine!"

We can accompany you back to Phandalin. There you will be save until someone takes care of this monster!”

Especially when that thing roams there. You are however welcome to come and hide with me, and i am sure the beast will get bored at some point and leave looking for meat somewhere else."
Meanwhile the standoff between Manticore and rest of the team is in place. Manticore seized the loot and is assessing the situation looking around. Seems like it is ready to attack anytime but does not for a time being.

He looks briefly toward the mill to get a sense of where is Tryn and start to talk to the creature: "Indeed, this is yours. I see that this is your land and I did not want to trespass.
