Pushoveris glad to have fended off the Spider with Grigs so quickly, and is also happy to have found the body of one of the officers they were looking for, though does lament the fact that they have died. Perhaps they will have better luck with the Sergeant... She'll carry anything that needs taking to spread the load, and is happy to carry on further.
(Anybody can take the items, not like they were using them.)
(Both bodies will weight about 125 pounds.)
(For when the Party advances)
With only one way forward, the party continues through the tunnel's passage. The passage widens into a natural cavern dotted with stalactites and stalagmites. It continues on to the northeast, but the uneven walls make it hard to see into that section — even as heap of bones and gear is plainly visible.
(For Grigs and Siggurd)
You notice motion coming from behind a stalagmite. Observing a bit longer, you can see its sharp ears and green skin. It seemingly trembles as it warily watches your party.
"Talkin' to the frightened is not one of my strong suits, but I think that one of the crew we be lookin' for is here." says Sigurd in a calm voice, he first eyes K, the newest among them, then turns to the tiefling. "Maybe you could talk to him, Pushover?"
"They probably speak common, but I can translate if needed." Grigor gives a finger wave to who he assumes is a goblin, though he hasn't seen them clearly.
Pushover, in her typical fashion, doesn't raise any qualms with Sigurd's request of her talking to the creature they saw first, and whilst she doesn't see it at first, after Sigurd and Grigs make the could-be-goblin's location clear, she'll begin to edge towards the figure, asking them in a soft tone 'Are you Sergeant Ava Teeshe? If you are, we've been sent to come find you.'
The goblin emerges from behind a stalagmite and brandishes a gnarled piece of bleached wood. “I am a powerful wizard. My wand annihilates all those who make me uptight. Go away. Leave Gorkoh alone, and there’s no annihilate. Gorkoh is merciful.” He thrusts his wand several times in your direction.
Grigs can't help himself and pipes up in Goblin. "Look man, we're looking for a woman from topside, dressed like a guard. You seen her? Also, know where any kobolds hang? We're lookin for the next of kin for this dude. Ran into some spiders." He turns to show the kobold's face to the goblin in the very unlikely event they knew each other. "Oh, and don't go back that way for a while. That spider is going to want some fresh lunch."
Pushover is intrigued by this little goblin's claim of great wizardry; of course it's all got to be balderdash with a wand like that, but still, she wonders if his fascination with the arcane could be leveraged if he withholds information from the party. She steps back from where she was originally stood and waits to see how this unfolds.
Gorkoh lowers his wand and tilts his head. "Gorkoh not know of any woman or kobold down here. Gorkoh come with dwarf Caerhan. Lost Caerhan when dead eater try to attack. Gorkoh think Caerhan went deeper but Gorkoh can't follow. Dead eater is still over there." He points further down the cave around some stalactites.
Caerhan. Grigor tried to commit the name to memory. He was inclined to help the little dude. Didn't sound like all the guy's gears were spinning, but Grigs didn’t want to volunteer the group, so kept his toothy trap shut for now and turned to K.
"So....I'm suddenly not so sure traveling with us is your safest option. Looks like we're headed deeper in."
Though lurking at the back of the group since everyone else is jumping in and trying to calm the goblin wizard, K is glad to see that the situation has not escalated. Hearing Grigor's question, she shakes her head. "That's fine with me. I'm not the kind of person to do things halfway. And you guys could use an extra hand, especially if things are getting more dangerous, no?"
She addresses the rest of the group, "I think we should help the goblin. Since we came here to find people, it wouldn't make a difference to find another one. Besides, I doubt he's gonna let us pass if we don't offer to do so."
Pushover raises her eyebrows at the sound of a 'dead eater'. Her first instinct is to think Well we're not dead yet, so maybe it won't eat us, but quickly refocuses her mind. She nods to K and says 'Yes, I agree, we should. I will be driven by the party's decision, but I find him quite endearing, so I see no reason why we shouldn't do the right thing and help out.' She turns to the goblin, and follow Ja'Dul's question, says 'Even if you don't want to help us fight, I think it's for the best if you stick with us for now. We'll help any way we can, and I'm a wizard myself, albeit not a very good one, so I'd gladly demonstrate some of my power to you, and even potentially try to teach you along the way if we have the time, although I doubt you need any tips from the likes of myself, since you say you're such a powerful mage.'
The goblin looks around the cave for a second before pointing towards some stalactites. "Bring rocks down on eater. Not smart like Gorkoh, easy to trap." Looking at the stalactites, you notice parts of it wearing away, most likely from the recent earthquakes happening. Should be easy to break with a well aimed shot at it.
"Huh" The bugbear combs his chin scruff thoughtfully. "Just gotta get this thing to that area. I'm pretty quick when I want to be..." Grigs, notably doesn't outright volunteer to be bait, hinting at that option only.
"Uhh.. Lunch?" Jerking a thumb back to the corpses on his back. "I could try luring it here, you guys be ready to squash it?" he suggests against his better judgement.
((Mechanically, stuff like that is hard to pull off because of how initiative works, but trying probably wouldn't be more chaotic than just charging in for a fight.))
