Theldrin will cover the (150 gp) cost for creating the Dispel Magic scroll, parting with one of the garnet gems he's been holding on to for a while as he's starting to get a bit low on gold.
(OOC: @Aaggie - Lots of messages about spell scrolls and bastions in the last few weeks. Here's a quick summary of the relevant bits for Avery related to that job for Aubrek in case you missed anything.
When we first got back, we each got 312 gp from the treasure that we looted from the Emperor of the Waves.
Later, we each got 825 gp. That's what was leftover after we spent the money to purchase the manor house as a bastion and paid for the Revivify scroll. (If the link didn't work, it's message #848 in our OOC private message thread).
Thanks for the track, all of this talking of scrolls and bastion building, I lost what was going on. The half plate won't change his AC, it remains the same.
(OOC: I also meant to reference this 6-years long thread on Swimming in Heavy Armor, which bounces between the RAW stuff and a wide variety of homebrew ideas.)
For buying items: 100gp for Common, 400gp for Uncommon but Morley could probably only source 1 in this time. Rare and above will all require you to go on a quest or something to procure.
Uncommon magic items are harder to procure, so we can probably only purchase 1 of them during this time, but the Potion of Healing (Greater) (or maybe consumable items in general?) might be an exception to that rule.
Theldrin is at first very enthusiastic about the gardens at the Manor, and as the party is moving into their rooms, he is quick to head out to help the staff with weeding and other tasks. It doesn't seem to take more than a few days however for him to apparently grow weary of the tedious physical labor, and he shifts to spending most of this time in the parlor room next to his bedroom upstairs, reading a dog eared, worn copy of a book on the various regions of Greyhawk which he found in a second hand shop.

When Theldrin spends time getting the garden ready Syllen would spend the first day casting Plant Growth on the manor. After that he would also help with preparing the garden.
(OOC: Plant Growth doubles the amount produced by plants. @drumdigby: it is up to you if this does anything mechanically to the gardens.)
After much deliberation, the Company of the Grey Chain agree to have Aubrek commission the purchase of an old estate manor just outside the City of Greyhawk. The manor itself is somewhat dilapidated, and the garden's outside have curled up and gone to a musty brown. Someone dubs the place Grey Gardens as a quip, and the name sticks. Syllen quickly turns the gardens into a thriving green bush. The interior and exterior of the house, however, needs a lot more work. Over a couple of months laborers and artisans come to and from the manor making it livable, even grandiose. Eventually, you are able to move in and take your first Bastion Turn. The Company of the Grey Chain finally has a home.
Soon after the completion of the manor, mail and visitors start to arrive; people wanting to make connections and ask favors of this new upcoming adventuring company. Three such communications catch your interest as possible hints of new quests:
First is a member of Avery's old mercenary company, based mainly over in Old Keoland. He let's Avery know, "We put out the word to that knightly order over in Keoland that you were back on the map, we got an interesting response. Lord Jarmaath of Brindol has heard rumors from travelers that the goblins and hobgoblin tribes in the Stark Mounds have banded together under a charismatic warlord. The Knights of the Watch are currently pressed with investigations in the Crystalmist Mountains and the Jotens so will not be able to send a contingent to investigate. Jacquelyn of the West, Knight-Commander of the Darkwatch has requested Sir Avery and his new Company of the Grey Chain act as contractors and work with Lord Jarmaath to route out the source of these rumors." The mercenary has a hardy meal with Avery and then heads back out to his business in the city.
Additionally, the final inspection of artisan's completing the restoration of the manor is lead by Aubrek's majordomo Vathroc. The well dressed dwarf accompanies the builders around the manor and seems somewhat impressed with the workmanship on the manor. However, when the labourers leave, Vathroc stays around: "Master Drallion has asked me to relay his congratulations on a job well done with this manor. He is very impressed with your decision to set yourselves up in the city, so much so that he wishes to offer another job to you. I suppose you may not have heard of some of the more famous ancient dungeons in the Flanaess, but there are quite a few. Lord Drallion has come into possession of a map to one of the most famous: The ruined city of Tamoachan is apparently found in a far off land beyond the Hold of the Sea Princes. Within the city is rumored to be an ancient shrine holding many valuable treasures and monsters. He is prepared to offer to provide you with the map and even fund the expedition to Tomoachan, in return he wishes 10% of the findings. Feel free to think this over, as no one else is likely to be finding the city anytime soon." Vathroc curtly leaves after delivering his message.
Finally, just as your deciding the best course of action, a letter arrives signed by your old friend and travelling companion Toska. "Friends! Much has happened in the months since last we met. Strider Silvain and I made it our mission to find a cure for Abramo's condition, and while we did find a cure of sorts, he may always be a little unhinged. It was then that I saw the good Silvain was doing in the world, and positioned that we take Abramo with us to form an adventuring group of sorts. We call ourselves the Pilgrim's Path, and Silvain acts as our guide to good. We recently encountered an evil Yuan-Ti sorcerer named Xeron who had stolen the bones of the Forgotten King. While we defeated Xeron, his minions escaped with the bones of the King. Prophecy has it that the Forgorten King might return from beyond death to aid the realm in its most desperate hour. However, if his bones are nor recovered, the prophecy might never be fulfilled. Worse, the prophesy may be perverted to evil ends. I contact you because we lost the trail of the grave robbers weeks ago, yet have just found a possible location of a rift in the earth near Greyhawk that might lead underground to the lair of Xeron's masters. It's a bit of a long shot, but if you could investigate the location we could at least rule it out." The letter contains the directions to a remote location in the Cairn Hills, just to the north-east of the City.
So the choices are investigating hobgoblins, exploring an ancient temple, or checking for a rift in the earth. Which will it be?
Hearing about 'rift in the earth' Khessa can't help but think of that race of evil elves that live underground... and that are still holding her family in bondage. Faces she loved and hasn't seen for too long come back to her memory... Faces, moreover, whose expressions were certainly not serene or joyful, the last time she saw them.
The blonde arcane warrior, therefore, proposes to take on that task.
Avery nods in agreement, "The Drows, they hold your family? To me that is a noble cause, and for a member of our illustrious company, worthy of our attention. I also concur that we may want to call upon Jacquelyn of the West, if the Goblins and Hobgoblins are banding under a charismatic leader, they will need to be stopped before the spread like a plague. Dealing with the Drow, liberating a family, then stopping this warlord, now that sounds like a good campaign."

I want to hear drumdigby say Coriana can use her swim speed to successfully swim in ordinary breastplate before I'll trust it, RAW or not.
Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain
Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards.
DM - The Old Keep
Thanks for the track, all of this talking of scrolls and bastion building, I lost what was going on. The half plate won't change his AC, it remains the same.
I reckon if the rules say you can swim in a Breastplate then you could, not a problem.
(OOC: I also meant to reference this 6-years long thread on Swimming in Heavy Armor, which bounces between the RAW stuff and a wide variety of homebrew ideas.)
Avery would like to find perhaps some potions of superior healing, potion or 2 of heroism, and perhaps even invulnerability
Note-I will be out until Sunday evening
Theldrin will also make one more Mage Armor scroll.
For buying items: 100gp for Common, 400gp for Uncommon but Morley could probably only source 1 in this time. Rare and above will all require you to go on a quest or something to procure.
Syllen will purchase a dagger of warning.
Coriana did not, in fact, purchase Mariner's breastplate, but instead normal breastplate.
Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain
Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards.
DM - The Old Keep
I have returned
Welcome back!
If good with DM, Avery will purchase his potions
(OOC: @Aaggie - Quoting the DM here.)
Morley sells healing potions for half that price: Potion of Healing (50 gp) and Potion of Healing (Greater) (200 gp).
Uncommon magic items are harder to procure, so we can probably only purchase 1 of them during this time, but the Potion of Healing (Greater) (or maybe consumable items in general?) might be an exception to that rule.
The Potion of Healing (Superior) and Potion of Heroism are both rare, so they may fall under the second part of the post, requiring more effort to procure them. Here are the Common and Uncommon potions.

Avery will happily purchase 4 potions of greater healing, and 4 potions of healing (1000gp)
