The first arrows splashes into a wet and acidic substance. The second arrow delivers a more traditional wound. The image of the nearby Beholder becomes completely static for a moment but then resumes its in-place movement and hovering. (Brutish Man {Y-70} takes 22 piercing and acid damage.)
Hurt and bleeding, Neya moves to catch up to her companions. One of the last things Neya sees before entering the cave is the muscled woman member of the Gray Patriots leaping over the gap between the statue's shoulder and the ledge CRAP had been standing on. She is fast and gaining on the party {X-56}.
At the same time the armored silhouette at the statue's lap begins to climb the king {Y-41}.
There is no telling what the robed figure who has vanished from sight might be doing at this moment. That said, a distant voice says something in Draconic loud enough for all to hear even beyond the sound of the crashing waterfalls (everyone in the party speaks Draconic). "The signal was given but not by me. We have a traitor in Tiamat's camp. Know that you'll be found, but for now... all of Tiamat's children, prepare for an ambush!"

Seeing Raist opt to tend to his wounds for the moment, Doozey instead set his sights on the cave entrance, hoping and mutely praying for the safety of others. And yet, scarcely had relief kindled at the sight of Utar entering the cave, before dying and twisting into wide-eyed shock and guilt with Neya falling in soon after the Orc.
But with his body suddenly lurching from a worried and whining Biscuit rushing to Neya's side, Doozey not only snapped to attention, but started to say, "Oh gosh darn it, that's-",before the announcement gives him pause. "Well that settles it then! Looks like it worked. If the Greys are smart they won't waste time try'na chase us up here so long as we don't poke our heads out again. 'least most of'em, anyhow. But, if they smarter still, they'll likely go for a fighting retreat into that cave just below this one. 'cause if I had to hazard a guess, it'll lead down to what has to be their boat waiting at the base of cliffs." Doozey concluded, though his mind yet continued to race to come up with a plan of action.
Eventually, he shakes his head and momentarily dismissed all line of thought to focus instead of placing a hand on Neya's side. And with a few words of power, moss grew from some of her more major wounds, only to quickly flake away and die, revealing freshly regenerated flesh beneath it. "Fer now, we fall back to the other side of that mist curtain and work out our next move from there. Mr. Utar, it kinda goes without saying, but patch'em up as best you can on the way, yea?"
"Aww, come bruv! We can't let'em get away wi' screwing over our mates 'ere! Just let me scarper down the cliffside all lickity split and tear'em a new one!"Biscuit said, though all the others hear is excited barking and maybe a bit of growling. However, Doozey sighs and shakes his head. "Not yet, Biscuit. Not yet. Now c'mon. Move it." The mastiff let out a low growl of frustration, but without another word began bounding down the tunnel.
Action(Doozey): Cast (2nd level)Cure Wounds on Neya, restoring 17.
Movement/Action(Biscuit):Retreat further down the tunnel until past the mist curtain from before.

Doozey takes stock of the situation, even if based on partial information, and decides that the best path ahead for the party is to heal and retreat. He shares his thoughts with everyone else and, trusting that they will agree with him, gets things started by slapping some magical curatives onto Neya. (Neya recovers 29 HP.)
As Neya ponders on what Jeralla and the kobolds are doing, the halfling then leads the line by rushing down the familiar tunnel and further into the foggy patch within.
Outside, a muffled order is given in the Common language. There is no telling what the Gray Patriots are doing next.
(Utar is next. At the top of his turn, his dodge action expires.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Utar nods at Doozey's instruction, his pauldron glows briefly, then washes out from the Orc in a wave to all the members of CRAP. Following this, he looks to Raist and Neya, offering potions of healing in case they require topping off.
"How are we all, other than battered? Likely we need to try and make some kind of escape prior to the Orcish horde overrunning this place. The Grey Patriots might have been the obvious choice to band together with, but I am not sure whether they got a clear look at us earlier, so we might be on our own."
Move: Follow the group behind the mist.
Action: Cast mass cure wounds, each member of CRAP (plus Biscuit) gains 19 hp. (19)
Before Doozey and Biscuit get too far ahead of the group, Utar invokes one of his more powerful healing miracles and magically closes many a wound. (Utar, Neya, Raist, Doozey, and Biscuit each recover 19 HP.)
The orc then advances into the thicker part of the fog. It becomes a bit harder to spot other CRAPers at this point. Raist begins to move as well, picking up his pace as he goes.
Bringing up the rear, Neya looks over her shoulder and sees the image of the Beholder move away from the cave entrance. Other Gray Patriots continue to act outside.
NOTE: Doozey is mounted on Biscuit so they are occupying the same space. The map coordinates for the enemies refer to the map of the cliff, not the map of the tunnel.
(Neya is up next. Since others have had a chance to move farther into the cave since Neya arrived, she is now 30ft behind Utar.)
As Neya limps further into the cave, she drops a cloud of magical darkness (1 ki point, centered on F-28, only she can see through it). She picks up the pace to try and catch up with everyone (Using Step of the Wind: Free Trial and moving to E-14)
Neyaobscures a portion of the tunnel not too far from the entrance and advances quickly to catch up to the group's vanguard.
Right behind Neya, huffing and puffing, you hear someone heavy rushing into the cave with complete abandon. Just as the Muscled Woman emerges from the blob of darkness, she looks around and seems surprised with the thickness of the fog that has accumulated in this cave.
Utar and the lady are just 10ft from each other and, in this thick fog, can just about make each other's silhouette. Based only on sounds, other CRAPErs can't pinpoint her exact location from a distance.
(OOC: You'll need a search action to locate her if you are more than 10ft away. If you move and end up at 10ft or 5ft away, you can tell where she is if your passive perception is 15 or higher. Only Utar knows that she is 10ft away from him, but everyone can hear what general direction she is coming from, which is from the right side of the map shared in the initiative tracker post above.)
Biscuit hadn't noticed the follower, but Doozey's hearing is more than sharp enough to discern her huffing and puffing from that of Raist, at the very least. He barks out in [draconic] only a "Keep Going".But as he felt the moistness in the air began to thin, he shoots Utar a quick message, "Lure her to the otherside with us if you can, but otherwise keep going. Once we're all on the otherside, we'll see if we can ambush her."
With that, he whispers to Biscuit to stay on guard and make ready to grab the muscle lady should she exit the fog within reach of the beast.
Movement(Biscuit): To E-7.
Action(Doozey): Cast Message, directing the below message to Utar.
Bonus Action(Doozey): Command Biscuit to Ready to Grapple a chaser.
Action(Biscuit):Ready a Grapple. STR/DEX Save(DC 15) to avoid.
(@MB: If you'd like, you can reply to the message and only Doozey will be able to hear it.)
Noticing a fifth biped in the area, Doozey tells Biscuit to keep moving while shooting Utar a message. While waiting for a potential response from the Tormite, Doozey issues a second order for Biscuit: grab the enemy if they emerge from the fog. The mastiff gets ready to do so without sacrificing his defensive training.
Despite being outside the thick fog, Doozey remains effectively blind while surrounded by the cave's natural darkness.
(Utar is next up. The enemy is 10ft away from him, and he can locate her due to high passive perception.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Utar instanly responds to Doozey's message, "Understood."
Pushing forward within the tunnel, Utar tries to put himself beyond the muscled woman, hoping to keep her vaguely in his sights.
Move: To C,28
Action: Ready a grapple should the muscled woman try to push back beyond Utar. Grapple DC for Utar is 18. Unarmed strike fro grapple attack: 11 Damage: 6
(@MB: No need for an attack roll or damage roll for an attempt to grapple. In the new rules, it is just a saving throw on the target's part.)
Utar responds to Doozey's message and moves to a new spot (exact spot to be determined, see OOC channel.) From there, the cleric hopes to be able to react in time should the nearby enemy pass by him in her inevitable attempt to move further down the tunnel.
(@Red: Reminder that readying a spells spends the slot/charge even if the trigger doesn't come to pass.)
Raist continues to move forward, perhaps inadvertently changing his direction a bit. He eventually reaches the wall {D-12} and takes the opportunity to look over his shoulder and prepare to arcanely grab the approaching enemy.
Despite much of it being drowned out by the sounds of the waterfall, noises from outside continue to suggest something is happening.
NOTES: Doozey is mounted on Biscuit so they are occupying the same space. They are also the only CRAPers outside the thick patch of fog. The black circular area represents the Darkness spell. The map coordinates for the enemies refer to their last known location on the map of the cliff, not the map of the tunnel.
Neya exits the foggy area (to G-7) and nocks an arrow (while preparing a second arrow), preparing to loose them on the first non-orc that comes through the fog.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Neya catches up to Doozey and Biscuit outside the foggy area and turns around with an arrow already nocked.
Utar watches as the silhouette of the large woman reappears some 10ft away from him and continues to get closer. It looks like she is going to run past the Tormite, who is ready to prevent such a maneuver. However, much like he notices her, she seems to notice him too. Instead of pushing past Utar, the woman raises an axe and swings it thrice. Each slash is accompanied by an ear-splitting swooshing noise:
Raist, Doozey, Neya, and Biscuit can all hear but not see the fight that just started within the foggy patch. Mixed within the noises of metal clashing and the damaging swooshes are Utar's grunts of pain. (Utar takes 69 slashing and thunder damage.)
(Doozey is up next. He is effectively blinded in this dark cave.)
