When Dirtbrain hears the tabaxi mention 'meowtside' she hops up into the air. "There! There they are!" She points wildly towards the pair of tabaxi. She's very eager to run over to them but does manage to hold herself back a little and wait for most of the group. "We found them MEOWtside! We should talk to them. See what they have to offer. And..." She looks around at the group. "Who's our negotiator? I'm good at talk talking. But not at important talking."
"OOOOH! Hahahaha! 'eowt'-side sounds like OUTSIDE! That's 'retty funny! I like these two.", Yabo says, chuckling as he catches up to what the rest of the party realized before departing the inn.
"I can do the talkin'. Just gotta show you're all 'usiness.", the tortle says confidently, striding towards the two tabaxi.
((I'll give other players a chance to chime in before he addresses the tabaxi, in case anyone would rather be the one to speak up.))

Morax rubs his chin, saying “Yeahhhh. Well, my thick shelled friend, let me talk to them, at first. You can add in, if you wish, but sometimes ah… you’re a little difficult to understand. How does that sound?” Morax looks to Dirtbrain for confirmation, then walks ahead to speak to them. “Hello, good chaps, how are you? We saw your sign, we are here, my companions and I, Morax, pleased to make your acquaintance. We are looking around these parts for a guide, someone to lead us into the jungle, on an adventure. Can you tell us about your services, why we should choose you two as opposed to some of those other chaps?” As he speaks to them, Morax watches for any telltale signs, any sign of deception, prevarication, exaggeration, or misrepresentation.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Yabo slows his pace, letting Morax step forward first, flanking him a bit behind. He gives the tabaxi a turtle grin, and occasionally can still be heard chuckling to himself over 'meowtside'.

The two tabaxi turn to look at each other and then back to you. The female tabaxi steps forward with a smile.
"Welcome, welcome! If you seek guides, you have come to the right place. My name is River Mist, and this is my brother Flask of Wine," she says. "Why should you choose us? Well for the simple reason that we are not in the pockets of the Merchant Princes! We have the best rates in all Port Nyanzaru, and we know this peninsula like the back of our paws!"
Flask of Wine seems content to let his sister do most of the talking, but he nods his agreement at her words. "Most guides require a steep advance," he chimes in. "We do not. We are confident in our abilities, and we do not bilk our customers. We ask only 4 gold pieces per day for our services."
"Even better than that we will waive our fee entirely if you give us an equal share in any treasures you find!" River Mist adds, her eyes gleaming at the mention of treasure. "What do you say?"
Morax does not detect any deceit or prevarication from the tabaxi. They seem earnest and eager for new customers.
"Think it was 'Etra. Where'd she get to?", Yabo cranes his neck, looking for the little gnomish wizard.
((MightyOwl and ikarbino haven't posted on the forums in a bit, hope they're still around! I knew MAOShea/Visham got abducted by some anti-yuan-ti contingent in the city or something...))
Morax says “Let’s hire these fellows and make our way forward! The curse waits for no one, and we are the only ones to stop it! River, Flask, lead on. What supplies would you recommend that we purchase? Everyone else willing to get a move on? Hmmmm?”

"Yes!" says Dirtbrain, jumping up and down. "River and Flask should be great companions!" She then comes over to Morax, lowering her voice. "You think we just make 'em a part of our group? Split stuff with them? Seems like the most respectful way to treat them."

Dirtbag had nodded to Morax as he looked to her for confirmation. She hangs back near Yabo, casually listening to the conversation with the tabaxi.
