Esta, feeling goosebumps upon her flesh, shivers audibly as she turns to Zakhar. "They give me the creeps, it looks like the are conversing but.. well just look at them. They give me the ick."
Esta stops browsing the goods, clearing her throat to the party. "I suggest we make leave, before our presence her is noticed." she says, whilst glancing over at the individuals.
If you're done shopping, you can keep making your way toward the statue, being careful to avoid any Harmonium officers along the way. As you get close to the base of the statue, the gem like key begins to glow and shimmer slightly, until you are standing in front of a portal of swirling energy. As you take in this event, you hear off in the distance, "Hey! There they are! Get them!"
(OOC - Your post #552: Once you are done shopping here shortly, I will ask everyone for a Skill Check of your choice (like stealth) to make it to the statue without being caught by the Harmonium. I was assuming you still wanted that once we were done shopping.)
Sizzle would finish packing away his items and follow his companions. When the portal begins to open his eyes go wide. The goblin moves closer as though looking to study the portal before he hears the shouts behind them. "I hope this doesn't hurt..." The goblin grumbles before leaping through the portal.
Tyriel, still at a loss for what to even start looking for, notices Zakhar and Esta's attention veering away from the vendors. "What are you..." he frowns at the strange pair, unsure what to make of them. His thoughts are interrupted however when the group moves on and arrives at the statue only to hear words that announce they've been found out. A chill shoots up his spine, a sensation that Tyriel has rarely ever felt. It causes him to freeze up momentarily, an expression of shock painted on his face. That expression is quickly pushed away by irritation, "Tch, well come on then. If we are running from the law we'd better not get caught."He steps towards the portal, intent on never having to answer the question of whether or not he'd be willing to break out of jail. Then he enters the portal along with the others.
Zakhar nods to Esta, "I agree -" And is cut off by the call off in the distance. "Blast it," He mutters and motions for Esta to follow just as Tyriel says his piece. Then he rushes to meet up with the others and enter the portal.
And so you all hasten through the open portal, leaving behind (at least for now) the city of Sigil and your would be captors...
((Congratz everyone, you made it through another chapter! Everyone, level up to 6! Don't forget your alternate versions if you want! Story continues below! :) ))
You find yourself standing amid ruins of weathered black marble. The last recognizable remnant of these ruins, a solitary stone archway, provides a frame for the portal you just passed through. Glittering, deep-blue sand spreads before you in all directions. Great impact divots mark the passage of something enormous. The trail leads toward a sudden transition in the terrain, where a forest of magenta trees climbs craggy hills that look like wizened faces.
Much farther in the distance, an impossibly tall stone spire stretches from the horizon into the clouds.
Esta hears the guards shout for them, and Zakhar beckoning Esta into the portal. "You don't need to tell me twice!"Esta says, with one last glance, takes a deep breath and steps over the threshold.
As she emerges on the other side, she stands in awe at her new surroundings, taking note of the tracks and large structure in the distance. It is a moment or two before she remembers that they were being chased through - so she spins on her heels and readies her bow, in case they are followed.
She will stand here until she no longer believes they will be followed.
"What is THAT!?!" Sizzle shouts as the massive tower comes into view. "I wonder what kind of propulsion system enables that thing to move? It's huge..." The goblin continues as his mouth hangs open in amazement.
Looking about the place a bit, Halila places the 'key' for the gate back into her pouch. "Certainly is an... interesting place here." She slowly makes a full rotation as she looks from the arch, the sand, the forest, and the tall spire. "Where do you suppose we look for this R04M?" she asks. "I guess towards those magenta trees?"
"Guess these tracks were a machine or magical device," Halila says after examining the divot marks. "Maybe that's what we're looking for? Sounds like another vote for heading towards the magenta forest."
Sizzle nods in agreement. "Yes, a large mechanical creature for sure.." After a few moments he looks back towards the large tall spire. "Looks like we are a long way from Sigil" he adds with a grin. "I need to learn how to make a few of these portals for myself."
Following the obvious tracks then, traveling for about an hour or so perhaps. Then, amid a grove of strange trees stands an ornate tower. Around it, toppled pillars lie scattered. A short stairway rises from the ground to a stone terrace, where six openings lead into the structure.

(Anyone can make a Survival check to try and pick up the trail. An Arcana check might help you know what the spire is.)
Survival, DC 12:
The tracks before you weren't made by animal, but by some large magical device or machine.
Arcana, DC 10:
The stone spire in the distance marks the center of the Outlands, atop which would sit the city of Sigil.
(Halila Survival: 16, Arcana: 8)

Of course, both of those 'votes' were from her!
