Theldrin shrugs with a scowl, having said his piece about the wand (OOC: personally werelemur doesn't care, just roleplaying how I view the character).
He is also of the opinion that the party should stick together
is mostly indifferent about how to handle the Derro
would prioritize getting Irennaste back to wherever he needs to be
likes the idea of mostly laying low until we hear from Es Sarch
Syllen would mainly want to get Irennaste back so the group could get updates on how their plan is going. He does not care about the Derro and feels like letting him tell his group that our plans are to leave town when we get the info we need is best. If they want help with something we can be hired.
As for the Elixir of Health, Syllen will always have lesser restoration ready so it might be best if someone else keeps it. It is good for someone else to be able to cure the Paralyzed condition.
1. Letting Irennaste go free with the statue of Lolth
Xanrym only wanted to capture Irennaste to find out whose name he put in The Guild's drop box. After that, they only kept him bound up in the Townhouse for long enough to ensure that he didn't betray The Company before they could finish "the Ellesarwa job." As soon as they were done with that, Xanrym considered Irennaste more like their guest or their patient. Irennaste can leave whenever he feels ready. Given the relationship that they're trying to cultivate with Irennaste, Xanrym is even willing to provide some sort of support to Irennaste if he needs it. (Would Irennaste feel safe leaving The Riddle on his own now? Does The Company need to escort him out? Or at least get some message to his friends in House Dusklorn to come get him?)
2. Letting Eamoth go free
Yes, The Company politely declines his offer of an audience with the Blueknight. The first morning after the big fight, we can set Eamotth free, but Xanrym would still like to follow the Derro in secret to see where he goes. If at least one of the others would accompany him invisibly, Xanrym would follow Eamotth farther than he would if he's doing that on his own. Xanrym's thinking here is just that he doesn't know how many days they'll be in The Riddle or in Pedestal. He believes that the longer they spend at their Townhouse, the more likely the Inheritors will become a problem for them. He hopes that Eamotth leads them back to the Temple of Berei and that it gives Xanrym a chance to do a little reconnaissance on the Inheritors' base of operations.
3. Checking out the secret door at South Gate 4. Checking out the site of the Plagueburst
This depends entirely on how much time passes before Es Sarch gets in touch with us.
Xanrym would like to spend 8 - 12 hours every day just studying the magical tome and practicing its guidelines. If it's 4 - 6 days before Es Sarch gets back to us with information on Fhadheela, then Xanrym would be able to finish his studies before The Company makes any move against Fhadheela.
If that still leaves Xanrym with enough time each day to take one excursion, then he would be interested in getting out of the Townhouse as long as he's not going alone. Once Eamotth and Irennaste have left the Townhouse, Xanrym feels that there's less risk in leaving the Townhouse unguarded. (We just have to be ready for an ambush when we return.) Or, if we want to leave a guard at the Townhouse, a few of us could stay at the Townhouse while the others go exploring, buying provisions, etc.
Xanrym would like to confirm that the fresco at the South Gate is another secret door. Depending on what other adventures The Company has in Pedestal, he feels that it might be useful to know of secret ways to move around the city. But if they actually want to figure out where the secret door leads, he'd need to wait until all (or most) of The Company could do that together. After the Drider attack in the other secret tunnel, he's definitely not going to explore another House Dusklorn secret tunnel on his own!
Xanrym wasn't really thinking of going right to the site of the Plagueburst. He just wanted to test the strength of the Plaguelost if The Company sees another band of Plaguelost while they aren't already on their way way to some more important job. Of course, going to the site of the Plagueburst may be the fastest way to find a group of the Plaguelost. "Now that you mention it, it would be a site of significant historical and arcane interest. I'd love to see it first hand and document whatever we find there."
Starting from the morning after the Ellesarwa job and fighting off the Derro and Kruthiks, Xanrym would spends his days like this:
Study Tome. Tail Eamotth as he returns to the Inheritors' base. Chat with Irennaste about his plans.
Study Tome. Try to sell the statue of Lolth back to Irennaste. Help Irennaste get back to House Dusklorn, if he's ready.
Study Tome. Check out the secret door at the South Gate.
Study Tome. Stay at the Townhouse. Don't want to be seen leaving the Townhouse too often.
Finish Tome? Try to find some Plaguelost, or visit the site of the Plagueburst.
If Es Sarch hasn't contacted us yet, find a way to send a message to him. Or use Invisibility to slip into the Dripstone Inn and make contact with Es Sarch without making it obvious that we're still working for him.
5. Khessa searching for her family
Xanrym is happy to help with that, but he assumed that we'd have to wait until Irennaste has secured his position with House Dusklorn. Then we could visit as "honored guests" and try to get information about of any drow who would deign to speak with us. That is, it sounds like another clan of drow (i.e., not in Pedestal) took her family, and Xanrym doubts that Irennaste has the info we need. He assumed that we'd need to speak to other drow, like Irennaste's father, who might know more about other drow settlements in the Underdark.
It occurs to Xanrym that we should also talk to Bruthwol Coalhauler. The Duergar merchant seems to trade freely and travel outside the Great Grotto.
Avery supports letting Irennaste go free. He also wants to help Khessa find her family. Being heavily armored, he is not the real stealthy type. With the loot they secured, if some of the items can't be used, then sell it so they have some coin. As for getting to know the strength of a Plaguelost, may not be a bad idea if they are going to confront them. If required, Avery can remain behind to guard the house during an excursion.
When Irennaste is feeling somewhat recovered, Xanrym will spend some time talking to him (with any other members of The Company who want to be part of those conversations). Xanrym doesn't want to send Irennaste back only to have their one House Dusklorn contact be assassinated by his enemies (either within the House Dusklorn faction or in one of the other factions). He wants to see whether Irennaste has a realistic plan for returning to House Dusklorn and establishing a base of support there.
Xanrym eventually mentions that The Company took certain things as part of their compensation for the dangerous job. "Among those items was this statue of Lolth," he says. "It looks like the work of a master sculptor. We're sure that we could sell this statue to a collector for as much as 1,500 gp: it very rare piece on the surface world since so few genuine works of the drow elves make it to the surface. But we thought that we should offer to sell it you first now that you will have the resources of House Dusklorn at your disposal. Maybe it is more than just a valuable heirloom of your house. If it has significance to House Dusklorn or to the priestesses of your house, I thought that it could help you build your reputation if you returned to House Dusklorn with this statue.
"If you want to strike out against the Inheritors, you could say that you recovered the statue from them -- at great risk and grievous injury to yourself! Bring back the statue and maybe the head of one of the Kruthiks. That would point the blame at the Inheritors and could help rally your whole house against them.
"Or maybe you simply need to consolidate your power within House Dusklorn first? You know House Dusklorn best: would the other drow would respect you more if they believed that you executed a perfect coup with no hint of your involvement beforehand? If it is known that this statue belonged to Ellesarwa and that it went missing after her death...well, just ensure that you have the statue displayed prominently whenever you hold audience with any other leaders within House Dusklorn. No one had any evidence that you were plotting against Ellesarwa, but when they see this statue -- a clear sign that you were connected to the assassins -- they will draw their own conclusions about your ruthless effectiveness!
"Think on it. As I said, The Company could probably sell it for as much as 1500 gp to a surface dweller, but it might be valuable to have more coin sooner. I'm sure that I could convince The Company to part with it for, say, 1200 gp."
(OOC: Rolled for advantage in case Xanrym could count on Help from the others, but it looks like the rolls were 11 & 5, so it didn't really matter: 18 with or without advantage.)
Seeing that Xanrym still wishes to follow the Derro, Syllen will volunteer to go.
“I am against moving separately in such a place but if you feel so strongly I request to go. I have many years of experience hunting others. I can become a relatively stealthy animal and cast a spell to aid us in not being detected.”
(OOC: I will be picking the spell Pass Without Trace for the foreseeable future)
I think if Xanrym is going to be spending all his time studying the tome, he can’t go and check out the South Gate or find Plaguelost. So you’ll be one party member down for those events.

Coriana is in favor of laying low for at least a day, maybe two. It's been a bit crazy.
Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain
Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards.
DM - The Old Keep
So to recap, are you:
1. Letting Irennaste go free with the statue of Lolth
2. Letting Eamoth go free
3. Checking out the secret door at South Gate
4. Checking out the site of the Plagueburst
5. Khessa searching for her family
If that’s the case, I’ll just need an Investigation roll from Khessa. Otherwise I can narrate the rest in my next post.
Oh and also, go ahead and take a Bastion turn.
Khessa meant to sell the statuette of Lolth to Irennaste (for 1000 - 500gp) not to give it to him freely.
Anyway, ok, Investigation.
Investigation: 11
Tactical Mind (if I can use it in this scenario): +7
Bastion Barracks: Recruit
Bastion Library: Research (about Drow and the Underdark)
Can Khessa roll DC 15 Persuasion for me as well to get more money for the statuette.
Well, Khessa would have let Xanrym do that... he is the one cultivating relations with Irennaste.
But in case we prefer Khessa to roll...
...Persuasion: 4
Sure makes more sense for Xanrym to do it.

Bastion Turn Orders:

Theldrin thinks the party should avoid the Plaguelost but if others are determined to go in search of them, will concede to coming along for support.

Khessa will then be content searching for informations.
