Oriace quietly takes a seat at the bar and neatly transcribes the questions he and Mana discussed onto a fresh sheet of parchment. Once satisfied, he leaves the page beneath a small stone on the bar and opens the nearby window. Turning to the empty air, he speaks softly, “Lif, if anyone comes through that window tonight looking for this list, please be so kind as to give it to them.”
Which questions are they? Is it exactly as per Mana's questions? Or a combination of Mana and Oriace?
As the group brings up Toser’s absence again, Oriace frowns faintly. “He may be pursuing something personal—he’s not exactly the sort to give us every detail of his plans. Still, Sterling, Wagner—did he say anything to either of you before splitting off?” He turns to Mana next. “And nothing near his chest, no message or note?” (effectively questions to the DM)

You find Uza quite easily. And she is easy to identify as she is the only one who is upset areound. Uza describes the threat as a “monstrous orb of many eyes” that chased her cat, Fillipa, into the shop. Those of you present from the beginning recognise her description as a gazer much like you met in the sewers. Uza lends you the keys to the front and back doors of her shop, which she directs you too, not far from your location.

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
I wasn't sure if finding out their identities was still wanted or not. That is the main thing that was missing from Mana's questions that were with Oriace's
I thought it would be useful to track their steps if we have to start asking questions but having asked for revision, Oriace finds it disrespectful not to accept the revision as it is.

Wagner, feeling responsible for the mission, takes the keys and heads towards the front door. “Anyone have a brighter idea than just barging in? I intend to negotiate with the creature if it will let us.”

Mana shudders at the description of the orb of eyes. Mental machinations of vague recollections from stories told long ago. Beholders terrorizing the Underdark! Surely this couldn’t be happening. Those were just myths, right?
”Wait! You have faced one before? How did you survive? Aren’t they immense, the size of a coach and rain death upon all they gaze upon?”
Mana’s breath quickens and becomes quite shallow. Despite all the strides Mana has made recently to control his trepidations, he is beginning to work himself into a full blown panic attack.
(I’m honored you all would use my questions. My intent was to foster discussion to refine and brainstorm. Not straight up adoption. Mana again is grateful that this troupe has welcomed him and his quirkiness.)
Oriace stands by as Wagner opens the door in whichever way he finds most appropriate, encouraging him with an incantation (bardic Inspiration to Wagner!) and casts Aid on Wagner, Mana and Sterling.

Mana peeks through a shop window as Wagner approaches the door, keys in hand. If he can give him an update of what’s beyond the door, he will. Just then, a surge of protective magic tingles through him (Oriace’s Aid).
The house is a large house, spanning three floors. You look in and it looks trashed, the interior is in total shambles, but there is no sign of the gazer.
The only response is the sound of mewing coming from a higher floor. But it sounds less like a response and more like it was ongoing before you opened the door, and you can now hear it.
Oriace will follow Wagner, just one step behind, glancing to the sides.

"By the gods..." muttered Sterling as he crept inside, shaking his head at the damage, almost indignant at the thought of some alien horror treating books like trash to be tossed about. Even Jasper, perched on his shoulder, was uncharacteristically still as he stared.
It wasn't long before the bard heard the mewing; he and his familiar looked at each other, and with a nod of his master's head, the weasel leapt to the floor and scurried up the nearest stairwell in a flash.
(( Sterling will switch his perception to look through Jasper's eyes, eager to see what's going on upstairs. ))
Mana will bring up the rear, softly closing the door behind us. As everyone heads for the stairs, he quickly looks for something, anything, he can prop against the door which will fall easily and make a racket to alert us that someone is cutting off our retreat. He then quickly and silently returns to the group.
It is easy enough to prop something against the door. Jasper heads up and the mewing is coming from the third floor. As he carefully goes up, he sees the mewing is coming from the gazer, which is clearly what has been knocking everything down as it is hunting for the cat. I rolled him a stealth (19) and the gazer does not notice him.
Switching his senses back from his familiar, then barely turning his head to address the others, Sterling whispered while pointing with only a finger towards the stairs.
"Found him..." he said in a low voice. "He's upstairs. Trying to sound like a cat. If he comes this way, Jasper will sprint back towards us, but he hasn't noticed us.
“Something weird is afoot, why would he be chasing a cat? Is it really a cat? I think we need to get up there, talk, find out what’s happening and don’t let the cat escape.” Wagner will carefully ascend to the second floor with his eyes open.
