Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards. DM - The Old Keep
Khessa can no longer see, surrounded by the toxic fumes—but it's clear to her that they're burning her eyes and lungs! She then pushes forward, crossing the chaotic battlefield, to position herself between the two surviving Mezzoloths.
Meanwhile, the blonde arcane warrior switches her Pike for her magical Greatsword and attempts to strike the already wounded insectoid with a slash between its neck and shoulder.
[[ OOC: Movement: Two steps to exit the cloud and reach the free space between the two Mezzoloths—this grants the Cambion an Attack of Opportunity, if it hasn't already used its Reaction. Action: Attack Mezzoloth 1. ]]
(OOC: @Aaggie - I assumed that Avery could make his way to the eastern wall of the room and then follow the line of the wall through the darkness into the room with the Mezzoloths, so I moved his token to the spot that Khessa just vacated. But yes, I think that his attacks would still be at disadvantage since Avery would still be in the Heavily Obscured AoE for Cloudkill.)

Round 6: Xanrym
Xanrym didn't feel concerned Orinielle commanded her daemons to attack The Company: he was both out-of-sight and protected by ranks of berserkers. But then he was blinded by an opaque cloud of poisonous, yellow-green vapor. It burned his nose and throat, and tears started streaming from his stinging eyes. He squeezed his eyes shut, focusing on his spell as the sound of the fight in the other room continued. Xanrym forced himself to open his eyes, at least to squint, but he couldn't see anything! The yellow-green fog had been replaced by absolute black. Had he been blinded?!
Avery bumped past Xanrym -- charging toward the enemy, he thought to himself -- but that helped reminded him that Avery had been to his north, and he had seen a door beyond Avery on the north wall. Hoping that the door will lead to another hallway and a way out of the toxic cloud, Xanrym moves in that direction, using the butt of his spear to feel in front of him like along cane. He emerges suddenly from both the darkness and the poisonous fog. Light and sight returns, and he gasps thankfully at the clean air.
Xanrym calls out to his companions, "There's clear air and light at this end of the room! Follow my drum!" He beats a rhythm on his drum to help anyone who wants to get out of the Cloudkill make it to the north end of the room through the darkness and obscuring fog.
Knowing that there's only room for a few of them at the north end of the room, Xanrym opens the door to see whether it gives them an alternate exit. Depending on how the Cloudkillmoves into the room, we may need some other way out of here.
How Xanrym finishes his turn depends on what he finds when he opens the door in the north wall of S35.
If there's another monster, he'll either cast Dissonant Whispers (if there's space to drive it away) or attack with True Strike and his spear (if there isn't and he has enough movement to attack).
If there's no obvious danger in the next room, he'll move north through the door and spend a moment to Search the next room or hallway. He's hoping to find anything could help him in this moment or perhaps and alternate path to get back to the fight without having to cross through the poisonous fog.
Movement: Up to 30-ft of movement. Moving 10-ft to the north end of the room and then up to 20-ft movement into the next area. Action: Cast a spell (if he encounters another monster) or Search the next area (Perception: 19). Free Action: Talking, Playing drum, Opening the door
Once within the next 1 hour, when the you fail a D20 Test, you can use the bardic inspiration to roll 1d8 and add the number rolled to the d20, possibly turning failure into a success. If you use the bardic inspiration, but the D20 Test still fails, you keep the inspiration die because of Xanrym's Unfailing Inspiration.

(OOC: @werelemur - Assuming that Theldrin isn't using his action for anything else...)
As Theldrin emerges into the clear air at the north end of the chamber, Xanrym looks relieved. He suggests, "Theldrin, could grab any of Fadheela's papers from over there?", indicating the stone counters that are still outside of the poisonous cloud's reach. If they need a password or map from that corner of the room, he wants to make sure that they grab it before the advancing cloud makes that impossible.
it seems like a couple of walls are lined with stone counters on which are scattered various objects, parchments, and other oddments. A slightly open curtain covers what must be an alcove in the southern corner.
Coriana's Eldritch Blasts fly wide, as does Khessa's, only grazing the Mezz. Avery does make it out of the darkness and hit the Mezzoloth. Syllen is able to dispel the darkness, but misses the Mezzoloth. Xanrym enters the next room, which looks to be a closet. Inside are a number of outfits that look to fit Fadheela as well as a large stone chest and a staff propped up against it. When he searches the north end of the room, he finds another secret door. Theldrin is able to search through the letters on the bench and finds a number of interesting looking letters that he pockets for later.
