The scarecrow will retaliate against Wagner. First hit misses (10), second hit is a CRIT for 8 damage and a dc11 wisdom saving throw or frightened until the scarecrows next turn
Mana steps forward and attempts to douse the scarecrow with oil.
(DC 13 Dex save minus 1d4 on the save due to Bane)
(Noticed Sterling DID use his Bardic Inspiration in post #756)
Bonus Action: re-up the Bardic Inspiration for Sterling since he has a lit torch - Oriace also has a lit torch and is already Inspired by Sterling. Mana has a lit torch, sadly no Inspiration.
[[I just realized that by going in there with heroism up and not using fire, Wagner is effectively our tank. :) ]]
[[Concentration Con Save: 11; heroism make him immune to bear frightened.]]
Feeling the claws tear at his flesh, but bolstered by his spell, Wagner ignores the supernatural fear the creature is sending out, and continues hitting the creature.

"Good work, Mana!"
Eager to finish off the scarecrow, Sterling lunged into another attack.
ACTION:Attack with rapier * Rapier Thrust - Attack: 18, Mundane Piercing Damage: 6 (plus 6 extra on crit) * Will use the Bardic Inspiration from Mana, adding +2 to the attack, if the attack roll is on or between 4-9 BONUS: Bardic Inspiration to Mana
With the oil and the fire damage (12 damage total due to vulnerability), Wagner manages to then finish off the scarecrow, with Sterling ensuring it is most definitely dead. Good job.
Now are you off to the third one now or resting first?
“Heh, heh.” Mana laughs weakly. “We’re getting pretty good at this.” He pokes at the burning pile with the business end of his own torch, speeding its own demise. He wobbles noticeably as his adrenaline ebbs.
”Anyone hurt?” He asks knowing full well he couldn’t summon enough magic to heal anybody until after he rested. He smiles at each of the troupe when he catches their eye as he tries to ascertain if they wish to push forward without a rest. He tosses the half burnt torch on the dying flames and rummages through his much lighter sack, retrieving a new flask of oil and a fresh torch.
Oriace, bolstered by Mana's encouragement, furrows his brow in concentration. He steps away from the smoldering pile of the destroyed scarecrow, raising a hand as though to feel the air around him. "Let me see if I can get a sense of where the next one might be lurking," he says, his voice calm and steady. Drawing on the spark of inspiration Mana had provided, Oriace closes his eyes briefly, mentally piecing together the reports they'd gathered and the patterns of the scarecrows' movements.
He begins to trace a thoughtful path around the field, searching for tracks, signs of disturbed vegetation, or anything out of the ordinary. "These scarecrows seem to move with purpose, tied to specific areas. If we can determine their creator's design or intent, it might lead us straight to the third one," he explains as he scans the area. "Keep your weapons ready," Oriace adds with a small grin. "If my hunch is right, we might not have far to go."
Investigation: 18, including 2 from inspiration.

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sterling hid a half-smile as he cleaned and sheathed his blade. He hadn't expected things to go so well, but even so, he wasn't willing to claim success before the job was finished--he knew that was the most likely time for hubris to bite one on the rear.
He began picking through the ashes of the scarecrow, seeing if it was carrying anything of importance (that would survive fire,) and addressed Mana as he did so, not looking his way.
"I'm fine to continue to the next one, Mana, although I've nothing against resting first if needed. I've still got a bit of magic left if things get out of hand."
The scarecrow didn't seem to be carrying anything at all. Oriace, you are able to use the reported sightings to narrow down a likely location, which is about an hours walk away.
Oriace brushes the ash from his hands, his eyes glinting with determination as he turns to the group. "I think we should press on," he says, his voice steady but firm. "These scarecrows haven’t been the most difficult to take down, and we’re in a good rhythm now. Besides, we’ve got a solid lead on the third one’s location—about an hour’s walk from here. If we delay, there’s no telling what harm it might cause in the meantime."
He looks around at his companions, gauging their readiness. "I know some of us have spent a lot of our magic, but we’ve proven that together, we can handle these threats efficiently. And if we can put this problem to rest tonight, we’ll be saving others from getting hurt. I say we push forward and end this while we’ve got the momentum." With that, Oriace adjusts his gear and readies himself for the march. "Of course, if anyone truly needs rest, we can reconsider—but if you’re up for it, I think now’s the time to finish this."

Toser smiles as the group quickly dispatches the 2nd scarecrow. "I agree with Oriace. If we don't track the 3rd scarecrow now it could move off elsewhere or do other damage. Best we deal with it now."
“How are you feeling, Wagner?”Noticing he hasn’t spoken up. “I think you’ve taken the worst of it so far. Are you ready to continue?”
Mana looks supportively to Wagner but then turns to the rest. “I trust you all. If you said we were ready to descend into the depths of the Yawning Portal right now, I would suspend my disbelief and follow. I still have oil and torches, yet if all I had remaining was some tricksy Dancing Lights, I would still believe we had a fighting chance.”
Mana smiles again. He’s looking forward to expending his final Bardic Inspiration for the day on one of these fine fellows. Heroes all. He thinks to himself.
You have approximately 1 hour of daylight left, and a period of dim light during sunset before it gets dark. It's hard to see how much light the moon will provide currently.
Survival check with advantage from someome to find the last scarecrow.

(Maybe it’s because Toser and Mana are closer to the ground, and maybe Wagner stands a bit taller than all, but all three of us have +4 to Survival.)
Mana searches the skies on the different horizons and perks his ears, searching for disturbed birds, possibly frightened by a shambling two-legged mannequin of hay.
