im meta (she/her) my favorite class is cleric but my favorite sub is probably glamour bard i can be on and post most days (unless i forget :[ ) ive been actively playing for probably 4 or 5 years and have some decent experience ive already built a sheet (playing a kipling but i dont have the race on ddb ;() its a twilight cleric grappler build if you dont want to read it
The sheet looks good! But make sure you pick something other than strixhaven :) it’s on the ban list
a remnant of me being lazy and reusing an old sheet :|
Your preferred name and pronouns Shawn / He Favorite class and subclass I like the cleric class, favorite subclass is probably Fighter battle master, then Life cleric How active you'll probably be I can post daily no problem Your experience level with DND 5e Seven or Eight years with 5e, Mostly DM'ing, also playing. In person/online, getting into PBP more recently. Original and 3.5 editions in the ... past :) (Optional) A character concept or design you have in mind A Clarifel Eldritch knight. Perhaps his horn is broken/cursed and he is trying to repair it. Add a bit of wild magic to his casting? just a thought, not required. :) A Gahii Eldritch knight (or arcane trickster) who keeps strange things inside his body (TBD what strange things)
Would want to play one of your races but open to a class the party needs.
OHHH, SICK!! How uh... How willing would you be to allow to play a House Listonia member..? Or someone adjacent? Completely fine if its a no :))
Sure!

Come to me all ye who seek salvation in wording thy brews! Open to homebrew trades at any time!! Or feel free to request HB, and Ill see if I can get it done for ya! Characters (Outdated)
I think there is so much potential in post war character and societal explorations, and the opportunities for very rich roleplay and storytelling are incredible here.
Your preferred name and pronouns: Chris (he/him)
Favorite class and subclass: tough call. Rogue mastermind would probably edge them all out though.
How active you'll probably be: daily
Your experience level with DND 5e: 5ish. 35 years total going back to AD&D
(Optional) A character concept or design you have in mind: definitely the scarred soldier. He’s seen and done things he’s not proud of but has one particular blemish on his soul that he’s having trouble getting past. Old soldier might be a fighter or a valor bard or a paladin or a war wizard. He fought in the war on the front lines.
I prefer the concept of proactive playing, meaning the players have an agenda and goals that drive them and the story.
I also wonder if you will be playing in this forum or on another platform. D&d beyond is not very mobile friendly, and it challenges the immersion since it doesn’t allow character names/avatars. But I’m interested enough that I’d like to throw my hat in just the same.
**Your preferred name and pronouns** Ursus (or Bryan). He/Him
**Favorite class and subclass** That's tough. Artificer (Armorer or Battlesmith). Maybe Sorcerer (Divine Soul). I like to have options, get into melee, and play complex classes. I tend to avoid support and subtlety. Honestly there's like six other classes I could call my favorite depending on the parameters.
**How active you'll probably be** At least daily. Realistically 2-3 posts a day.
**Your experience level with DND 5e** Coming up on ten years now. Started with 3rd edition . . . oh no, I'm old now.
"*A character concept or design you have in mind**
I usually like to see what other applicants are playing and then adjust my ideas to fit. The mention of technological advancement really makes me lean towards artificer, though I prefer magitek over steampunk. Could you give me a quick rundown on the gith, lizardfolk, and warforged of Zaidan? Those are my favorite races, but I'm also considering Nephilim.

Sure!
Gith in Zaidan are separated into Githzerai and Githiyanki, the Githzerai being the force that sided with the fey and predominantly live in the northern continent or feywild. The Githiyanki are the ones that allied with the human population, and they’re more akin to aberrations. Githiyanki usually serve as Underdark navigators and lead patrols across the northern wall to make sure the area is safer for others to follow. Most Githiyanki are employed by the government and serve in the military.
Lizardfolk are reclusive and solitary, not usually finding homes within cities or settlements. They’re careful trappers and hunters, usually harnessing their natural connection with nature by working as rangers and druids. Much of their territory is shared by the yuan-ti, which causes a sort of rivalry between them. Lizardfolk are also usually hired as shepherds and cattlemen/cowboys.
The only warforged that exist in Zaidan currently are those created by kiplings, usually only as sentries to watch their camps and occasionally for battle. Their main function is to record information and become knowledge keepers, each warforged sort of acting as a library.

Okay. I have a few ideas. Most prominent is Trydith.
Trydith is a githyanki artificer. Surviving and thriving in Zaidan requires innovation and a rejection of the orthodox. Trydith's ideas about weaponry and automation are not ready for mainstream adoption yet, but he thinks they'll give him an edge if he needs to cross the Northern Wall. Some of his ideas might not be his own - the influence of aberrant entities is not so easily shut out. I imagine him as a Battle Smith, depending on what firearm rules you use, if you approve them for this concept. Otherwise I could easily see him as an Armorer. My main reservation is that Artificer didn't benefit from Tasha's optional rules at all and is already on the lower end of the power scale. Keeping a 'decent bit of optimization' in mind, I am afraid he'd look a little. . . modest. . . next to the Wizards, Paladins, and Clerics.
Backup
I was also intrigued by the mention of genetic experimentation and was pondering some sort of posthuman allegory. To an extent, that can be done with race, but I couldn't really think of a class that really captures 'physical perfection' in the way I intended. Maybe Barbarian, but I don't want him to be 'angry' and 'primitive'. If you don't like Trydith, I could explore this concept further.

Preferred name: LAX on the forums, pronouns are he/him
Favorite class and subclass. A bunch to choose from, I have played almost all the classes at one point over the years, but I think my favorites are Ranger and Sorcerer. I like have options both in and out of combat. One of my favorite characters I have ever played was an Aberrant Mind Sorcerer.
I am fairly active on the forums. I can usually post daily if the pace of the story supports it, and definitely every 1-2 days. Life sometimes gets in the way, but I try to communicate ahead of time if that happens.
Long time D&D fan, I have been playing off and on for years but only discovered the PbP forums within the last few years.
I am pretty flexible with the class and role I can play and I enjoy the opportunity to put something together that fits the style and the needs of the party. That being said, I would definitely make use of some of the great character options you created for your world. A few ideas, but flexible on all of them.
A Syrafin Artificer (Artillerist). They love to tinker and create new inventions, especially ones with a bang. Solved a lot of problems in the war with the application of explosives, now it is time to see if those skills translate over to peacetime. A chaotic spirit, but genuinely curious about most things.
A Nephalim sorcerer, probably clockwork soul based on heritage from the plane of Mechanus. They prefer order in all things, so not always great to have at parties, but if they learn something is off about this victory and learn of hidden secrets, they will stop at nothing to put things right and restore order.
A Kipling Ranger. The protector. A good-hearted adventurer who fights evil to protect both the natural surroundings and civilization. A Horizon Walker might be interesting with the Imperator sealing off the world from extraplaners, they might be tasked with hunting down those that are trapped here.
Your preferred name and pronouns: Harknail, pronouns to match the character (Harknail character appears male).
Favorite class and subclass: Want to try them all!
How active you'll probably be: Post at least once a day, will check and respond a couple times a day.
Your experience level with DND 5e: Been playing D&D since before AD&D, have at least played every version of D&D and Pathfinder since (and many other systems). I've been playing and running 5e since it was released.
(Optional) A character concept or design you have in mind: I like new and unusual races/classes. I'd want to play either a Clarifel or a Nephalem. I've read a series of novels about an unicorn girl, and a web novel I'm currently reading has the Main Character becoming a Nephalem. No specific class in mind, but probaably some kind of healer for Clarifel and mixed melee/caster for the Nephalem.

Your preferred name and pronoun - Kevin. Pronouns, he/him
Favorite class and subclass- Always loved rogues and sorcerer types. Most recently multiclassed with Aberrant Mind Sorc/Mastermind Rogue.
How active you'll probably be- Daily mostly, but sometimes less than that.
Your experience level with DND 5e-I’ve played a few years of 5e. Played decades of DnD in my life. PbP is a favored medium of gaming based on lifestyle demands. Hard to get to a table these days.
(Optional) A character concept or design you have in mind-Nephalem Hexblade Warlock sounds fun. Thinking maybe a Spec Ops type character during the war rather than front lines grunt. (Assassinations, sabotage, etc). Patron could be Shadowfell in nature, or maybe some mostly hidden, shadowy power that lurks but remains out of the spotlight while their lieutenants carry out their plans…I’m open to suggestions with that. Also wanted to try Shadar-Kai out as a race too…I’m open to either :)
Name/Pronouns: Online I use Foox, and my pronouns are she/her:))
Favorite class and subclass: I’m chronically a swashbuckler rogue, love them:))
How active you'll probably be: I can’t say how active, I’ve busied myself with work and volunteer, but I’ll try to be on!
Your experience level with DND 5e: I think I’ve got a decent experience level? I’m still learning a lot, though, and I haven’t used the forums at all, so that’ll be new for me
I don’t have a character idea yet, but I’ll try to come up with some soon! Maybe some sketches eventually
