Merkas wakes with a start as Ororana carries him along, reaching out to empty air, “No, Yvie!…. Oh hi Ory, ow, that horn has a real punch, did it help? The whole town musta heard that noise” Turning his head to look back down hall, “Everyone is ok, looks like they’re all standing, that’s good, why’d you stop?” Turning back to look they way she was going, squinting down the hall “What do youthink it is?”
He pulls out a common healing potion from the bag of holding and offers it to Ororana, “You need this? Don’t want you hurt to bad, anyone else need something to feel better?” Waiting for Ororana to take the potion he offers some to his companions.
Ororana heavy sighs. Her voice is soft, so as not to attract any more monstrous attention, "I don't know, but it sounds big and well-armored. Not. Interested."
She looks over her shoulder to see the rest of the gang still dawdling. "Are you coming?!" She whisperes harshly.
Sera saw Orerana scoop up the barely-walking Merkas, the kender looking pale but stubbornly awake. Whatever was coming from the south, they weren’t ready to face it. The heavy, metallic clang of footsteps echoed closer—too steady, too strong. The statue. The same one that had flattened her with a single blow.
“We’re right with you,” Sera said firmly, though her chest tightened. She halted only a moment as the last of the zombies crumbled into dust, leaving a faint glimmer behind. Five diamonds lay in the ashen remains. She bent quickly to snatch them up, knowing such gems were vital for stronger magic later, and swept her gaze across the chamber to make sure nothing else critical was left behind.
On Orerana’s shoulder, Merkas lifted his head groggily. Offering healing potions first to her then to the rest in a scratchy voice.
Sera shook her head. “Not yet, Merkas… but maybe soon. Save it. We might need it if Tekel decides to arrest us.” Her jaw tightened at the thought—they had barely escaped the cult, and already another danger loomed. She hurried after Orerana " let us get out "
With Merkas in tow, Ororana huffs and turns left, not wanting to pass by the cave-in on the off chance there was a survivor. She marches south down the corrider until it ends, where she sees a couple of giant rats running in her direction!
Cursing her luck, she does her best to awkwardly hold her greataxe in one hand. But the rats don't seem to be charging towards her. Rather they seem to be running in terror! "What... the... f*ck..." you hear her groan, as something howls out a burbling moan from the underground stream.
The baleful wail also causes the heavy scraping of brass to stop. It sounds like the thing is closing in from the west and has adjusted its route.
The rats do not appear to be an immediate threat. They appear completely terrified though. Barring their egress would likely cause them to attack. So no Initiative rolls are currently required.
Glad to see Hastos taking care of Merkas when Nare himself couldn't, Ne'haredowell leans back against the wall of the dungeon. 'Cold,' he notes about the wall. It feels good against the aching wounds around his body. Nare notes it is intriguing that the potion that the elf was looking for immediately does seem to land just right into his hands.
His eyes widen when the zombie slaps the back of Hastos's head, and he can't help but smirk at how flimsy it all was, especially when Sera eviscerates it. When Merkas opens his eyes again there is a sigh of relief from the harengon. "Glad to see you back." Nare refuses the offer of any potions, stubbornly believing it himself to be okay without. He can't help but smile though when Ororanna just up and picks up the little kender as if he were a mere small child and not a full grown adult.
Ne'haredowell nods along with Ororanna's words, clutching his own stuff as they bound for the nearest corridor. Nare's ear pick up Ororonna and Merkas's warning and the naggingly familiar sound of the brass footsteps. "Oh, not them again," they mumble under their breath.
The mouse on his shoulders trembles at the sight of the rats.
"I can make us all hidden," Nare announces quietly, "The same thing Merkas did... with the ring. I can shroud us all in darkness if that's alright.... Though anyone else won't be able to see but me." The harengon suggests, showing off the tendrils.
If everyone agrees, Nare will cast Darkness Level 2 using 2 sorcerery points, which allows the caster to see through the darkness.

Merkas shifts around on Ororana, attempting to get up on her shoulders to lock himself in with his legs and give her her hands back (Acrobatics: 9), although he only seems to make things worse for a bit. As he’s moving about the rats appear and he says.
“Probably best to get outta their way yeah, don’t like rodent bites, had to many of them before and they tend to get infected and you need holy water to cleanse them, though I found boiled water worked pretty good once”
Merkas pauses for a moment as Nare makes the suggestion
“Guess it couldn’t hurt, but you think the things down here that aren’t the cult people might be fine in the dark. But if we’re hiding from things that can see then go ahead. Just wanna say that the exit should be pretty close given the layout of this place, it feels like it loops back around like some of the other places I seen that were similar.”
“Perhaps we should wait until we’re sure we need it. I don’t like the idea of us being this vulnerable then adding blindness on top of it.” Hastos says with intermittent coughs and heavy breathing..
"No please let us not be blinded too...unless it really is nessesary.." the idea of stumbling paked like a mule and bump at walls was not appealing. She did not see the rats but heard the comments about them "Let them pass...rats will not attack unless they feel cornered. Just make no sudden move as they pass"
Ne'haredowell's attempt at calming the rats does nothing, as they are in full flight. But Sera is quick to present herself, and the party, as a non-threat, so the rats can scurry down the corridor. They scurry, unhindered, up the stairway and towards the door to the west, then turn and up the hallway, dashing between Ororana's, Hastos's, and Ne'haredowell's legs before slipping through the grate and scampering off down the dried waterway.
Sloshing towards the base of the stairs, burbling furiously, is a monstrous form of what appears to be pure water. It's moving with surprising speed for something with no legs, and seems quite perturbed that something has disturbed its peace!
Ororana, appreciating Merkas's adjustments, grips her axe in both hands and squares off against the thing... but looks at her axe skeptically, as if to lament (most likely for the first time in her life) that she didn't own a magical GreatSpoon.
"Merkas... since you can obviously walk... please help the others get to the exit. I don't know how much good an axe will do against... water? But it's a magical weapon, and I can hold it off." She gently shrugs her shoulders so Merkas slides off her slowly, and steps forward onto the stairs to face the threat. She roars and swings savagely, ripping through the creature with all the strength she can muster! But, as water does, it splashes only briefly, and immediately the gap made from the savage gap closes!
"RUUUUUNNN!" She screams, holding the line. She doesn't bother to look back. Her eyes are squarely on the monster at the moment!

Over the angered roaring of the creature, you can barely hear the sound of brass scraping against stone as it lumbers closer.
Directional movement at this point is crucial. Please declare where you are going and what you are doing. No initiative is needed at this moment. Just take your turn. Then when everyone has posted, I'll take mine.
As Orerana squared off with a shifting, waterlike ooze—swinging an axe that looked all wrong for the task—Sera’s stomach dropped. Doubt gnawed at her. This was no fight they could win. ( insight 18 to know what monster it is)
“Run! Just run!” she shouted, her voice raw with urgency. The ooze rippled forward, and something about its movements rang a bell deep in her memory—dangerous, deadly. And worse, the metallic clang of footsteps was growing louder, closer, relentless. The statue was coming.
Even the giant rats seemed to sense it. They screeched and scattered, vanishing into the dried waterway with frantic claws on stone.
For a moment, Sera froze, utterly confused. Then memory struck her like a spark. The way out. She turned west, heart hammering.
“The dried waterway—opposite direction!” she called. Her eyes locked on Orerana. “I count you know what you’re doing!”
Without waiting for an answer, she leapt down into the dry channel, boots skidding on the cracked stone as she sprinted west—towards the exit she prayed she remembered right. ( she dash 5 feet west. then 10 feet south. Then jump down to the dried waterway . Atchletics 19. Then rush 45 feet west then south and keep turning left untill she see the chamber they entered the sewers in )
Ne'haredowell nods at the input and silently puts away the tendrils.
Their attempt to tame the rats doesn't do anything to calm the two down. 'Tossing some crumbs really does not do the trick, huh,'they think to themself. Their mouse nips them on the ear for that. Scowling, they think to themself, 'It's not like you were gonna eat it! You hate cheese.' They then pick upthe mouse from their head and plop it down onto their shoulders as punishment. Still, it doesn't stop Lennie the mouse from climbing back upwards onto their head again in the moments after.
The harengon ends up grateful that Sera handled the rats so well compared to their own attempt. But it wasn't really the rats they should've been more worried about but what as coming next.
"Oh great cheese and crackers,"they exclaim at the sight of that thing.
At the sound of "RUNNNNN" Nare knows exactly what to do next and that was-
'ICE ATTACK! ICE ATTACK!'
Nare jumps up like a rabbit on mushrooms, skedaddling on outta there, but not without some tricks up their sleeve first. Flinging ice shard after ice shard from their hands, they try to at least slow the creature down before it can even get closer to them. This creates little snow effects on the walls around them unconsciously with their shadows. Like spindly snowflakes, black frost coats the walls of the sewer before 'melting' off in an instant and rejoining in on their shadows.
They seem about bound off in pursuit after Sera before their ears drop the second they realize they are going to have to leave Ororanna behind. "Leave that thing! We might be able to flush it out once we get to the cranks!"
Scrambling, with no second to lose, they follow Sera down the dried waterway, pushing aside the water grate lid and hopping down, clinging to the walls like some kind of spider as they follow. They pop their head out just once last chance to sneak a peep at the creature before waving down the others and moving as fast as their legs can carry.

Sliding down Ororana’s back to the floor Merkas peers between her legs at the blob coming for them. “Y’know that reminds me of a weird dessert my aunt made once” His eyes widen as he points a hand towards it. “Yvonne always said it was best when it was frozen!”At the last word the gelatinous mass seemed to frost over, slowing its movements. (Cast Frostbite: dc 14 con save. Receive 3 cold damage and disadvantage on next weapon attack on fail)
He tugs at the warriors boot, “C’mon lets go, hopefully that’ll slow it down a bit….” Turning to see Sera rush down one of the dried channels he starts to say “No, I am pretty sure the door’s right…. Oh never mind, Mr. Nare, Hastos, lets be sure to stick together!” He heads in the direction Sera went, not rushing to quickly in hopes Ororana follows quickly
Sera'a movement stops 10' before the corridor that Dawnbound came in through.
As Sera barrels down the dried waterway towards the entrance, she looks up and sees the Sacred Statue lumbering through the corridor with a zombie attacked by a collar and leash. It shows now interest in the fleshless Eidolon and shambles, emotionless, along.
Larskolstad the Sacred Statue is very lumbering. If you roll an Acrobatics check DC 6, you can get by it without provoking an AoO... mainly becuase it hasn't seen you yet.

(Movement) Move 5 ft into the water grate that Sera opened and climb down with the last 25 ft
Icy eruptions splatter the Water Elemental, shooting crystaline runnels through its form like icy veins. It roars in pain and outrage, and it's movements become sluggish.
Water Elemental takes 2 Damage (Cold) and it's speed is reduced to 20' per movement.
Ne'haredowll scampers down the dried waterway, skidding to a halt right behind Sera, baring witness to the same metallic horror that nearly killed their compatriot-in-arms earlier just this night! It seems bewildered, but angry... tilting its head to discern the direction of the sounds of the wailing Elemental.
"What in the nine hells is going on down here? First the loudest trumpet I've ever heard, and now that damned Water Elemental has gotten loose? I told the Heirophant we should've killed it, rather than let it live down there." The Sacred Statue grumbles, apparently unaware of your presence. It yanks the chain of the zombie, who has apparently gotten a little feisty now that it smells human and harengon flesh.
Merkas closes the gap to Ne'haredowell and Sera and can barely make out the form of a large, brass minotaur holding what appears to be a leash. Beyond that, you can hear the agitated growling of a hungry zombie.
Hastos, weary from several harrowing battles, lingers longer than the rest... almost too long, before giving one last glance at Ororana and limping off in the direction of the group. He trails to the back, leaving room for Ororana to take cover behind him, should she survive.
Ororana, usually so boistrous and confident, looks genuinely terrified. Once the party has left her sight, she ducks and scampers wildly to escape the horror before her! Backing down the hallway, nearly hyperventilating, she keeps her axe high until she's out of sight of the Water Elemental, which finishes the ascent up the stairs, but then looks longingly back towards the underwater stream. With no obvious targets to attack, it seems to decide to return to its watery home. Ororana looks to Hastos, eyes wide with fear. "I've... I've never seen... what was?!" She can't seem to collect a full thought, but a being of pure water in a desert has clearly shaken her.
Sera almost wet her pants as the brass minotaur appear. She ran right at it...and it got a zombie in a leash? Sera flip openn the crate and roll away so smoothly even she is suprised. ( acrobatics 17). Is luck funally on her side? She rush on towards the entrance. The dumb statue still belive the others are Sargonnas followers. ...she hope. Else she must turn and face it again...
Trying too much to catch up to what a 'Heirophant' was in their mind, Nare fumbles the escape. They trip someway on their own cloak. Their mouse bites them down on their ear ('again!'). And their hands scrape against rock and dirt.
They get face full of sewer soot into their cheeks (not to even counting the pain of hitting their buck teeth against metal)!
"F*ck!" they had said in the middle of their fall. As if on command, darkness spreads throughout from them and into the hall. The tendrils split out from them, sprouting from everywhere out their back.
When Ne'haredowell finally gets up again, they blink with blurry eyes, and all they can see is gray. "Oh, f*ck,"they whisper again, scrambling.
(Action) Cast Darkness Second Level with Sorcery Points (if possible)
I don't know if the AoO would count against Nare too, but damn if it do... RIP
that thang has high bludgeoning damage !! i should've taken that healing potion
if it Hits I don't even think Nare could even do anything he'd just be dead lmao

Stopping short of the now pitch black space in front of him, as the light disappears around him he says quietly and experimentally “Light!” Blinky appears next to him, filling the corridor with light that stops dead at the edge of the sphere, he glances at his hands and nods as if coming to a decision and looks back at the sphere.
“Crap, now what?” Meraks whispers as he casts his vision around for a place to exit or hide. Seeing the door to the small room to his left he looks back to Hastos and Ororana and points into the room. Leaving Blinky in the waterway he moves into the room, ready to close and latch the door once the others are in.
As a last thought he points towards where Nare had fallen and focusses like he did with Kasi earlier that night. Casting message he thinks towards the harengon “If you can get out, go with Sera if not we’re in this little room. Let me know where you go so we don’t wait to long”

( Sera dash towards the exit )
As much as Sera's exit was smooth, Nare's wasn't.
"Oh, f*ck," they whisper again, scrambling.

Stopping short of the now pitch black space in front of him, as the light disappears around him he says quietly and experimentally “Light!”
Blinky appears next to him, filling the corridor with light that stops dead at the edge of the sphere, he glances at his hands and nods as if coming to a decision and looks back at the sphere.
