Khessa, inspired by Tristan's holy aura, quickly ducks, avioding the worst of the explosion... Plus, her magical instincts take over and she almost without thinking absorbs some of the magical energy into her Greatsword, so the consequences of the impressive blast are reduced to just a few superficial burns.

Naero DEX save 21

Naero 

With superhuman speed, Naero seems to jump and hang in the air as the fire burns beneath him. He lands just as the arcane blast hits him square in the torso. While the fire was dodged, the blast was not. He staggers a step or two from the powerful energy hit. "Unacceptable" he grunts. It's unclear if he is chastising himself for being hit or if his comment is directed at the enemy.

Successful DEX save plus Class Feature Evasion = no damage from the magical fire. The spell hit with full force however.

The fire-balling cultist staggers a bit, covered in burns, but is still standing somehow. The other cultist is now visible, having fired off some arcane blasts.

Khessa reaches the cultist who, perhaps believing himself to be a phoenix, has detonated a fireball under his feet and tries to finish him off with her now flaming Greatsword! The firepower of these opponents must be reduced...

The blonde arcane warrior raises her massive flaming blade and brings it down in a diagonal slash; then she immediately repeats the operation, along the other diagonal, as if she wanted to dig a cross on the cultist's chest...

Khessa's Multiattack with Greatsword:

1) Attack: 27 Damage: 8 (slashing) or 4 if missed (thanks to Graze property)
2) Attack: 21 Damage: 9 (slashing) or 4 if missed (thanks to Graze property)

Plus, the first of the two attacks that hits also causes 4 (fire)

Khessa's attacks miss the swaying form, but the huge sword still does some damage. As it happens, the second slash misses high and opens up the man's neck, and he collapses on the floor.

Managing to dodge straight into the full force of the fireball, Tristan pushes through and moves to attack the remaining cultist.  He slashes with his crystal sword, trying to end this spellcaster before he can kill them!

Larry, now fireballed twice, has reached a pretty bad mood.  He skitters across the floor directly to the opponent who threw the arcane blasts (one on the North, I believe) and attempts to reduce the villain's blood pressure, quickly.

Though he avoids the manages to duck out of the way of the blasts of magic, panic sets into his voice as the room catches fire. "shit shit shit efz uz afz!"  He tries to smother the flames burning him frantically, though he seems more afraid than in pain, cursing in infernal without seeming to realize it. The mocking, devil may care attitude is cast aside like a mask, though his literal mask remains frustratingly expressionless. The fire burns a hole into his sleeve, revealing bright red skin textured with layers of burn scars. A snarl of anger escapes him, anger he turns on the remaining cultist, his blades becoming a whirlwind of metal and ash as he rushes towards his target.

Tristan steps up and does some major damage to the cultist, almost severing an arm, and the second attack drives a deep gash in his chest.

Bad mood Larry is no one to mess with, as every one of his attacks find purchase, despite the arcane shield that the cultist throws up. He's stabbed, jabbed, and is now bleeding profusely, glaring at Larry with hate. 

Ozus whirls over, still slightly panicked, but manages to land his third attack, opening a new hole into the cultist's body, and dropping him for good.

(Combat over!)

As the heat from the fireballs dissipate, the now ruined room is filled with robed bodies. The prisoner is now a charred husk, taking the brunt of the suicidal fireball from the other cultist. All is now quiet...though a quiet voice from Umberto come from below: Is...is it over?

Khessa reassures Umberto: "Yes, so it seems... for now".

The blonde arcane warrior then turns to her fellow adventurers: "The plan to take one prisoner and interrogate him has failed, I would say" she begins to search the corpses. "This area seems to me to be the heart of the Cultist's Base. I would suggest saving it for last... and finishing before exploring the other areas".

"That's because, up until now, we have only found the prisoners in the other areas..." the tall adventuress explains her reasoning "So perhaps they are all outside of this area. And if that were the case, once the prisoners are freed and secured we could easily drown the Cultists - saving ourselves from hard, unnecessary fighting".

Tristan:

Calling KJ forward, Tristan thanks him for protecting the rescued people during the combat.  He aids Khessa in her search (Help action), saying “Hopefully they have some clues to the cult operations hidden in this room or on their persons.”

”Does anyone have powerful healing abilities that can heal many of us at once?  My healing ability is more limited,” he admits.
