“Well if we are pushing in we could sleep in the tunnel or head back out and bunker down outside….Whatever you all want is fine with Ole Eltra”
Feydon: "We shouldn't sleep in this tunnel. Clearly, its connecting different cave sections. And there's definitely something... crocodile like... at the end of this. Maybe if we kill it first, it'd be safe, but I still think it'd be better to make camp in the brush outside - watching for anything coming or going. Besides. Don't you need to do a reading or something here?"
Gus - Plus it'll be easier taking the next readings outside the cave. Do we mark this one as "scouted"?
The readings can only be taken from outside - when you have the readings you can mark it as 'read'. As for scouted - no, she wanted you to explore any cave systems or ruins at the four locations. You don't need to do so in any particular order. Once you have the reading, you can move on to a different location if you'd prefer. It's possible that the one you're at is even connected to the other cave area you're meant to explore. Its up to you.
OOC: Forget to hit send on this, But looks like this was assumed, so no problem.
Dawn says, "Thanks. There's a trip wire about 20 feet further down. Could that be what triggers the blades? Set so the lead person sets off a trap to hit someone a few positions back?"
(OOC: I think Geren is the only one with thieves tools. Feydon can disarm traps too, but you'd need to give him a set. Otherwise he'll cover for whoever is doing so (Geren).
Eltra raises his hand and coughs a bit "Perhaps we leave the traps for whatever is in the water up ahead....If we disarm them now and then head to rest outside, it could creep out...."
Dawn comments, "It's still about 3 hours till sunset, so why don't we explore for 2 hours more. I can time it using my light spells. Then head out and camp for the night. We can start by finding and disarming the rest of the traps in this corridor, then hunt the crocodile or whatever it is making noise ahead."
"That does sound like a good idea. I think after we disarm the traps we lure out whatever it is at the end of the hall with one of my creatures. That way we can restrict its movements and attack it at range with spells and bows."
Ok the map is back up. I changed it a little to add some of the outside to it. Otherwise its the same. So you've got a furry little badger, rarin to go. Geren, or someone, needs to disarm the second tripwire trap, and what seems to be another blade trap beyond it. There is DEFINITELY something larger than a lizardman at the end of the hall. By the sound of it, there may be two, because you heard an overlapping roar. It could've been an echo. But you don't think it was.
As Eltra comes brings up the read along with Gus, he gets to about a third of the way down or so before his warlock boosted darkvision reveals the largest lizard he's ever seen. It's clearly aware of the party, and it's sort of pacing slightly, waiting for you all to come closer. It seems clear that it doesn't think you can see it. It's a little too large to comfortably fit into the corridor as well, so it seems to have little option at the moment but wait for you to come to it. It seems. There's more sound coming from its left, but you can't see anything there yet (the walls are in the way).
Eltra pipes up to the gang "Uhh excuse me a moment before you disarm any more traps....There is a lizard....no not a lizard....a giant lizard, a size I've never seen before, down the end of the corridor waiting for us. It doesn't seem likely that it can fit down this corridor but it is definitely waiting for us. There also seems to be something coming from the left as it keep looking that way as well....So perhaps we should plan accordingly before charging down this corridor yes?"

Bree pipes up
"I have a grey bag of tricks, I could send a summoned creature down the hall as a lure. Any objections?"
Dawn agrees, "That sounds a lot better than using one of us as a lure! But we should find and disarm the rest of the traps first."

Geren nods.
"Lure whatever's out there, then finish them off before they can get close. Simple enough."
while waiting for the traps to be disabled, Bree pulls a fuzzball from her pouch and drops it for a

Th fuzzball becomes a badger.

Gus - I've got a bad feeling about this but ok. He follows the group. ((Unable to access map while at work))
"Ditto Gus....I will bring up the rear"
Okey dokes - I'll keep you in back

"Are you sure it doesn't look like it can get down this hall?"
