”Hello. We’re here for the maze. Lovely place you got here. The paint is an odd choice. Anyways, I’m Dundur, Dundur Frostbeard. Can I ask what we “will do nicely“ in?” I stand there looking like a tank of a person. Armored to the teeth.
As Jax enters the room, she looks curiously at the blue-skinned woman. The more she looks, the more there is to see. Admittedly she could feast her eyes on this Lady Crecum Capilli for an eternity, but the tabaxi had a hunch that lingering wouldn't be an option and so she tore her eyes off her. With ears always angled in the direction of her voice, Jax ran one paw over the wall, claws hooking into every piece of stone they ran over. Interesting. She hoped the maze would provide a wide variety of sights that she could take a closer look at. After all, this ought to be a once in a lifetime experience. Since she could hear the conversation Dundur and the good lady were having, Jax decided to check the full length of the walls to see if all of it were solid, or if it hid some secrets.
Lady Capilli speaks to Dundur and Astrid."Your names are of no consequence to me, nor your reasons for being here. I see you are a bit confused. I will shed light on the situation. I am on a mission from the Reptile Sorcerers of Nyctopolis - I am here to find a box..hidden somewhere in the Maze. Not just any box. This box is a prison, and inside is the Father of Psathyrella, Dendrosathol. You see, they don't get along, and after many eons, the Medusa tricked him and imprisoned him in that box. Imagine if he were to be released. But I digress."
She pauses, either to let all of this sink in, or she is calculating her words.
"I am a highly refined aesthete and connoisseur with a taste for strangeness and original beauty. I regard this Maze, its contents, and the relationships inside it as works of art. And you will get them for me. You will do nicely. I will offer to purchase anything you bring back to me as you explore this place."
Jax, as you look and feel the walls, you are amazed at how smooth they are, like they have a supernatural quality to them. Sometimes, you look at certain areas of how the walls meet, and you can swear your eyes are playing tricks on you, but..most of them meet at angles you're familiar with, and sometimes..not.
Keksi runs in, panting. She is not a strong kobold, and this mithral plate is heavier than she is used to wearing. "Sorry I'm late! I just heard something about the purchase of whatever we find in the maze. Sounds great!"
She just now notices that her spear has turned into a dagger. "Strange," she thinks, chalking it up to the magic of the maze.
She hopes she didn't miss some important revelation by the dragon woman while she was running in.
Due to the fact that im at the pool because it’s hotter than the devils armpit here in San Diego today, I will keep my answer simple.
The best way to describe it would be that the walls seem to be made out of stone, but what kind of stone, you do not know, what catches your eye is that sometimes the stonework is irregular and ungeometric. You do know that it is at least 8000 years old, perhaps much older.
One thing is certain, you have never seen this kind of stone before.
(Starting in the next room, you will find things that the Lady might wish to buy. The catch is, she will want a specific and different thing from each who wish to partake in this side quest. Remember, the more gold you make, the sooner you level up.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
ZONE 1 - THE HALLS OF CHRONIA
ROOM 2 - LADY CRUCEM CAPILLI
Lady Capilli addresses Astrid. 2, 1, 6"I want you to bring me a piece of art, with an amusing assessment of its flaws, by you. Do this, and I will reward you. Fail, and die. Those are the terms. Do you accept?"
Lady Capilli addresses Alira.1, 5, 1"I want you to bring me a piece of written history about this place. Here is some paper, and a pencil. Do this, and I will reward you. Fail, and I will have you do something else if that is..too hard. Do you accept?"
Percival isn't sure if he wants to entertain this woman's offer. For all he knows, her idea of art could be something grotesque. He'll at least wait and see if more of his party take up the offer.

Alira frowns but shrugs. "Should be easy enough depending on what we find." She murmurs.
"Should we continue on?", Keksi asked nobody in particular, not wanting to be the first to enter a new and likely deadly room.
Astrid: "What sort of baubles are you looking for, ma'am?"
