As one of the last to enter Tengen sees the others preparing to go upstairs but she pauses before doing so seeing other rooms that haven't been checked yet. "I'm going to make sure nothing is hiding down here" she says to the others.
She then moves to the doorway which leads back to the front of the house, next to the staircase whilst muttering under her breath and bringing forth her holy symbol which now glows with a bright light and is held in her hand, partially shielded by her cloak. She doesn't open the door as she waits for the others to reach the top of the staircase first.

"Hold on..." Muirdan begins to tell Arkanon, before watching him clank up the stairs. "Ruddy Tieflings," he mutters, adding a quiet prayer to Dumathoin before clanking after him.
Muirdan casts Guidance on himself, before trudging afterwards.

Arkanon couldn't help but wince at the noise he was making; so much for stealth he said to himself, whatever creature was in the house was sure to hear all the metal clanging Muirdan and he were making. At the mention of children's parents however, he gave a pause and looked back down frowning. This place was indeed strange, more and more questions were tumbling in his head. Still, he ground his teeth and looked up above at the spiral staircase trying discern what he could see.

Grythek was awaken when the others came to their senses and found the weird fog around them. He seemed alert and tense
"This smells dangerous and weird " was the only words he spoke. Once they found that the trees were different and the merchants were gone, he ran in front of the group, wearing his cape hood off, and already wearing his leather armor, searching for tracks of the merchants. It wasn't long untill he found the village, but didn't entered it because it smelled like fear and sorrow. He went around the village instead, and walked into the woods, a thousand feet away from the village. He then kneeled at ground, checking again for tracks and seeing none. He then went towards a rock, smell it, then he leaned his ear towards the trunk of a pine. He spent like one minute like that, smelling the dirt, listening to the air, trying to find out what's wrong with this land and why they were on it. That's when he heard a door opening, the very first sound from the village. He went running towards it, and saw the big house with the doors open.
He quietly enters the mansion and follows the now recognozible voices of his companions. He, still, doesn't reveal himself yet.
Grythek, as you tried to leave the village, unfortunately, the mists swirled up around you. If you continue into the woods, please make a Constitution save for every 50 feet away from the village you travel.
Well not wanted to go very far away, just trying to make a pausible explanation why he hasn't participated on the first three pages of the thread until I was able to catch up ;) Let's say he was just at the outskirts of the village when he heard them entering the house and going back to join them.
Grythek manages to enter the building just as half the party is preparing to head upstairs and Tengen is making towards another room. Which group do you join or are you heading into another area altogether?
Following Arkenon, Milamber climbed the stairs looking around to see if anything stood out to him as he climbed. He wondered what the children could be referring to in regard to the "monster" they spoke of.

Rosa literally goes up the stairs without pausing at the second floor, trying to ignore the two armor clad people clanking up with him. He checks for any sound or movement. (He's looking for a sign of the kid)
Arkanon follows Rosa upstairs, his shield up and sword at the ready in case anything decides to surprise them. At the landing for the second floor, he hesitates as he wonders if there's anything there, but decides to go up with Rosa. Should anything be there, they'll have the higher ground regardless.

(I'm going to pause Arkanon, Rosa, Milamber, and possibly Muirdan at the top of the stairs to the third floor briefly while we handle Grythek and Tengen. I'd like to know where Grythek is headed first. :) )
Grythek, you can see clearly that Tengen is crouched near another door as the clanging of your compatriots heads up the stairs. Hurrying along, you quickly find yourself in total darkness once you hit the second floor, along with Milamber. Does anyone upstairs light a torch?
Tengen, as your erstwhile ranger compatriot hurries up the stairs behind you, you twist the handle open on the door and push it into the next room. As you direct your light into the room, you see this seems to be some kind of hunter's den. A large stag's head hangs over the fireplace off to your left. A pair of fur-draped padded chairs flank a small oak table in front of the hearth. A cask, a candelabra, and some other assorted objects sit atop the small table.
Across the room from where you stand, a cloth-covered table surrounded by four chairs sits beneath a chandelier made of antlers.
Immediately in front of you, and off to your left are a pair of cabinets. No fire flickers in the hearth, and as with everything else, there are no lights currently burning. You can see oil lamps in sconces along the walls. Unlike the other rooms so far, this one has windows! Unfortunately, the closed shutters block the limited sunlight from outside.
Since Rosa is pretty sure that anyone inside this house heard the circus of armored men clomping up the stairs, he will forget about stealthiness, and cast light. He takes his hand, and runs it through his white hair, which causes it to shed a shining white light around him. He'll then go to the third floor, and open each door in search of this small child that needs to be out of the house with the monster inside it.

Muirdan stays with Rosa, as pretty boy was right about the mist, and probably has a good idea now.
"Seems empty, I'm coming with you lot." Tengen calls up to Grythek as he ascends the staircase.
She closes the door to the room and moves to the foot of the stairs, ascending if there is room to do so.
