You start your journey back then, through the seemingly random, twisted, chaotic streets of the Inverse, carrying Beltha back to stand before whatever council Automata employs and decide her sentence, and hopefully finally gain access to the portal, allowing your mimir to download the missing information. It still takes several hours, and as you navigate this slightly unusual location and approach the stairs that bend oddly to return to the surface of Automata, Beltha begins to stir from her unconscious state.
Eithne is busy orienting herself in the seemingly random, twisted, chaotic streets of the Inverse, so, even though she realizes that Beltha is beginning to stir from her unconscious state, she doesn't stop what she's doing and simply warns her companions: "The prisoner is waking up... be on your guard, just in case she has powers that she can activate even while she's tied up."
"Her hands are tied?" Jesa asks, more verifying from earlier. "Perhaps a gag, in case she could cast a spell." She keeps back from those caring the woman, ready to help out if something happens.
Faith moves up behind Eithne (or appropriate position if Beltha isn't slung over a shoulder) and prepares her mace. "If she tries anything, I'll gently knock her out again. If she just talks, I don't mind hearing what she has to say."
{If possible, Faith will keep a readied action to bonk Beltha if she tries casting a spell.}
As you get even closer to the twisting stairs that curve abnormally, make a Perception check, DC 18:
There is a quiet shuffling nearby that seems to stop when you do. The smell of something foul and vaguely familiar hits you and you catch a glimpse of clothing, perhaps a scarf, ribbon or similar on your party being pulled.
As the group moves forward Hypnos casually muses to himself as to why there would be others attempting to hide from them. Shocked by the sudden revelation Rogferr quickly puts Beltha on the ground before getting the other's attention. Pointing to the location Hypnos mentioned.
“It seems that we have unwanted guests.”
As the group decides how they wish to precede Rogferr will cast Blade Ward on himself.
Eithne hadn't noticed anything, but the sudden words, "It seems we have unwanted guests," make her stop dead in her tracks.
'You need to be more careful, Eithne!' the Voices in her head scold her. 'After everything we've been through!' 'We almost got killed!' 'We without the 'almost,' to be honest.' 'I don't think you all noticed anything either!' the Lone Survivor replies.
"Where?" asks the Savage Wanderer, raising her shield and drawing her shortsword.
Esta slows her movement, looking at some in the group who have averted their eyes to something, but what, Esta is not sure. She pauses, looking around, "I see nothing, are you sure we are being followed? Maybe it is this place playing tricks on our minds..."
Unfortunately,, while you have deduced there is someone nearby, I don't think anyone can see invisible creatures as you watch more bits of clothing start to get tugged at, as if someone, is trying to take your splashiest, most colorful or flashiest item of clothing or decoration.
Realizing that there are invisible enemies (or at least harassers), Eithne briefly focuses and, for once, she contacts the Voices in her head: 'Be my wings!' 'Of course, Eithne!' 'We won't let you down!' ...and the enthusiasm and determination of the voices of the tribe's slain elves comes into focus, activating the Lone Sruvivor's magical boots, which takes flight and attempts to reach an altitude out of reach.
The Savage Wanderer, as soon as she stops feeling her clothing get tugged, readies her Longbow and threatens: "Go away and leave us alone!" and prepares to shoot arrows in the direction where some robes are being pulled (for example: if 'something' is pulling a corner of Gimble's robe southward, she aims for a point about a meter south of Gimble).
Realizing that there was something invisible trying to steal from them, Faith incants a prayer while gesturing with one hand and brandishing her shield (with the emblem of her god painted on it). She designates everyone in the party as well as Beltha as not being affected by the spell she's casting. Spectral angels start flying around Faith, attacking anyone she didn't designate as not to be touched. Being spectral angels, they aren't affected by invisibility.
Casting Spirit Guardians to zap anything unseen with radiant energy
Protective spirits flit around you in a 15-foot Emanation for the duration. If you are good or neutral, their spectral form appears angelic or fey (your choice). If you are evil, they appear fiendish.
When you cast this spell, you can designate creatures to be unaffected by it. Any other creature’s Speed is halved in the Emanation, and whenever the Emanation enters a creature’s space and whenever a creature enters the Emanation or ends its turn there, the creature must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 3d8 Radiant damage (if you are good or neutral) or 3d8 Necrotic damage (if you are evil). On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage. A creature makes this save only once per turn.

Gimble is also oblivious, but trusts his companion and prepares to cast negative image on the intruder if he sees them

Gimble will cast Dispel Magic (not sure how you want to work out the logistics there)
Realizing that there was something invisible trying to steal from them, Faith incants a prayer while gesturing with one hand and brandishing her shield (with the emblem of her god painted on it). She designates everyone in the party as well as Beltha as not being affected by the spell she's casting. (I think since Gimble can't see the target, and it isn't a magical item or effect, Dispel Magic would not be useful at the moment.)
{I'm figuring an area spell will affect invisible targets, even if it's described as spectral angels flying around.}
(It might! :) )
