Nah... I wouldn't do that. Would I? Would I introduce a dragon to a party of 2nd level adventurers? That sounds crazy. You're crazy. That's just crazy.
If we have any hopes we need to get the hell out of here before the dragon gets a sniff that we are here.
The dragon most likely not wants us to reveal its lair. We must get back and warn Santech . It will try stop us.
It will catch us knowing we heading for Santech. We have no chance against a flying dragon in the open...
Suggested plan.
Go out and scare Glynnis horses to run home with only a message about what we discoverd. Hopefully they reach Santech unencoumbered before a dragon eats them. And their hoveprints hopefully make the dragon belive we escaped.
We have to go really stealthy. Hiding in daytime and taking a longer route by night to avoid detection.
If the premises of the geas is broken. Like the crates content is eaten I not see how that spell is in effect any more.
If we reach Santech...well we take it from there....
IF there is a dragon, I don't think it fits in these tunnels yet
I don't think running away now is option until we are sure that there is no chance to get what we need.
I vote we try to get a long rest here, we've kinda earned a bit of trust in this small group, they may allow us to sleep in the small den off to the side here.
Everything Sera says is true IF there is a dragon.
If you take a long rest, there is a decision to be made.
Kasi is still just a veteran kobold, with enough XP to be a level 4-5 adventurer. I've been saving the XP, to dump it or apply it when the next long rest occurs. If you want to make her a guild member (who pays dues but doesn't actively campaign with you unless commissioned to tag along), she keeps the XP and levels up. If she's just a hireling, I dump the cache and Kasi remains a veteran/kobold stat block.
You'll need to RP it, though. This is still a decision Kasi would have to make, and it depends on what you do/say to determine what decision she makes. TBH, I'm not even sure which decision she'll make. But I will say I've been updating her Loyalty Score on campaign notes in her bio. The highest possible score is 20. You can look at it, and decide if you feel she's loyal enough to be trusted.
Merkas is very interested in having Kasi as a guildmate/resident blacksmith and trainer for him. Also, depending on the insight check (15) about wether a dragon is actually here or it’s a ruse and the answer on how one becomes queen, Merkas may have some other ideas.
Plus, if we attack when the weather is coldest, we might have an advantage. The kobolds will turn on fires. The light will help us see, and the noise of the fire could cover a sneaking attempt, even for the more clink clanky people we have.
But if kobolds are nocturnal, we're kindda ****ed.

I'll allow it to be common knowledge that kobolds are not nocturnal. Their sleep cycle has more to do with the weather. They love to sunbathe, and curl up near heat. But at night, especially in this desert wasteland, the cold affects their functionality, and causes them to fall into a torpor. In regions where the weather is at least moderate temperatures at night, kobolds may prefer hunting in the dark where their darkvision can work to an advantage. But the kobolds in this region, only come out when there's sunlight and would be likely to retreat before dusk.
I'm trying to gradually improve Kasi's common, to give the affect that she's been paying attention to how the party speaks. Her use of "much much" instead of "many" or "very" has more to do with how Yip-Yap (as Draconic with an accent) would transliterate. I figure, if she does take on a class (leaning Ranger right now, because uses a bow and she's really good with animals... maybe Firenewt will be her favored enemy) it would be weird if she was suddenly fully fluent in Common. I hope it's coming through that she's paying attention and learning.
Yes...I am a bit tired of their fanatism too. When trying to make a non violent solution that just fall flat...
Can we now get away and using then "If it is a dragon" plan to retreat?
Repeating it:

I was thinking we could send Kasi back to Sanketh with the horses. Maybe she could get an update from the council or deliver a letter and speak with them through correspondence. And we could go in during the night and maybe fight a bit more freely. Not that she wouldn't help, for sure she would, but would kindda feel weird. I agree with what Merkas proposed though. I don't think the dragon is there right now, but it could be on its way or something like that.
If the quest cannot be finished, as in the party is convinced the supplies have been destroyed or consumed, the gaes is absolved. If attempting to get the supplies would result in near-certain death, like fighting a dragon, then yes. The gaes is also absolved. You can return to Santekh at your own pace. It can't force you to do something you can't do, or something that would result in unavoidable death.
But the party has to be certain that is the case. If any doubts remain with any signed member of the gaes, the effects remain until Verhanna can dismiss the spell. You don't have irrefutable evidence that the crates are unattainable, nor do you have irrefutable evidence that there is a dragon. So I will roll wisdom checks behind the screen to determine if you have any shred of doubt, and PM you of your resolve. If you wish, since this has as much to do with strength of conviction as awareness, I can roll charisma checks for those of you who prefer it. Rolling for me will not be an option in this case, for drama reasons, but if you have Heroic Inspiration and wish me to apply it, I will.
I'm not taking a side, or making a suggestion, but just offering a reminder: Hastos and Kasi are not under the affects of a gaes. If you choose, you may split the party.
Your party also knows that there will be many casualties in Santekh if they don't receive at least some of the crates. They're already scraping the barrel of their supplies. It won't ruin Santekh, so long as the emergency supplies arrive safely. But there may be funerals for the elderly, the injured, and the ill if you return empty-handed.
Jamada will not resist if you tie him up. He wants you to leave anyway. He'd probably even be willing to tell you how to not trip the fire trap on the way out if Kasi asks. Simply head back the way you came, and we'll begin the march back to Santekh.

Yes you would!
Ok. New plan. My suggestion.
GET OUT OF HERE!
Any better plan?

Like we hide in the storage room ? A long rest helps alot. But if they rat on us. We in serious trouble
The old Kobold we saved understand he soon be dead if this harsh slave work keeps on...but their leader. Kobold Gray...I am unsure...

I have no problem adding her to the party
That's 2 votes for yes.
I'll build a character if there's a majority, but I won't apply it unless Kasi is invited to the guild and accepts the position.

I vote for a retreat. We never will get the crates with us right now.
Resting 8 hours with kobolds +whatever stronger that still will be in charge will have no restrictions to kill us.
If only we had a little bit more information, I would say charge, but we don't even know where to go.

Man, it's really hard not to murder hobo these kobolds.
@DM. It’s totally coming across that way.
@Cheapjoke - Yup. I mean next time we encounter them, we’re starting over at the start.

Did. Erika’s swapping out the pen exempt him from the Gaes?
Character: Hastos, Ibahalii Vriwhulth, the Reaper of Glory v2: IC Thread
The info we get is really frustrating.
Suddenly the crates been eaten. Not possible to get..and we risk face a dragon.
Then it is maybe just a baby dragon. Crates might still be available.
I am tired of try get any sensible info out of the Kobolds.
Now they not kill the merchants? So someone else arrived after the raid and killed the helpess merchants? Sounds odd.
Sera likes to go back. Prepare Santech to fight a dragon. Little or big we find out. Kasi could ride and deliver the message.
