Since the Baron is of Large or smaller size, on a hit she pushes him 10' straight away from herself, overboard!
[[ OOC: Well, ok, nothing you can do against too tenacious misfortune. Rolled 5, then 4, then 7... Maybe next round, with my 4th attack of this combat, I'll eventually roll > 10 on the d20 ]]
(OOC: Ooh! I forgot that 2024 rules give you access to weapon mastery. Smart tactics to burn the resources to use Push against the Baron. Too bad the d20 didn't cooperate!)
Xanrym just glances around to make sure that he and Theldrin aren't about to be surrounded by the creatures. He hasn't really noticed the Druid of the Deep on the forecastle, but he's reassured that Coriana and the dwarves seem to beholding off the other sahuagin for now. His main concern is the fight on the quarterdeck. Syllen went to Avery's aid, but none of them are going to last long against the fiend's brutal onslaught, especially since Avery and Khessa aren't wearing their armor! Xanrym holds his breath hopefully as Khessa charges up the stairs and drives her pike toward the Sahuagin Baron, thinking that she may drive him over the rails, but the creature's swift action with its multiple arms deflect her attacks.
Xanrym glances to Theldrin with concern at the situation, but then he shouts as loudly as he can so that his allies on the quarterdeck can hear him: "We've got to push that big one off the ship! Once the quarterdeck is clear, we can hold it against the rest of them!" He's confident that they could fight off the other creatures if they could just remove the big one from the fight. Against so many foes, Xanrym would like to be concentrating on Cloud of Daggers or even Heroism for some of the fighters, but he decides that the most important thing is to prevent the "big one" from getting to attack his allies on the quarterdeck with its trident again. Xanrym tries again to force the Sahuagin Baron to run away.
Xanrym again directs his powers at the Sahuagin Baron, saying, "The Company of the Grey Chain has defeated more powerful fiends than you!" Then he casts a spell at the creature, attempting to force it off of the ship.
Bonus Action: Use Unsettling Words against the Sahuagin Baron to debuff his saving throw by 1 (included in the save DC below) Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Dissonant Whispers at the Sahuagin Baron The Sahuagin Baron must pass a DC 15 WIS save or take damage: 6 (psychic). On a successful save: 3 (psychic). On a failed save, it must also use its reaction, if available, to safely move as far as its speed allows away from Xanrym. Movement: Once he sees whether the Sahuagin Baron flees off of the ship, Xanrym will move from his spot and try to make it at least onto the stairs leading up to the quarterdeck, following Khessa's path. Free Action: Talking
Bonus Action: Use Unsettling Words against the Sahuagin Baron to debuff his saving throw by 5 (used Heroic Inspiration to re-roll, included in the save DC below) Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Dissonant Whispers at the Sahuagin Baron The Sahuagin Baron must pass a DC 19 WIS save or take damage: 6 (psychic). On a successful save: 3 (psychic). On a failed save, it must also use its reaction, if available, to safely move as far as its speed allows away from Xanrym.
(OOC: The low rolls continue. That was 4d6 on Xanrym's turn for a 1, 2, 2, and 2. Grrr. I went ahead and used his Heroic Inspiration to re-roll the debuff from Unsettling Words: 5 (in game log). I rolled it the character sheet so that I could go ahead and put it in this post. I've adjusted the info above with the new roll. I don't care so much about the damage if Xanrym can force the Sahuagin Baron to move 30 ft "safely away from Xanrym" before the creature can make another 3 attacks with its trident. Hopefully, that'll induce it to jump back into the sea and swim away this turn. That would give us one or two rounds before we have to deal with the Sahuagin Baron again unless it has a "climb speed" too.)
Theldrin lets out a frustrated snort as he sees the battle on the quarterdeck not going as well as he'd hoped. But turning to look around at the rest of the skirmish, he's concerned that Coriana seems to be on her own, facing several of the creatures on the forecastle. He makes a quick decision and spins around, casting Web - centering the spell to try to catch all 3 of her opponents.
Khessa get's in range of the Baron, who does have four arms, but can't quite land her Pike on him (Really tough luck with that.) Coriana slashes the Sahuagin in front of her. The Suhagin Baron then makes a WIS save against Xanrym's Whispers:
The Sahuagin Baron jumps backward into the ocean, clearly terrified of Xanrym's Whispers. (Pretty sure that means Khessa and Avery can make Opportunity Attacks.) Wolgar will definately take the Opportunity Attack:
Wolgar Greataxe against Sahuagin Baron: Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. Slashing
Avery moves onto deck and helps Dwarf 3 in his fight against the Sahuagin, slashing the beast, but not felling it.
The Sahuagin on the Forecastle make their DC 14 DEX Saves against Web:
The Sahuagin Baron jumps backward into the ocean, clearly terrified of Xanrym's Whispers. (Pretty sure that means Khessa and Avery can make Opportunity Attacks.)
(OOC: Yes. When the Baron moves away, everyone in melee with him can make Opportunity Attack if they want to use their Reaction for the round.
Also note that the Baron moves away on Xanrym's turn, but then he can immediately head back to the fight on his own turn. Of course, since he jumped into the sea and swam away, it'll probably take his whole turn just to get back to the ship so that he can start climbing up the ship again.)
Syllen is up. You see the Sahuagin Baron in the water swimming. But he heads deeper and you lose sight of him, and your attention is brought to the battle still raging across the deck.
The Bolt slams into the Druid, and the dwarves rally to attack the Sahuagin as Wolgar shouts, "Beat them back, give them no quarter!" He runs to join his compatriot to the south end of the ship.
Wolgar Greataxe against Sahuagin 4 Attack: 8 Damage: 7 Slashing
Khessa's Pike rerolled Attack: 9 Damage: same as before, since it does not get rerolled, 10
Since the Baron is of Large or smaller size, on a hit she pushes him 10' straight away from herself, overboard!
If this is a miss (as it probably is) Khessa uses her Action Surge to try attack again:
Khessa's Action Surge - Pike Attack: 12 Damage: 6 (piercing)
Since the Baron is of Large or smaller size, on a hit she pushes him 10' straight away from herself, overboard!

(OOC: BTW, did I miss it in @drumdigby's description? Does that large Sahuagin Baron on the quarterdeck have four arms?!)
Coriana focuses her wrath on the raider who slashed at her, summoning dark energy to aid her attacks.
Bonus: Hex (Strength) Sahuagin 5.

Syllen will send a Guiding Bolt at the Druid of the Deep.
Hit:18 damage 14 radiant. If hit next attack has advantage.
Syllen will move to the North side of the Quarterdeck by the stairs.
