Ku casts mind sliver on the bloodied displacer beast. Intelligence Save DC 15 or take 8 psychic damage and subtract 1d4 on their next save until the end of Ku's next turn.
The displacers can now see that you will not be easy prey and they all disengage and leap up into the trees and scurry away.
You make it back to the village safely with your meat in tow. Great work!
How much meat were able to bring back? I can drag 1140lbs by myself! We should be able to bring back a nice haul!
I don't have an exact amount but enough to feed your people for a few days well.
Male African Elephants can weigh between 4,000 and 14,000 lbs, though I’m not sure how much of that is edible meat over bones, and although the Giant Boar are fantasy creatures, the fact they are Large means we can compare them to other Large creatures to estimate a rough weight based on similar sized creatures. Lions, and Horses are both Large, however a Lion is roughly 400lb and a sizeable horse can average at about 1200lbs. So between the extremes of a Lion and Horse we can find the median average that can be applied to the boar, which is 800lbs or the rough weight of a bear. Humans only really need 3-5 pounds of food a day and that includes other food groups aside from meat so really a single person will only be eating about 2 pounds of meat a day. So after a few calculations you’re averaging about 10600 lbs of animal carcasses but subtracting bones and intestines we can assume you only get half (5300 lbs) and since a person doesn’t eat much meat a day it should last a very, very long time if cured and preserved properly
*Zaupu walks into camp dragging a makeshift sled full of meat. He notices something is off with the tribesman today*
"What did we miss while we were hunting?"
"Some pompous bigwig thinks we owe him money!" says Tambor. "We're discussing what to do about that. Esseer says it's our right to roam and we should fight him if he persists. I'm inclined to agree."
She takes a gander at the meat of the hunt, "Good haul! You need any help with that?"
Zaupu gets excited when he hears the news. "Hell yeah we should fight! Finally a battle worth getting excited about! This land belongs to no one. How dare they try to tax us. We should fight for our right to be free!"
Esseer is drawn to the crowd gathering around the huge haul of meat being carried on the sled, and manages to make his way to the front where the hunting party and Tambor are standing, mostly because the majority of the tribes people seem to make space to avoid him as he comes forward. "This is an incredible hunt, what an excellent success, no wonder you were gone all day, this shall feed us for a good while to come!" His eyes are then drawn to the scratch and puncture marks on the armour of the hunting party, and lowers his voice to ask them 'I was wondering whether you ran into any monsters whilst out? As you may have heard, the local magistrate wishes to force us out of common land, and some of the tribe are prepared to fight for it. Our troops are strong, but the magistrates men, especially if he is backed by the Emperor himself, will outnumber us 10 to 1. It might be smart to look within the deeper woods to seek intelligent monsters that may be willing to fight as well to defend their home as our allies. That might be something we wish to consider, what do you think?'
[Nico, roughly what portion of the tribe is also willing to fight and what portion are willing to pay the tax/back down and leave?]
Thokk just smiles at the compliment to their hunt "Wait until you here about the displacer beasts we fought. Scared them right off, but the scouts may want to be careful heading out." as the situation of what occurred is described to them "If we fight, then let us feast so if we die, we die on full stomachs. These intruders will learn the law of survival from us."
"Die? What kind of talk is that? We are a strong tribe. They don't stand a chance!"
Esseer claps Zaupu on the back and laughs "I appreciate your courage, though we must not become arrogant! The magistrates men will outnumber us, and they are trained in ways that some of us can barely conceive. However, there is a disconnect with their weapons and their magic since all they do is view them as a tool, severing all ties to the natural world. If we could ally with the other tribes and monsters of this land, however, our strength would grow."
"If you go into battle thinking you might die, there is a high chance you will. Go in with confidence not arrogance! Talking about dying only builds fear in yourself and those comrads that hear you say it. That will lead people to make mistakes.
Under her breath Tambor finds herself humming along with Ku and having a rhythm to her walking. She feels tribal pride as Thokk hints at the tale of a valiant battle. As Esseer and Zaupu discuss she adds in her thoughts, "It is not fear to recognize the possibility of death, Zaupu. It is a part of life. And one day it becomes us all." she takes a glance over in the general direction of where she and the cleric dug graves earlier, "Besides, being overly arrogant is just as prone to cause mistakes as fear. Rather, we should acknowledge death but not fear it. The very land teams with the spirits of our ancestors. Draw courage from them. And be ready if you must join their masses."She waits for a moment before adding with a sly grin, "But of course it's much preferred that we make our enemies join their ancestors first."

So sorry I spaced. It's tough for me to see when Group 2's turn is completed. I was trying to see who's turn it was too.
Initiative:
Ku (Group 1)
Displacer Beaster << current turn
Thokk, Harbek, Zaupu (Group 2)
Waiting for Harbek's insight roll

That answer works for me! Thank you!
"Somebody please fill me in. What is going on here? Why does the air feel so tense?"
