Khessa is amazed and flattered by the elf's unexpected gift and her blue eyes widen in delight: "Such a precious gift... A real magical spell scroll... for me!? Thank you!" and impulsively hugs him "I... will try to repay you at the first opportunity, my friend!"
The blonde arcane warrior also punctually thanks after each time the cleric pronounces the now familiar words 'May the waters of Constha guide us on this journey and protect us from the unknown'.
"You know, Syllen? After this... invocation, blessing, prayer, or whatever it is, I really feel more... guided and protected. This 'Constha' really listens to you, huh?"
During the fight, she will act on her Turn (so as the last... but never mind - it will mean that she will get an idea of where it is best to intervene!)
Group 1 is up. The Druid of the Deep is invading from the Forecastle, while the Dwarven sailors are trying but failing to keep the other Sahuagin off the ship. Wolgar is so busy shouting orders that he hasn't noticed the Sahuagin Baron behind him.
As the group makes its way up to the deck, Xanrym dons his mask. Seeing Wolgar in danger, Xanrym calls out, "Wolgar, look out!" He points points at the sahuagin baron and, glaring at him through his crocodile mask, shouts, "You chose the wrong ship to attack!" He casts a spell, hoping to force the large creature to retreat and move off the ship and back into the water.
Xanrym moves to his right. I'm not sure what that thing is to their right, but if he can climb up on it so that he has a better view of the sahuagin baron, he'll do that. Otherwise, he'll move toward the Quarterdeck. As he moves, he gets his crossbow ready.
Bonus Action: Use Unsettling Words against the sahuagin baron, making it subtract 1 from the next saving throw it makes before the start of Xanrym's next turn. (Presumably, the save vs. Xanrym's spell.) Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Dissonant Whispers against the sahuagin baron. DC 14 WIS save (that is, DC 15 WIS save with Unsettling Words penalty) or take damage: 9 (psychic) and immediately use its reaction, if available, to move as far as its speed allows away from Xanrym. On a successful save: 4 psychic damage and no forced movement. Movement: Either climb up on the thing to his right so that he stays in view of the baron, or move 30 ft. toward the Quarterdeck's (north stairs). Free Action: Shouting a warning to Wolgar. Item interaction: equip crossbow.
Avery will rush to the captain's aid, and engage the Sahuagin Baron: Attack 12, damage 5 (Note-I will be out until Sunday)
(OOC: Depending on how strict @drumdigby is with movement and moving past allies, Avery may not be close enough to move to the Sahuagin Baron this round and attack. He could definitely dash into melee range of the baron to try to prevent him from getting to Wolgar.)
Coriana, seeing the knight moving towards the baron, sets her eyes on the Druid. She moves with surefooted grace to the rear of the ship, moving past a dwarf struggling with a sahuagin on the side of the ship. After passing, she turns and says, “Oh let me help you with that,” summoning a spectral tentacle to aid the dwarf. The tentacle attacks the raider on the side of the ship, while she has her eyes on the one at the top of the stairs. She channels her powers through her blade and strikes.

Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain Thelanis - Darkness Below: Kholias Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards. DM - The Old Keep
Theldrin scowls as he assesses the situation on deck, then quickly moves into position where he has a good view of the Sahuagin Baron. About to call out to Wolgar, he hears Xanrym's warning and immediately begins his incantations instead. Swirling his hands in a complex pattern, he frowns with concentration as he sends three rays of fire out towards the Baron.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Avery and can run run past a Sahuagin getting to the Quarterdeck, so takes an Opportunity Attack, and his attack misses. Coriana woudn't because there is a Sahuagin Warrior blocking her path onto the Forecastle, her attack would be directed at it instead of the Druid. That attack misses, but her tentacle hits. Two of Theldrin's Rays hit.
Sahuagin Baron DC 15 WIS Save against Xanrym's Whispers: 18
The spell enters his mind, but doesn't take the effect you'd hoped. He then pulls out his Gigantic Trident and makes three attacks against Avery:
Trident 1 against Avery Attack: 22 Damage: 13 Piercing
Trident 2 against Avery Attack: 18 Damage: 17 Piercing
Trident 3 against Avery Attack: 12 Damage: 11 Piercing
Syllen is up. You're group has engaged the Sahuagin. Avery has headed to the Foredeck, while Coriana has headed to the Quarterdeck. Theldrin and Xanrym have climmbed up the ballistae and are firing spells at the Sahuagin Baron.
Syllen taps into his connection to the cosmos and starts to glow as an image of a chalice forms on his arm. Running over to Avery. Syllen puts his hand on Avery’s shoulder.
“This is not the time to falter, the battle is just starting.”
Syllen is able to heal Avery a little. Wolgar steps up next to Avery and attacks the Sahuagin Baron, "Let's get these gilled horrors off my boat!" and swings with his Greataxe. His crew then take shots at the Sahuagin invaders:
Wolgar against Sahuagin Baron: Attack: 22 Damage: 14 Slashing
Khessa, on the deck of the ship, feels much more vulnerable than usual, not having had time to put on the trusty armor that for her had become almost like a second skin of steel... dressed only in the few clothes that she usually wears underneath, she hesitates for a moment, before launching herself into the attack as her fellow adventurers have already done.
The determination with which the blonde arcane warrior holds her Pike in her fist makes it clear that she lacks neither courage nor fighting spirit... but her tactical mind is evaluating where to strike best and most effectively - minimizing the risks of being torn to pieces by a counterattack.
[[ OOC: Khessa will effectively take her Turn after the Sahuagin... At least, in the meantime I have come to an idea of what she will do - unless the actions of the enemies ruin her plans! ]]
Khessa is worried about the situation of Coriana, temporarily outnumbered, and the crew, who do not seem to be able to resist the assault of the sea monsters for long... but most of the party's forces are focused on the 'clash of captains', that is, trying to eliminate the Sahuagin Baron before the Sahuagin Baron can eliminate Wolgar! And the Sahuagin Baron is in a position where...
'I have to take the Sahuagin Baron out of action' the tall adventuress thinks lucidly. 'That way the party will be free to help Coriana and the crew!'
The blonde arcane warrior, having made up her mind, sprints with agility and power, darts past the same Sahuagin that Avery had passed, reaches the Quarterdeck and charges the Sahuagin Baron, sinking the Pike with all her strength.
[[ OOC: Khessa has 30' Movement and uses it to position herself next to Wolgar, diagonally to Avery. 30' = 6 squares, but if we want to count the diagonal squares differently and therefore the Movement is not enough, then Khessa casts Expeditious Retreat as a Bonus Action to get there - just tell me if I need to do that and I mark the spell slot as used. Once there, she attacks the Sahuagin Baron with her Pike - and thanks to the Push mastery property, if she hits, since the Baron is not larger than Large, she can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from herself! So... overboard! The Sahuagin Baron should fall off the ship and cease (for now) to be a threat. Ok, he can climb back up if he wants, but it will cost him time... time during which we can hopefully slaughter the others. ]]

Khessa's Pike Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. (piercing)
Since the Baron is of Large or smaller size, on a hit she pushes him 10' straight away from herself, overboard!
If this is a miss (as it probably is) Khessa uses her Heroic Inspiration to reroll the Attack:
