Theldrin will cast Detect Magic as a ritual if the party agrees with Xanrym's plan. He offers his thoughts as they discuss what to do next, "I agree we should head back to the Inn at this point..." He continues as he thinks the situation over, "As far as the Rushmoors, we know there must be cultists coming and going from town to there so perhaps we can find a trail. Wolf Liarin might be able to pick up a scent, especially if trogs have gone that way. And Avery may know the area from patrols?"

Xanrym says, "I'm not sure how many villagers have been enchanted by the naga, but with Abramo, Misha, and Jocelyn captured or killed, it may be a blow to their leadership here in Orlane." He suggests, "It's probably safe to spend another day or two in Orlane: it'll probably take the cultists that long to get organized and ready to come after us. That gives us time to talk to Ramne and the Widow Merridie. The mayor seemed to think that they may know a lot about the town, its history, and the surrounding area." (See post #558 and post #547).
Once they're done searching, Xanrym gives Theldrin his potion of healing. It's already after dark, and Xanrym doesn't really want to wait too much longer to get back to the inn. He doesn't want to wait for a short rest, but he doesn't want Theldrin to be forced to fight any more guards in his current state.
It sure what the Investigation rolls are for, but you all get the feeling like there’s no one else going to disturb you in the temple tonight.
Liarin - The chests seem to hold no surprises when you poke them.
Theldrin - Cirilli knows of no secret doors. But when you look under some suspicious looking rags in the southeast corner, you do find a trapdoor that looks a lot like the one in Mishas room. You realise it would drop directly into that same room.
Xanrym - In the chests you find:
19gp
14sp
52cp
The naga statues seem pretty rough. As though carved more from obsessiveness than anything else
Unless anyone has anything else they want to do here. You could probably take Cirilli and Abramo out of the temple.
Before we head out, we'll make our lives easier by finding some clean cloth and stuffing it in Abramo's mouth as a sort of gag. That way, we can remove the blindfold so that he can walk more quickly, but he still cannot cast a verbal spell or call out for help (if there's even anyone else left in the temple).
I think that we'd go out the way we came: I guess it's easier to help Abramo down a flight of stairs vs. dropping him through a trapdoor with his hands and arms bound. That also gives Theldrin a chance to scan the weapons and any of Jocelyn's other possessions on the way out of the temple.
If the party can find a cloak with a hood or a hooded robe that's not blood-stained, Xanrym would throw that over Abramo so that it's not obvious from a distance that they've got a bound and gagged person with them.
So, the plan would be to go back out and down the stairs to the first floor. Then we'd go through the main worship space on the 1st floor and out the front door. It's dark outside, but we may just want to walk slowly in the moonlight without a light so that we don't attract any more attention. Alternatively, Xanrym could take his lantern and walk 30+ ft. ahead of the party so that he's in the bright light, but the rest of the party is only dimly illuminated.
IIRC, we'll be walking right past Mayor Ormond's house on the way to the inn. Xanrym asks the others whether they want to stop there to report back to Mayor Ormond despite the late hour. Or does everyone just want to take Cirilli and Abramo straight back to the inn?
Despite the long day, we'll still need to set a watch at the inn tonight, especially if we have Abramo in our custody. We wouldn't want the cultists in Orlane to sneak in and set him free. Xanrym suggests watching in pairs, like
Xanrym would like to try to see the mayor, just to let him know that the temple of Merrika had been entirely corrupted by the cult and to show him that they found Abramo and rescued Cirilli. (It's a bonus if the mayor would like to take Abramo into custody that night so that the party doesn't have to watch him over night.)
Xanrym would also ask the mayor to come to the inn early in the morning to meet with the party so that they can give him more details about what they found in the temple.
As you bind Abramo and gather Cirilli to lead them out of temple, a violent confrontation occurs. Cirilli picks up the priest’s mace and runs at him, looking to bash his head in. “You’ll never hit anyone again you ******* sick bastard!” She screams as she runs at him.
Anyone wanting to stop her must make a DC 10 Dex save to act before her.

Xanrym has been trying to keep Cirilli and Abramo separated (see previous posts). When he sees her grab the priest's mace, he tries to grab the mace too, to prevent her from swinging it or from getting closer to Abramo.
You quickly grab the mace and push her to the ground. She looks up at you, “He deserves to die! Do you think If you leave him alive he won’t kill us all? He’s insane.”
Avert attempts to get between her and the priest, "I understand, and if it wasn't for we need him alive to show the mayor how deep the corruption went, I'd allow you to bash his brains in. We need him alive, for now."

OOC: Good call, was going to suggest that as well.
I’ll let you all debate weather to go to mayor Ormond or not.
(OOC: up for seeing if we can meet with the mayor at this hour)

I'm fine either way with the mayor.

Cirilli looks beyond angry, but will listen to what you all say for now. She eyes Abramo off wearily.
If no one has any strong objections to seeing Mayor Ormond, that will be the next scene in a little bit.
(OOC: Yes, that's fine with me.)
