Surrounded by flames and still a bit disoriented, Serge surveys the burning hellscape of the ruined village. Seeing only one troll in sight, he begins walking northwest, towards the ford. He holds out his sword hand toward the oncoming troll as he walks, pointing a finger and intoning the words "Rursus vero." 3 pink motes of force race out from his index finger and impact the troll.
Force Damage: 2, 2, 2
Then he wiggles that same finger at the troll in a 'come hither' gesture.
He continues walking and then turns, raising his sword and shield in a defensive posture, to wait for the troll. He breathes heavily, still hampered by a half dozen serious wounds, his blue tabard torn and covered with dirt and crimson blood. He seems calm despite everything, though whether this is due to bravery, or just good training, is impossible to say.
Movement: 30' North/Northeast toward the ford. *If Serge has developed a good impression of the troll's movement speed, he would try to pick a spot that would put him out of the troll's reach next turn. If not... oh well.
Reaction: Same... Shield if hit by troll, or Absorb Elements if hit in the blowback from his allies' fire spells.

Serge relaxes his stance when the final troll falls. He looks to Zeds, his eyes a little vacant. "Keep the people and the wagons moving. Cross the Winding Water before we lose anyone to these flames."
For his own part, he disconnects his shield, sets himself down against a boulder near the riverbank, and does his best to keep breathing while gingerly trying to assess what's broken and whether that is his collarbone poking out from under his chainmail.

Zeds will reluctantly do his best to shepherd people across the water away from the flames. He likely mostly prevents people from trying to run into burning buildings to grab precious mementos and heirlooms but if there are goods in any buildings he thinks can be entered safely he will do what he can. Within reason.
Ixsas uses Harness Divine Power to recover a level 2 spell slot. He maintains his concentration on his Flaming Sphere until he's absolutely sure that there aren't any other trolls waiting to pounce on them.
If Ixsas can fetch a couple of buckets from a wagon, he'll carry some water from the river to the shrine and splash it on the walls until the smoke and heat from the other burning buildings becomes too much for him. Although it's generally good not to anger any god, he's actually not too concerned about a shrine to Chauntea. If anyone asks, he merely says, "If any more trolls come before Serge and Thalren are ready to move on, it might be nice to have one sturdy building still standing."
Once Ixsas is done trying to fire-proof the shrine, he'll help Serge across the river and suggest that the caravan break for lunch. He can help bandage Serge's and Thalren's wounds. While he's treating Thalren, he tries to make a joke, "I told you that I would burn down the village: be glad that you were not in it when we did so!" Maybe that joke was "too soon."
More seriously, Ixsas tells all of the Willowford people: "Be glad that you all live! And Praise Kossuth that he sent us here when he did, with the power of fire at our command. Otherwise, those trolls would have surely slaughtered your people." Whether anyone joins him, he says a prayer of praise to the mighty power of Kossuth's fire, standing on the river banks across from the burning village. He maybe seems a little too eager to watch the burning village until the flames start to die down.
(( OOC: Yeah, Ixsas is still not great at proselytizing. ))
Within the shrine Zeds finds a well-made tapestry depicting farmers being blessed by Chauntea.
Tapestry - 250 gp.
If Ixsas is still trying to wet the walls of the shrine and sees Zeds with the tapestry, he'll offer to help roll it up and carry it over their heads to keep it from getting wet when they cross the river. He muses happily to Zeds, "If we find another temple of Chauntea, they may pay a nice reward to recover this tapestry."
No one joins Ixsas as many have a look of horror as it is too soon. Thalren approaches Ixsas and Faelsin "We have no food and now only the clothes on our backs. True we have our lives, but we won't make it to Greenest, which is over a week of travel. We need supplies and your caravan can offer it."
Thalren is still quite injured and still is bleeding. He had stuffed a rag into the wound as a stop gap measure for now.
Faelsin says "We can give the needed supplies but that would mean we would have to hunt and gather for our food until we reach the rest stop." He turns to the party "Do any of you have experience with hunting or gathering?"
Serge just looks wearily to Faelsin, and replies quietly, "We shall find a way to provide. We cannot leave women and children to starve."
Then he digs slowly in his pack. He reaches up from where he is sitting and hands a bundle of items to Thalren. Among it are 8 rations, 2 hand axes, and 25gp.
"The gold's not so good as food... but along the way will be farms and villages... trade for what you can." He then leans back against a rock or tree stump and closes his eyes to rest.

Thalren is still quite injured and still is bleeding. He had stuffed a rag into the wound as a stop gap measure for now.
Ixsas was interrupted by the attack from the trolls, but he'll finally cure (some of) Thalren's arrow wounds: Healing Word, 8 healing.
Faelsin....turns to the party "Do any of you have experience with hunting or gathering?"
Ixsas says, "I am no great hunter, but I know how to set simple snares. And while traveling in these lands, I have already learned much about your plants: various berries and tubers and mushrooms. We will not starve, but gathering food will slow us down." His scaly brow furrows as he thinks and looks along the road north of them as though his green eyes could see all the way to the cultists' caravan. He looks to his companions and says, "But I fear that any delay only helps the cultists split away from us, the same cultists who made these people from Willowford into refugees. If my mission is to stop the cult, perhaps Kossuth will provide nourishment to keep us on our feet so that we may travel faster."
Then he digs slowly in his pack. He reaches up from where he is sitting and hands a bundle of items to Thalren. Among it are 8 rations, 2 hand axes, and 25gp.
"You are very generous, Serge," Ixsas says. It sounds less like a compliment and more like a statement of fact. Seeing the gold, Ixsas concludes that Serge's family must be quite wealthy.
Ixsas is less inclined to give up his meager possessions to the Willowford refugees who had tried to rob them. None of them are even followers of Kossuth! But given that the caravan will have to gather food for the rest of their trip anyway, he parts with half of his rations.
Malfa then says "Well before we give you our supplies let me make a humdinger of lunch as a sort of sendoff"
During and after lunch, Ixsas is lost in thought and prayer for guidance. If they don't want to delay their arrival at Carnath House, Ixsas will almost certainly need to provide food for the group. But after the fight with the trolls, Ixsas felt like he may need to focus on his healing magic. The party did well to fight off the trolls, but he doubts that they would survive a few attacks like that in one day without the help of Kossuth's healing. But that's going to make it difficult to prepare Dispel Magic, which Ixsas felt was important after his success in breaking the enchantment on Toren, especially since they could still run into the red-robed wizard and his undead servant again -- definitely not a friend of theirs.
While everyone is enjoying the feast, Ixsas suggests to Zeds and Krackle that they try to strike up a conversation with Toren. Ixsas broke the enchantment on Toren last night, but they still don't know what the enchantment was. Bay said that Toren had struck some sort of bargain, but they don't know anything more about it. He suggests, "If Toren is in some trouble, it could pose a danger to the caravan. Seeing us defeat the trolls may give him confidence in our power. You could imply that we could help him...but he'd need to tell us what bargain he made and with whom so that we're properly prepared."
If they try to talk to Toren, Ixsas will take his food to eat with them and the Mire brothers so that he can listen to the conversation.
"It's theirs, not ours" Zeds says to Ixsas as they carry the tapestry. "If Chauntree or any other wants it, they can get it from them..."
The tapestry, chalice and whatever the dust may be belongs to the refugees and Zeds returns it to them as soon as it is saved. He may be a scoundrel but he's not the type of scoundrel that is going to rob the last belongings from the desperate. "I don't know if these hold any special significance to you or if they are just nice items," Zeds admits as he delivers the items. "But if the latter then perhaps you could trade them to Faelsin for goods that would make your trip easier..."
Spying Serge's largesse, Zeds adds some coin of his own to their bounty. "Spread the coin amongst you, or at least those who could defend it a bit. You all look like tragedies so you shouldn't be too much of a target for thieves, keep it looking that way until you can find some civilization, eh? And take these as well," Zeds says as he passes over six daggers to them. "Hopefully you won't need but a good knife is always good to have just in case..." (So gives them 6 daggers, 50 silver and 50 bronze coins. He's not so generous that he's giving up any of his gold...)
Zeds agrees with Serge that they can indeed do some hunting and gathering to help supplement the needs of the caravan. "Perhaps don't give them all the stock," Zeds suggests to Faelsin. "They can hunt and gather as well... But yeah, I think we'll have an easier go of it than they will."
During lunch, before the refugees move on, Zeds will tell the story of the ghostly knights which attacked them, as well as the red robed figure and his undead servant. The stories are mostly factual and told to warn the adults about the trials they faced making it this far... But Zeds is aware that there are children about as well so he both dramatizes parts while also toning down the real danger of it all. No sense sending the kids off scared shitless... Nor the adults without fair warning.
Beyond lunch, Zeds hears Ixsas' suggestion about Toren and nods in understanding. "I agree, I agree. The more we learn from him, and his brother, the better... But I don't think pushing is the way. I will continue on talking with them both and tightening our friendship... And hopefully they'll open up in time." ((Mentioned this before - Zeds slowly befriending them rather than interrogating them.))

Ixsas apologizes. He was under the impression that the shrine and its things were there from the previous residents of this village who were wiped out by the trolls. That is, he thought that those items were already in the shrine when the refugees from Willowford arrived, not possessions that they brought with them from Willowford. He agrees. While he sees no problem with looting their enemies or even a deserted town, he would not steal from the Willowford refugees.
