(OOC: from the rules for opportunity attack: You also don’t provoke an Opportunity Attack when you teleport or when you are moved without using your movement, action, Bonus Action, or Reaction. Because the movement uses the reaction it does provoke an attack of opportunity.)
Turn 3:
Syllen is anxious to get this fight over as soon as possible so he will focus on attacking.
Aura of vitality: Heal Avery 7 HP
Action: Cast Guiding Bolt to Hit: 23 Damage: 14 Radiant
Khessa is frustrated by the limited space available, but, taking advantage of her Pike's long reach, she approaches and attacks the Dessicator from behind Avery's back, sending her brother Anator to distract the enemy just before she strikes.
[[ OOC: Anator's Action: Help. Movement: just one step to get in Pike's range. Action: Attack with Pike. ]].
Khessa's Pike Attack: 24 Damage: 7 (piercing) Bardic Inspiraton, if needed (and if not used up during the Attack of Opportunity), adds 3 to the attack roll.
[[ OOC: OK, I see just now that Theldrin's post went before mine, so he should benefit from Guiding Bolt. Khessa gets Advantage by sending Anator to distract the Dessicator just before attacking. ]]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Round 4: Xanrym
Now that the Illithid Husk is dead, and Syllen revived Avery from the Desiccator's attack, Xanrym is certain that The Company will defeat the creature soon. In case it survives the focused attacks of all of his companions, Xanrym attempts to hinder its first attack with Vicious Mockery, saying, "Why keep fighting? Even death must be better than living in this horrible place with such revolting neighbors!"
Movement: Move north and west, off of the steps and then back behind Theldrin where he can see the big creature with its flaming claws in the cavern ahead. Action: Cast spell Vicious Mockery at the Desiccator, DC 17 WIS save or target takes 6 (psychic) damage and has disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
Concentration: None. (If he hasn't already released concentration on Create Bonfire, he does that now.
Bardic Inspiration: Khessa(since post #6159) Coriana (since post #6189)
Once within the next 1 hour, when the you fail a D20 Test, you can use the bardic inspiration to roll 1d8 and add the number rolled to the d20, possibly turning failure into a success. If you use the bardic inspiration, but the D20 Test still fails, you keep the inspiration die because of Xanrym's Unfailing Inspiration.
Syllen heals Avery while getting two shots on the Dessicator, Theldrin’s spell misses. Khessa’s attack hits, as do Coriana and Xanrym’s. Finally, Avery steps forward and lays into the Dessicator with Whisper, the sword gently guiding his hand in decapitating the horror.
After a vicious and near deadly fight, you all stand in the northern part of the cavern. The fountain trickling next to you and the secret door to the east.
Khessa approaches Avery, still reeling from the horrific (though thankfully deceptive) vision of the monster devouring the brave knight's brain, and, still in quadruplicate form (all three of her illusory duplicates are still active), places her hands on his shoulders (imitated by her mirror images) and asks: "Are you all right, my friend?"
Her second thought is for the trickling fountain, which might conceal the belongings of the monsters' previous victims... but that can wait.

Avery will nod his head that he is ok, "Though I would have to admit, it was a little too close there with the husk, but I will survive."
"Very good!" Khessa sighs visibly in relief and, with a bright smile, enthusiastically pats the knight on the shoulder.
The blonde arcane warrior then approaches the trickling fountain, examining it first (and then possibly the rest of the cave), searching for any belongings left there by previous victims of the fearsome pair of monsters.
He will attack the Dessicator: Attack: 21 Damage: 15; Attack: 12 Damage: 15
(I don’t think you can take an Opportunity Attack for forced movement. That was the Dessicator’s reaction due to Dissonant Whispers.)
The Dessicator, now cornered in the room with the pool by Avery, takes two flaming swipes at him.
Claw against Avery Attack: 19 Damage: 13 Slashing and Unable to parse dice roll. Fire
Claw against Avery Attack: 19 Damage: 19 Slashing and 9 Fire
You all are up. The Dessicator is cornered and looking fairly beat up. But is still capable of some fierceness.

(OOC: Looks like Theldrin would have lost line of sight on the Dessicator, for keeping Witch Bolt active?)
Theldrin moves up to where he can see the Dessicator and aims a Fire Bolt.
Attack: 17 Damage: 14
Attack: 13 Damage: 4

Over the next 7 turns Syllen will heal Avery for 40 HP.
Syllen takes a moment to catch his breath. A slight look of exhaustion shows on his face.
“I don't think I have much to give if we get into another fight. Luckily we all made it through this one.”
Syllen looks to Avery in anticipation of his response to Khessa.
Avery will nod his head that he is ok, "Though I would have to admit, it was a little too close there with the husk, but I will survive."
Avery feels much better after being healed, and nods his head in appreciation and thanks
