As the key turns in the lock magical light gleams in the statues eyes, and a shimmering bridge made of iridescent magical energy extends from the overlook to the Observatory. In the sunlight it gleams golden and whilst solid you can see through it to the sea below.
The bridge arcs across the water to the central rotunda ruins.
Broken stone lines this plaza - fragments of elegant statues, once magnificent pillars, and shining marble walls. At the centre a tall sculpture of rusted planets and gilded stars spins idly in a jerky mimicry of celestial motion.
A gargled screech suddenly arises from across the plaza. A half-dozen batlike creatures are swarming around two winged kobolds with blue paint smeared across their long snouts. The kobolds are fighting fiercely but they seem to be close to being overwhelmed.
Barakas recognises them as Mek and Minn, Mylas brothers. Loyal to Sparkrender.
You all recognise the batlike creatures as being the same that you encountered in the Seagrove caves, they are blood drinking Stirges. Creatures like this were responsible for Mylas scars.
( OOCThe 8 stirges are across the rotunda, easy to snipe with bows. 4 to each kobold.)
Two stirges fall beneath the arrows. They fall shrieking to the ground and then silence. The other six notice you, and 4 head your way whilst the others attack the kobolds wings determined to cripple them.
DM
Both Barakas and Krack fiddle with the base of the two statues and find a hexagonal hole. It looks like the key that Krack has should fit
Krack
"I've been really good at finding things recently" he says proudly, to no one in particular.
He looks around at the other and pulls out the key, we all ready?
"Oh, here" and he will give Shayla, Barakas, and Theodor each two Krack berries, and one to Beans.
Then he will insert the key unless someone gives him reason to pause.
Barakas
He nods and says "Lets goooo big boy. Bring it home"
Theodor
He gives Krack a big smile, "My thanks, Kobold friend. Let us do this."

Krack
"A magic bridge! Come on Beans, follow me ... and my magic boots!" and Krack will begin to cross the bridge, with his drake companion.
Shayla
"Hmm..." she toes the bridge before stepping upon it. Then seeing her companions dash across, she follows rapidly.
"Sooner or later, your Players are going to smash your railroad into a sandbox."
-Vedexent
"real life is a super high CR."
-OboeLauren
"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
-Ilyara Thundertale
Theodor
Theodor follows his fellow party members, trusting Runara's magic bridge will hold.
He squeezes the grip on his shield a little tighter as they approach the observatory.
Barakas
He happily crosses de bridge while flipping his coin. He holds the robe hoping to protect his friend and to hurt those who hurt Myla
