(The monster is a troll using the ogre's stats, because the Monster Manual troll is a bit over level. It has 53 HP left and can't regenerate)
A black frost forms along the edges to the troll's wounds and stays their healing, courtesy of Richard. Oblivious to this subtle change, the troll bullies it's way past Sildar and rushes into melee with Harek.
It pulverizes Harek's defense with brute strength, but not before Harek snaps its wrist with a well guided swing (Troll's initiative is -1 compared to Harek's 0, so Harek's actions resolve first)
With a roar of pain and rage, it picks up the tree with its left hand and skewers the staggering hobgoblin with the stump end. Harek will start making death saves unless someone can get there in time to stabilize him. Sildar rushes to occupy the now weaponless monstrosity.
I hope it's alright if character curses. Years in less than prominent strats of society have cost Richard a portion of manners.
Richard looks over fallen companion, but does nothing. His interest in Necromancy allows him some expertise when it comes to medicine, but he is no healer. Instead, mage repeats his actions and words, creating one more Chill Touch.

"Take that, you sleazy ****er!" Wizard yells, thinking brother dear would have passed out if he heard him. "Let's push some more!"
A stream of blood runs down the trunk that impales Harek. The wound is looking more and more fatal as the seconds pass without any signs of aid. The troll emerges from the forest on the left side of the path holding a goat sized rock above it's head. With a triumphant roar, it hurts the missile at Richard.
Sildar's blow to the leg doesn't hobble the monster in the least. It has 45 HP left, if I'm not mistaken, and Richard has missed enough chill touches that it will be able to regenerate soon...
"Listen, I know I usually don't like priests, but maybe we should've brought one along!" Richard no longer yells, but pants. "Oh yes, we did! I'd appreciate some healing!"
It hurts all over, but Richard brings himself to stand up and cast another Chill Touch.
If it hits, I'd have to try Magic Missile again, he thinks.
The troll, now at 36 HP begins to realize something is wrong with its regeneration from the blood rushing down it's chest. Disengageing from the fight, it attempts to flee into the woods.
Meanwhile, Harek clings to the last breaths of life as everything goes dark. Later, the rest of you will tell him that he was revived be the dragonborn priest, who cast spare the dying before disappearing into the night.

"That went well," Richard comments with a pained grin. "Anyone has a healing potion or something? In any event, I suggest the lot of us put as much distance between ourselves and that ******* thing as we can."
With these words, wizard climbs on the cart, leans back and rummages through his backpack.
"Where in the Nine Hells did I put it? Oh well..."
Richard looks around to check if anyone is looking and puts his hands in one of the bags in the cart. After a minute searching for something, he pulls out what can only be Potion of Healing. He chugs it rapidly and hides the empty vial in the robes.
Sleight of hand check, to see if anyone notices (DC is 10): 6
Sildar hops onto the cart next to Richard, and points down the road where Gundren fled. He grunts the words "Catch up," then pulls out a skin of ale to drink from.
(Ooc: Aeya has dropped out of the game, but for now we will assume Aeya's character is carrying a injured but stable Harek. We'll discuss the consequences of his wound when you have a chance to rest. The troll will fully regain its regeneration within 5 minutes, but knowing that your group is a threat it will be hesitant to attack you again. I've added the bonus XP for running it off to the rewards for delivering the supplies to Phandelver, and you will each gain 75 XP should you ever manage to kill it. Do you want to continue down the road or pursue it? As a side note, the troll now fears necromancy and cold as much as it does acid and fire.)
"Yes, like I said, let's cut and run before the spell ends and it starts healing again. By the way, y'all owe me a beer for that one. But seriously, I don't think we can take it out, not without a few more near-deaths experiences. I'm really not looking forward to those," said the mage.
Harek stumbles to his feet, holding his head and ribs.
"Let us make haste, one of those experiences is enough to last me a lifetime. We will need a better strategy and more strength to engage that beast again."
Harek takes a few shaky steps down the road. He wobbles a few times barely keeping his balance but his footing becomes more stable as he progresses. He is nursing a distinct limb on his right and keeps a hand pressed into his side.

The troll shrugs off the spell to focus on Sildar.
Grapple Save: 18 vs 14
The troll surges past him, crashing into the woods on the other side of the path where is searches for a suitable weapon.
Richard casts yet another Chill Touch, trying to prevent the creature from regenerating.

A stream of blood runs down the trunk that impales Harek. The wound is looking more and more fatal as the seconds pass without any signs of aid. The troll emerges from the forest on the left side of the path holding a goat sized rock above it's head. With a triumphant roar, it hurts the missile at Richard.
Attack: 11 . Damage: 8
The rock flies close enough to Richard to unbalance him, but he is yet to be pulverized.
Following Harek's example, Sildar is attacking to cripple the troll.
Sword Attack: 18 Damage: 4
The troll will make a con save against Sildar's passive strength (8 + proficiency bonus 2 + str mod 3 = 13 ) save 14
Troll attacks in response Attack: 23 Damage: 7
Edited to use the trolls unarmed attack rather than the tree-club.
Sildar's blow to the leg doesn't hobble the monster in the least. It has 45 HP left, if I'm not mistaken, and Richard has missed enough chill touches that it will be able to regenerate soon...

Is she healing me up so I'm in a condition to engage the troll again? If not we should make haste to the wagon and gtfo.
Ander comes back to the present. "we should leave. That thing may come back, and I have no desire to fight it again"
