So you make your way down the tunnel and find a newer looking door with the insignia of House Dusklorn. The tunnel also continues onward into the dark. Now, assuming Xanrym does mutter the passphrase, which opens the door, I’m going to get a Stealth roll from anyone within 30ft of the door. So you can decide whether you want to make the roll or stand back. And a reminder that anyone in Heavy Armor rolls with Disadvantage.
(OOC: Well, we forgot to ask Irrenaste how large Elessarwa's torture chamber is, so we don't know whether it's going to be a vast hall or a little 20-ft x 20-ft room where we can mostly snipe from the door. Oops! We don't know whether we'll have a clear shot from the door or whether we'll have to go through this door and then around a corner or something before we can see Ellesarwa. Xanrym would encourage everyone to hang back while he tries to open the door and get a look inside. If he gets it open, he can at least take a peek into the room to see what the situation is. Ellesarwa may not be home at the moment! Unless she happens to be looking at the secret door, Xanrym hopes that he can actually get into position inside the room before she's aware of the party's presence. He definitely doesn't want to get blasted in the doorway as soon as the secret door opens. That is, hang back, lights out, and wait to move until they hear Xanrym's spell or until it's clear that something went wrong.
Once the door is open, Xanrym would try to sneak invisibly into the room and away from the door. That way, if Ellesarwa hears him when he starts casting Silence, if she looks in his direction, she may not be looking toward the secret door. She'll quickly realize that something is wrong, but once the spell is cast, it should also conceal the noise of the party rushing into the room from the secret door. If Syllen is 30-ft from the secret door, he could move to the door and cast a spell in one round. I guess Coriana and Theldrin may also want to move to the door and cast spells from there during the first round. If Khessa and Avery are farther back, they may have to dash into the room on the first round so that they could make a "wall" in front of the now-visible Xanrym.)
Xanrym waits for everyone to get into position and get still. Then, not expecting it to work, he moves to the insignia on the wall and says quietly in Elvish, "Blood for Lolth." To his surprise, the door opens, revealing the room beyond. He peers into the room with the Darkvision granted by Syllen and, depending on what he sees, sneaks quietly through the door and into the room...
Embarrassed, Xanrym would have said, "Oh! Of course, how silly of me to forget. I think the stench of this place must be affecting me." He asks Khessafor a Light. The point was just to make sure that Xanrym had the light with him since he'll probably be closest to Ellesarwa and can toss the light near her once he casts Silence.)
Xanrym says the words and the door slides open, he scuttles into the room beyond, lit by candles with blue flame
Dim light reveals iron maidens, racks, and other intricate contraptions in alcoves and spaced throughout the room. The northeastern alcove is closed off with bars, and two forlorn gray-skinned gnomes stare out from behind them. Near the northern wall stands a stone altar adorned with intricate carvings of a spider that has the head of a female elf. Atop the altar is another gray gnome who whimpers as she struggles feebly against the manacles holding her. Over her, staring down with glee are two drow. One is a striking female with chin-length silver hair and glittering breastplate, and the other is a slight, bald male clothed in loose black pants. She has a wand at her hip, while he has his hand on a weighty tome. They haven’t noticed the door opening, intent on their victim. Initiative:
(OOC: @drumdigby - Will you be posting a map? 😇 I'll assume for now that the room is large enough that Xanrym can cast Silence on the Drow at the altar while leaving enough room outside the AoE for Xanrym, Theldrin, Syllen, and Coriana to position themselves and still be able to cast spells.)
Now that they're here, confronting another follower of the Demon Queen of Spiders, Xanrym's attention is wholly focused on the present. No flights of fancy or old stories cloud his mind. Xanrym makes no sound as he moves slowly into the chamber, his footsteps silent and his Cloak of Elvenkind magically muting any sounds from the gear he carries. He surveys this vile sanctum dedicated to Lolth and sees the Drow torturing the gnome on the altar. This is the moment! He can feel his heart pounding in his chest, and he takes a deep, slow breath to steady himself. With one glance back at the door to the secret tunnel to make sure that it's still open and that he's not really separated from the rest of The Company, he begins!
Xanrym takes the pebble of Light from his pouch, the bright light illuminating the ugly tools of torture, and cries out in Elvish, "Despair! You are betrayed even as your foul queen betrayed the Seldarine!" Then he throws the pebble toward the altar and casts Silence. He targets a spot near the Drow with his spell, trying to include as much of the room around Ellesarwa as possible but also trying not to include himself or the entrance from the secret tunnel.
(OOC: Before he casts his spell, Xanrym sneaks to a spot in the room that is not directly between the Drow and the secret door. When he starts to speak, he hopes that the Drow will look toward him and not notice the others entering the room at first. He also wants to make it harder for the Drow to catch the whole party in an AoE spell, such as a Lightning Bolt. If one of the torture devices in the room is not near the secret door and is far enough to be outside the Silence AoE, then he'll try to stand behind it so that he has half-cover from the Drow at the altar.)
Movement: Moving into position, as described above. Hoping to have 1/2 or 3/4 cover from anything at or near the altar. Bonus Action: Use Unsettling Words against Ellesarwa. Ellesarwa must subtract 5 from the next saving throw she makes before the start of Xanrym's next turn. That'll presumably be the saving throw vs. Syllen's Entangle. Action: Cast spell (LVL 2 slot) Silence, 20-foot sphere centered on a point near the Drow, as described above. (I can be more specific if we get a map of the space.) For the duration, no sound can be created within or pass through the area of effect. Any creature or object entirely inside the sphere is immune to thunder damage, and creatures are deafened while entirely inside it. Casting a spell that includes a verbal component is impossible there. Free Action: Item interaction - toss the Light pebble toward the altar.
Well, Xanrym probably must be the first to act, since we can't know it's time to act until he notifies us somehow.
(OOC: Done! When you hear Xanrym speaking, and Light suddenly shines through the door, everyone will know that it's "go time." 🙂 Now let's just hope that neither of them has Counterspell!)
Round 1: Xanrym Bonus Action: Use Unsettling Words against Ellesarwa. Ellesarwa must subtract 5 from the next saving throw she makes before the start of Xanrym's next turn.
Khessa jumps as soon as she hears Xanrym's words, fully realizing that they signify the start of the attack. As soon as she reaches the door, she sees...
1) If Ellesarwa failed Entangle's Strength saving throw
The tall adventuress then approaches, Pike in hand, until she is within 10' of the sadistic drow, with every intention of impaling her. [[ OOC: Since Entangle area is a 20' square, no matter how it is placed, there will always be at least a side from which Ellesarwa is 10' or less away ]]
2) If Ellesarwa passed Entangle's Strength saving throw
...Ellesarwa who somehow managed to avoid being entangled by the vegetation that Syllen has magically conjured. The blonde arcane warrior then utters a short chant, making herself Blurry!
The tall adventuress then approaches, Greatsword in hand, until she is in melee with the sadistic drow.
[[ OOC: So: Khessa uses her Movement to reach the door and assess the situation. She then uses her Action to cast a spell (different depending on whether it's case 1 or 2). She then uses Action Surge to act again and Dash to move into position (different position depending on whether it's case 1 or 2). Anyway, at the end of her Turn Khessa should have Ellesarwa in Khessa's melee range, so even if free, the drow matron shouldn't be able to move away without incurring in Attacks of Opportunity. ]]
Theldrin moves up next to Syllen at the doorway, also trying to take some cover if possible. He casts web targeting both drow, adding a mass of thick, sticky webbing on top of Syllen's magical plants.
Coriana casts hex (Disadv on Str saves) on the matriarch and moves up to the edge of the silence. She lashes out with two eldritch blasts. Eldritch Blast: Attack: 14 Damage: 11 [d10 is force, d6 necrotic] Eldritch Blast: Attack: 19 Damage: 11 [d10 is force, d6 necrotic]
Asclepius will move in and move threateningly towards the male drow.

Turn 1:
Action: Cast Entangle(DC 15 Str Save). Will try to hit both but if Syllen can't he will hit the female.
Movement: Move up to the door and try to have some cover from the drow.
BA: If they fail the save Syllen will use the starry form Dragon.

1) If Ellesarwa failed Entangle's Strength saving throw
