When the kobolds quiet down , Lothar's nervous purring can be heard. (thoughts of being thrown in a pot, and broken up with a spoon.) realizing his perch is steady as a mountain, Lothar sits squats on Borvnir's shoulder to maintain an eye level height.
"Hello! Seems we arrived in time then. The fish warned me to something unnatural in the waters, but could not understand what." His purring switches to a friendly purring. "May I trouble you for kitchen privileges and supplies, especially meats, to prepare for the journey to investigate the temple? I haz coin!"
Elder Runara continues, "You are welcome to stay here for as long as you wish. I have a small cave that you can stay in, or you can feel free to rest at the temple of Bahamut. I hope that you will stay a little while, feel free to talk to any of the other residents here." She takes her leave, and the kobolds start to disperse as well, while a couple stay a little longer. "I'm sorry about them," one of the kobolds says to Borvnir before she leaves, "They don't have any self-control. I tried to stop them, but... well, you saw what they're like." She then walks away, shaking her head. Now that the kobolds have left, you can see a series of monastic cells cut into the wall. The first one seems empty, with just a hammock and a table inside. Next to that is a cell with a middle-aged human man working at an alchemy table, as well as a garden. After that, you see a cell with several weapons on the wall and a tall human woman, rivaling even the Dragonborn in height, training with a longbow and a target. Next to that one is a fourth cell, full of junk and clutter, with a winged kobold working on a craftbench. The last two cells are strung with four hammocks each, and the kobolds are filing into them. The path continues longer, around the edge of a cliff. What do you do?
Lothar leaps to the ground to chase the kobold that was addressing Borvnir, weaving around legs, popping up in front of her "HiYa! Who runs the kitchen here?"
"A cave sounds nice and cozy," comments Irtos. Though this cave isn't like to be as warm as the cave she was born in. She stays with the others for now to see where they go.
Lothar: The kobold looks shocked by your speed. "Uh, we kind of all take turns. I believe today is Laylee's turn." She gestures to a kobold who is scampering around, gathering stuff for the winged kobold in the one cell.
Irtos: The kobold hears what you said and points to the empty monastic cell, "It's over there. You can check it out and see what it's like."
Scampering on all 4s, Lothar makes his way to Laylee. "Hello, my name is Lothar. I heard the kitchen is yours tonight. May i offer you a hand cooking and cleaning in exchange for kitchen privileges? Also hoping to buy some meats for our journey." following her as he speaks.
Cherry and Borvnir, the open doorway looks into an empty monastic cell. It has a desk, a a stool, a nightstand, and a bed. The walls also have pegs and strings attached to them, which can be used to turn a bedroll into a hammock.
Lothar, Laylee smiles at you and says, "Only if your willing to tell me more about yourself. I hope you know how to cook, since I'm not very good at it."
‘Hmm. Looks like two people can share a cell if one takes the hammock and another takes the bed.’ Borvnir says to Cherry ‘If you’re happy to share, I reckon it’s best you take the hammock since I don’t think it’ll take my weight.’ Before waiting for answer, Borvnir unstraps his pack and hauls it into the bed.
I look inside the cave and seei Borvnir has claimed the bed. I do not want to mess with a hammock, so I find a dry flat area and lay down for my first good rest in days.
Borvnir sees Zinzenzax making themselves comfortable on the floor and says 'Not in the mood for a hammock? I would offer you the bed, but you snooze you loose!' He then stretches himself out on the bed, props his bag (with the zombie head in it) up on the nightstand and says to those in the room 'I'm going to catch some sleep now, I'll look around this place in the morning. If you wake me before 7, I'll chop off and eat one of your fingers.' He then turns around and promptly falls asleep for a long rest.
[Rhino, should I do the long rest on the sheet when I start it or finish it? Either way, I'm guessing it's probably about 9 o'clock now so Borvnir will sleep for 8 hours and then wake up at 5 whilst everyone else is hopefully asleep, spend some time investigating the head of the Great Undying One without anybody noticing (I'll make Stealth checks when it comes to it) and then will go back to bed until 7, to make it appear like he never left bed]
When Borvnir moves to take the bed Cherry snorts. "Och ye inconsiderate oaf." she mutters in Halfling.
She begins her preparations for the night. First stringing up her bedroll to the hammock. Then she gets to work fortifying the sleeping domicile. She opens her chest to take out a hammer and wooden stakes. Adds the rope from her backpack to that and begins to create a minor latticework at the entrance of the cave once all are inside. She then hangs a small holy symbol. "Some undead get antsy around these things." she explains if anyone asks. Next she takes out her two crowbars and weaves them into the latticework so that they'd jingle if disturbed.
Afterwards she takes out a vial of holy water, dips a small bit of tinder from her tinderbox in it, and sprinkles some drops on the rope latticework. She takes a look at the black dragonborn, thinks about it for a moment, and sprinkles a couple drops on the ground between him and her hammock too.
Finally she uses her staff to etch a pattern around her hammock resembling a fairy ring. She gestures at Borvnir, "He may be off to sleep but best keep eyes. I'll take the first watch if you want."
She looks at Zin sleeping on the floor, "Best not have you drowsy during your watch. Let's at least get your hammock for more padding." She'll help with taking it down so he ca use it as a roll/blanket of sorts.
[[ Thinking she'd have done some similar things of fortifying her cabin on the ship by tying the door closed and things like that, so not totally unexpected behavior from her. ]]
To clarify, there aren't hammocks in the room, there are just places where a bedroll can be hung like a hammock. I assumed Zin is just sleeping on his bedroll. Also, you are all free to take a long rest.
[[ Thinking she'd have done some similar things of fortifying her cabin on the ship by tying the door closed and things like that, so not totally unexpected behavior from her. ]]
[That definitely makes sense, she's already got good reasons to be suspicious of Borvnir in particular so sounds fine!]
Irtos is also fine spreading her small bedroll out of the way on the floor. She grew up sleeping on stone floors, soft beds are a luxury but not a necessity.
She does watch Cherry's elaborate preparations with keen interest.
When watches are mentioned, Irtos speaks up, "I'm good with taking a watch, any watch is fine."

Hearing about a temple to Bahamut Cherry feels more comfortable with the idea of a cave. She heads over to take a survey of it.

Borvnir also reckons a cave wouldn’t be too bad, he’s slept in worse. He then follows Cherry and Irtos to examine it.
