Essendrum stands before the web-filled corridor perring ant the surprised dwarf and motions Enoch forward. “I could burn him out, and he’ll likely free himself soon enough, but perhaps you could help cut them down. Please be careful, this spider does not want to catch a third fly so soon.”

“Gag him as well. Bjorn, I think this corpse falls under your expertise more than mine. Red Wizards are known to embrace necromancy so enthusiastically as to become undead themselves, but I still am suspicious that this may be a decoy.”
Counting on Enoch and Spike to bind and restrain the Red Wizard, Essendrum will search him thoroughly and remove anything that could be related to wizardry using mage hand: spell foci, competent pouches, rings, spell books open to the ‘Counterspell’ page, etc.

How can any living being choose the life of an undead. Living on as a moldering corpse" She shudders at the thought of such a fate befalling her.
She then asks Venti to fly down the northeastern tunnel and to report back if he notices anything strange or more undead.
With Kiza's help, Bjorn is able to bind and gag the Red Wizard. Combat has ended. Bjorn, Spike, and Kizaare close enough to the Red Wizard to smell that he reeks of rotting flesh. Essendrum starts rifling through the Red Wizard's robes, turning out pockets and the like. Essendrum finds no items on the Red Wizard's person. “I certainly have no objection. This undead has no spell components or foci and resorts to biting. I very much doubt it is our Red Wizard.”
