I think if Xanrym is going to be spending all his time studying the tome, he can’t go and check out the South Gate or find Plaguelost. So you’ll be one party member down for those events.
(OOC: Fair enough. If Xanrym is too busy for any excursions, hopefully he can finish his study and practice with the Tome in just 4 or 5 days. The others are free to explore while Xanrym completes those studies, or they could wait until he's done before checking out the South Gate or looking for Plaguelost. I got the impression that Xanrym was the only one really pushing to do more exploring before The Company hears back from Es Sarch.
How's this? Assuming Xanrym has no time for excursions on days 2 - 5.
Tail Eamotth as he returns to the Inheritors' base. Chat with Irennaste about his plans and offer to sell the statue of Lolth back to Irennaste. Start studying Tome (4 hours), assuming that Xanrym doesn't get killed or captured when following Eamotth in the morning.
Study Tome (8 hours). See whether / when Irennaste plans to return back to House Dusklorn and whether he needs any help from The Company.
Study Tome (10 hours).
Study Tome (10 hours).
Study Tome (10 hours).
Finish Tome (6 hours). If Es Sarch hasn't contacted us yet, find a way to send a message to him. Or use Invisibility to slip into the Dripstone Inn in the "evening" to make contact with Es Sarch without making it obvious that we're still working for him. While we're out that way, we could look for Plaguelost and/or visit the site of the Plagueburst.
If we're still waiting on info about Fhadheela, check out the secret door at the South Gate.
)
Before he starts, Xanrym would still like to follow the Derro stealthily when they release him. He just wants to see where the Derro goes and whether it reveals anything about the Inheritors or the Blueknight. Xanrym would cast Comprehend Languages as a ritual before they release the Derro. Then he'll watch the Derro leave and attempt to follow at a distance with Syllen.
Coriana doesn't have any free money at the bastion to really do anything this turn. She would like to attempt to sell her old breastplate to free up some cash, so a low-key trip to the markets would be in order.

Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards. DM - The Old Keep
(OOC: I don't know if this matters but when Syllen was following he would have cast Pass Without Trace and turned into a spider so his stealth roll would be plus 16.)
They successfully scout out the temple, which has clearly been converted. Previously a temple to the Kuo Toa god Blipdoolpoolp, it has been hastily updated to be in service to Berei of the Hearth Mother, perhaps one of the only human gods you’ve seen worshipped down here in the Underdark. In fact, this may be the only sign you’ve seen here of a connection to the world above at all. You also see lots of Inheritors around, and they are very much on guard, so an intrusion into the temple would take another stealth check. Let me know if that’s something you want to try.
Once they get back, Xanrym convinces Irennaste to accept the statue for 1200gp before letting him go and studying the Tome. He is able to get the benefits from it quickly by focussing in it over the next two days.
Avery and Theldrin talk about the possibility of investigating the Plaguelost, but decide it would be too dangerous and to keep their heads down.
Coriana and Khessa go about some business in town, Khessa getting info while Coriana sells her breastplate, getting the usual half price for used gear from Bruthwol Khessa cleverly asks Es Sarch for some info on the drow slaves from Twardens, to which she gets an interesting answer. He had received information about those particular slaves a few years ago, most of them were purchased from the drow by a mysterious buyer, espiecially interested in women. Even Es Sarch couldn’t find anything out about that buyer at the time, it was like they entered the Underdark and left in a flash, taking some drow slaves with them. As for the rest of the prisoners, they were distributed as usual to many drow cities as needed, some even here to Pedestal and House Dusklorn. But many were also given up along the way, abandoned to the cold and unforgiving Underdark, or just killed.
On your various journeys around the city, it is clear word has got around: The Assassin’s Guild took out a hit on House Dusklorn. The offer of a truce must have just been a ploy on behalf of the Assassin’s Guild.
After two days, you receive a letter from Es Sarch, asking you to attend the Dripstone to receive your reward for reward.

From what he knows of Berei (Religion: 16 (in game log)), Xanrym finds it hard to believe that it's really a temple dedicated to that goddess. But then what are they hiding? Why not just de-consecrate the temple and turn it into a stronghold?
Xanrym glances at Syllen-spider and nods toward the building. Feeling confident with the combination of magics (Pass Without Trace and his own Cloak of Elvenkind), Xanrym waits to find a moment where he can try to slip past the guards and get inside briefly to see whether he can tell what's really going on inside the temple.
(OOC: I don't know if this matters but when Syllen was following he would have cast Pass Without Trace and turned into a spider so his stealth roll would be plus 16.)
(OOC: If Syllen is a regular (tiny) spider, then I guess that he may just be riding on Xanrym's shoulder or something when Xanrym sneaks into the Temple of Berei. Never mind. I guess he's a Giant Wolf Spider.)
A hint of hesitation seeps out of Syllen's words to Xanrym.
“Do you wish for me to scout further? I have enough magic that I could escape if needed. I wonder if we could find out more about Inheritors that could help us in the future.”
In his current form Syllen has blindsight and 40 feet of climbing speed.
(OOC: Xanrym just needs Syllen to say within 30-ft of him, so Syllen doesn't actually have to come inside the temple. Maybe they won't notice a big spider hanging out on the wall of the temple over their heads / around the corner?)
(OOC: Did Xanrym cast invisibility on Syllen? I thought you mentioned doing that.)
(OOC: Xanrym did not. Unfortunately, since the Inheritors mostly seem to speak in Undercommon, Xanrym decided that he'd need his concentration for Comprehend Languages, mentioned above. But I thought that we could possibly prevail on Corianato cast Invisibility on Syllen. I guess she might want to keep Syllen safe if he was "dead set on following Xanrym on this fool's errand!")
(OOC: Syllen would have asked Coriana to cast invisibility on him. Also the DND Beyond app has wrong stats for druid animal forms. The giant wolf spider has a +7 to stealth so the last roll was a 20)
... Khessa cleverly asks Es Sarch for some info on the drow slaves from Twardens, to which she gets an interesting answer. But many were also given up along the way, abandoned to the cold and unforgiving Underdark, or just killed.
...
Khessa can barely believe her ears: finally, a solid lead! So, her mother Eshta and her sisters Yassa and Larrya could have been bought by this mysterious 'women-buyer'! Meanwhile, her father Tobar and her brother Rethos could, with a bit of luck, even be in Pedestal itself! And then Irennaste... then Irennaste might be able to free them!
The blonde arcane warrior isn't turning her attention to the worst-case scenarios for now. That one of them was abandoned or killed. No, it wouldn't do her any good to mentally torture herself with this horrible possibility. She'll face it, if necessary. But that's not what she's thinking about.
The tall adventuress's mind is filled with Eshta's sly smile, the infectious smile of the talkative Yassa, the large, trusting eyes of little Larrya, the towering figure of the reassuring Tobar, the lips so often curled into a pout of the capricious Rethos... She's focusing on the possibility of finding them again. Alive. All of them. And freeing them.
Unless anyone asks for his assistance, or he gets concerned that other party members aren't returning from their expeditions in a timely manner, Theldrin passes the time studying his spellbook and practicing with his quarterstaff.
So Xanrym and Syllen sneak inside the Temple of Berei and listen in on Eamoth’s debrief.
They find inside a traditional church with pews and an alter at the far end, however it is clear that this was not the initial set up, with the walls being rougher than churches you’re used to and an irrescentable smell of fish and damp. The pews are littered with various tough looking humanoids watching Eamoth speak at the alter. The statue that originally stood behind it has been completely defaced, and replaced with a crude but not completely artless head of the god Berei.
Eamoth talks to three figures, two of which you recognise. The Blueknight stands at the alter in helmeted blue plate armour, while the Kuo Toa priest Bloobbloum stands at his left side, finally a cloaked figure stands to the right. “Yes that’s right, Quindal is dead, and they’ve taken over the townhouse. It seems they call themselves the Company of something something. They can fight.”
Bloobbloum shouts, “You see my Saint, I told you, we need to attack them in full force. If we don’t drive them out of The Riddle now, people may start to wonder weather we truly are the strongest gang.” The Kuo Toa seems to be speaking equally to both the Blueknight and the cloaked figure.
The Blueknight begins to nod, but before they can speak everyone in the room starts suddenly at nothing either of you can see or hear. The armoured knight looks to the cloaked figure and seems to think for a moment before stepping back. Everyone in the room falls silent for a couple minutes.
Eventually Bloobbloum speaks again, this time completely addressing the cloaked figure. “You are right of course Lord Vuglomax, we must continue with our original plan. Once we hold sway over multiple holdings in the city, we won’t need to worry any more. Very well, we are all agreed. To the true Inheritors!” He raises his staff and everyone in the pews cheers along. They then all leave and seem to go about various tasks around The Riddle.

Xanrym's head is spinning. He didn't learn anything about the identity of the Blueknight, but it appears that they're just the Inheritors' champion. This Vuglomax seems to be the actual leader, and it's now clear that they have a more complex and secret plot to take over Pedestal. Their plan reminds him of the way the naga cult slowly started taking over Orlane, secretly placing people thralls of the naga throughout the town.
The robed figure, Vuglomax, also seemed to be communicating with their followers without words, speaking directly to their minds. It reminds him of the way that the Aboleth "spoke" to him, and he begins to worry that this Vuglomax can hear his thoughts. That worry and the memory of the Aboleth fuels his fear and makes him feel desperate to get out of the temple before they're caught. Xanrym takes slow breaths and tries to calm himself, reminding himself that they were well hidden by skill and magic and presumably still undetected. He waits until the Inheritors start emptying out of the temple. When he finally moves from his hiding place, he looks toward the spot where he hopes the invisible Syllen-spider was hiding and jerks his head toward the exit. Xanrym sneaks away with the last of the Inheritors exiting the temple before the spells (Pass Without Trace and Invisibility) wear off.
(OOC: Assuming we need another Stealth Check: 24+10: 34)
Syllen focuses more on staying close to Xanrym; does not pay attention to the conversation happening. An unseen nod follows Xanrym’s motion as Syllen follows.
Ok, so Xanrym and Syllen come back and report this news to you all before you spend the next couple of days in downtime. You then return to The Dripstone Inn, where the servers direct you immediately to the meeting room in the back where Es Sarch awaits.
“Thank you all for your patience, the svirfneblin have been relocated back to their home on the other side of the Syllen Sea without anyone knowing they passed through here, now down to our business. Firstly, you have more than my gratitude for completing the tasks I set you; I also have answers for you. First, I have discovered that Fadheela lairs in the Necromancer's Spike, as unlikely a haven as I could have suspected. But our fair Fadheela possesses resources that extend beyond Pedestal and The Guild. She found a way to bypass the zone of decay that surrounds the column's entry. And now I know that way too. To enter the Necromancer's Spike, one of you must carry this token. It will save you from the destructive magic protecting the first room within. Take care, however, for the ring suppresses the deathly effects of that chamber for only a minute or so.” He hands the closest party member a ring carved of obsidian on which a skull is inscribed.
”Unfortunately, undead decay in that chamber even if they carry the ring, so I have been unable to learn anything else of the assassin. House Dusklorn has nominally claimed the Spike and posted soldiers at the entry, but now I suspect the Assassins’s Guild to be the true owners, meaning our own assassination was more important than I first thought. You see, with control of three of the five centres of power in the city, that alliance would have taken over, pulling me and the Inheritors into their fold eventually. What this means for now though, is that you’ll face a few Dusklorn guards at the entrance. However, unlike you and, ostensibly, this Fadheela, they have no way to get past the magic that protects the first room. If you gain entry and survive, I hope you return and tell me all you learn. I can make it worth your while.”
Khessa's face breaks into a broad smile upon hearing that the poor gnome prisoners have been brought to safety. Their story may have had its dramatic moments, but at least it has a happy ending! Just what she hopes for her family's story...
The blonde arcane warrior then focuses on the hunt for Fadheela, the Company's original quarry. She shivers slightly at the mention of the dark Necromancer's Spike, the death magic that protects it, and the disturbing ring carved of obsidian inscribed with a skull. But even though she is acutely aware of the danger, the possibility of perhaps uncovering more about arcane necromantic forces is nevertheless intriguing...
"Of course we'll keep you informed, Es Sarch!" the tall adventuress pats him on the shoulder to underline the friendship that (according to her) has now formed - and by virtue of which she will obviously try to satisfy the other's curiosity.
