Vesta shivers as the apparition and its deep voice vanishes. "Was that...was that Vecna?" she asks in a hushed voice. "Gods alive..."
Zyl's voice brings her back to the matter at hand. "Yes, let's take this man into custody," she says in a much more authoritative voice, as if she's done this before, which she has on behalf of the Harpers. Not a Vecna-worshiping cultist to be fair, but she's hauled in her fair share of miscreants. "I'm not sure if we found everything of interest in this...lair? Sewer? But we can always return if necessary."
As the apparition vanishes, Dara feels the chill of its passage through his very soul. His heart pounds, and he looks around at his companions, "Is everyone okay?" He asks. "That was no ordinary encounter. We've been marked by him..." He trails off, not knowing what it entails exactly. He touches his amulet, gaining composure, then goes to help others take the cult leader with them.
Zyl nods, "I'll be all right!" She looks a little shaken still, but her perennial smell of brownies returns and ready to cart the body back and be on their way.

The hair on the back of Celeste’s neck raises and she shudders. Prrt. Big green eyes blink post explosion, then she immediately starts trying to huff the smoke wisps as they go by as if worried she’d miss the smell.
Roll: 6 (rolled in log)
“Hey…” Celeste notices after Dara mentions it. “Consent before marking!” She chastises the empty dispersed air uselessly. Then as if immediately forgetting about it she bobs and looks to Dara “I’m okay! Thank you.”
Celeste trots back to the group. Was that all that was there? No hidden doors or compartments? Celeste wondered. Not that she wanted to stay here longer than she needed too.
Your group takes the cult leader into custody. On the way out you check the other room - the one that smelled of old wool and decay. It seems to be a bunkroom, and although nobody is there, it appears some number of people left not long ago - and in a hurry! (the other cultists ran away shortly after the fight started!)
DC12 Investigation of the room:
You find two gray cultist robes and three gaudy jeweled rings worth 10 gp each. If your check succeeded by 3 or more (so 15 or higher!), you also find a Hat of Disguise tucked beneath one of the unused cots. No cheating if you didn't roll high enough ;-)
Lord Neverember is grateful for your efforts and pays each of you a base sum of 100 gp for the job, plus an additional 25 gp each for capturing Zalryr alive.
This ends the adventure - congratulations on beating the other team to the finish =) It also works out that I am heading out to visit family for a week, so I'm happy to wrap this up! If I decide to run the full Vecna campaign, I'll let you know. Thanks for being a great group - I really enjoyed how you played your characters!! See y'all around the boards!
Sniff sniff, snort. Huff huff. Sniff sniff. Celeste easily sifts through the smells of old wood and decay, locking on a scent or two. First she'd poke around the boring grey robes. Ouu shiny! Picking up the shiny rings, she looks at them briefly before chomping down and gnawing on each one. Hmph! Not food. Sniff sniff. Huff huff. Ping! The druid's head turns to the cot. She crouches into a prowl, then pauses. Then with a little wiggle, she pounces and slides her upper half under the bed. Got it!
Coming out from under the bed, Celeste looks proud of finding something. She holds it up to admire it before placing the hat upon her head. Then with a bob she gets up and trots with a happy sway to catch up to and follow after the group. "I found things!" She's excited to present her findings to and share with anyone still listening to her.
((Huh! Yes, yes, thank you for the game... I expected it would be a little bit more than this but *shrug* Still, nice taste of what is to come from the bigger adventure. Fun and amusing group too! I am sure I will see you all around the forums in other games and such... I will say the highlights were Zyl, the tiny ball of fury who wasn't always so tiny and Celeste who I was never sure if she was in animal form or not when sniffing around and wriggling and all. Truthfully I found it more amusing to assume not. lol))

((Huh! Yes, yes, thank you for the game... I expected it would be a little bit more than this but *shrug* Still, nice taste of what is to come from the bigger adventure. Fun and amusing group too!
