“There’s always the chance that I’m wrong," says Silvie hesitantly to the entire group, "but from that mark?" She gestures to Kurox's backpack with her head, then purses her lips. It takes her a moment to continue, like she has to fight to get the next words out. "My guess is a yeti." There a brief pause, then she looks Hruna in the eyes, a sad and sympathetic expression on her face. "I'm sorry for your loss. We'll be careful. And who knows? Maybe if it is still there we'll be able to make sure it doesn't hurt anyone else."
Silvie looks over the map on the table for a few seconds, trying to memorize the circled location, just in case they would somehow lose the map. If no one reaches to take it in that time, she will do it.
"A yeti, well that will be challenge, but a challenge worth taking. Now we know where the ingots were last seen, based on the map. I say we head out now my newfound comrades" says Kalid
She puts on her gloves, then unslings her shield to shoulder her pack. Calid Leaves the Northlook Inn.
With his furs already on, Ciaran takes his glave and nods to Hruna. Then, seeing that Silvie has taken a closer look of the map and seems to know her way around he gets ready to follow to follow her.
Solvail raises one eyebrow at the group then approaches to take a look at the map presented by the dwarf, nodding to herself and holding an expression that makes it abundantly clear that she has absolutely no idea where to head to in hopes to reach the marked spot. She clears her throat and addresses the group, "Hopefully one among us has travelled the Frozenfar before? And in... these conditions?"
"It'll be a change of pace for me. Filling orders in front of a forge doesn't give much opportunity to move about," Unburdened says with a shrug as he follows the others out. "Not saying it's an unwelcome change. Spice of life and all that..."
Orixian makes a quick aside to Ciaran, "I'll have to tell you about the dreams later."
He bundles himself up, dons his pack, and hefts his axe and shield as he follows the rest of the party to the edge of town. He leaves his face uncovered and frost starts to form in his eyebrows. He tries to shout over the wind, "So, where are you all from? Locals don't often gripe about the weather too much."
Silvie takes the map, folds it, puts it in a pocked and follows directly after Calid. Even as she answers Orixian, she has a large portion of her attention on their surroundings.
"No, cold doesn't really affect us much," responds Silvie over the wind, in a slighlty amused tone. Her lips twitch as if she's hiding a smile. "I, for one, have lived here all my life."
"Haven't always been from this corner of Faerun. I apprenticed south of the Dale, and came here to make my own way quite a long time ago," Unburdened says as he straps on his snowshoes. "For me, it's more I got used to the presence of the cold. The actual problem is it just gets even more so, these days."
"I come from S..." the priestess hesitates for a moment, "...South. From the South, as well." she rubs her elbows and looks at the outdoors, "Winter is not merciful back there either, but I can't say it's as unrelenting as this."
"L-Lots of southerners..."Oona remarks as she jots something down in her notebook. She seems quite adept at writing and walking. "I'm, I'm... uh... I'm Oona of Baldur's Gate... I guess."

The seven of you set out - the natives Sylvie and Calida lead the way with the rest of the southerners in tow. Bryn Shander is built atop a hill, and as you look out over the northwestern stretch of the Dale, you see more rolling hills blanketed in snow. Shrouded by icy mist in the distance you see the vague outline of Kelvin's Cairn, the thousand-foot tall mountain towering over the Dale that these dwarves apparently came from. With a prominent landmark to act as a guide, Silvie and Calida know precisely which direction to head. The two have evident experience traversing through this wintry terrain, pressing forward with their snowshoes with ease. Unburdened, Ciaran, Oona, Orixian, and Solvail have a little more difficulty, but soon find their rhythm and keep up with the two Ten-Towners in their company.
Just like Hruna predicted, it's a three-hour trek through the ice and snow. Thankfully, you aren't struck by a blizzard, but it's still quite the trek. You crest a snow-covered ridge and see an old Reghed standing stone sticking out of the earth like a sore thumb. You also spot a frozen, dismembered corpse in a gully near the stone. Snow covers some of the gory bits, but the headless torso and severed limbs are visible. You see tracks in the snow all around the corpse, and the telltale grooves in the snow left behind by a sled that has been hauled away.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Calid shakes her head at the dismembered remains of the dwarf. She then looks at the tracks to try to identify them and to look see if there are any details she can notice.
Unburdened checks the body of the fallen dwarf to try and discern what kind of creature is capable of such carnage. To help, he takes out an eyepiece he uses for detailed metalwork.

At the sight of the corpse, Silvie makes an aborted motion towards her bow, but stops herself quickly. She swallows back down the bile that wanted to come out and starts taking deep breaths as she goes to inspect the corpse. Her fists are clenched tight, but by the time she is next to the corpse she successfully managed to repress her panic and nausea. Seeing corpses of people is a lot harder, huh. Good to know, I guess, thinks Silvie ruefullywhile she lowers in a crouch and examines the body.
"Well, this feels weird," mutters Silvie to herself. Then in a louder voice meant for everyone, "I'm gonna be honest, I expected to find the sled here, a lot of blood and no body. Maybe a small body part. Not... a mostly here corpse and tracks. Can someone act as lookout? I really don't want to be ambushed either by this thing or another wild animal."
(Silvie is looking at the corpse and basically trying to find what is missing, be it a body part or an object. Speaking of objects, if she sees one that seems more personal and like Hruna would appreciate as a reminder of her companion, Silvie would take it. Not entirely sure which skill fits better, but: medicine 22 and perception 16.)
"This feels like a trap..." mutters Silvie, then stands up and goes next to Calid to also try and see what she can glimpse from the tracks, both the footprints and the ones left by the sled.
Solvail furrows her brow and purses her lips at the sight of the corpse as she approaches, her hand instinctively going to the brass sun-shaped symbol hanging from her neck, "I-... I'm not familiar with dwarven funeral rites, but that's not it. We have to take him back with us as well." she looks off at the distance in the direction the grooves seem to follow off to, "Cover the corpse with snow after you're done looking at it. We'll stop back here for him once we get their sled back." The priestess stays near the corpse muttering words under her breath, praying for the gods to welcome in the soul of this lost dwarf as she holds her amulet.
((No time for Ceremony but Solvail is ready to pray for Guidance to whoever needs it next near the corpse))

- I come from Waterdeep. I lived all my life there, and have been here for a couple of weeks. Not used to the Dale yet ... not sure I'll ever be.

Orixian smiles at the answers. "Lovely to see travelers and locals coming together, then. I'm from Mirabar, not immensely far but not exactly close."
