This time the little canon does well, spitting out a bolt of force the sends goblin3 back into the stone wall crushing him under the force, killing him instantly. “ Wah hoo! Thats the ways, canon. Thats go boom!” Peet says excitedly and he sends a firebolt at goblin2, the other archer.
Goblin 1 misses the agile Chankla once again and so will disengage and run over to the wounded goblin to help with the lever on the next turn. Salt peet isnt as lucky as a second arrow nails him. This time in a more painful spot.
“ Ouches green skin jerks. Canon go booms!” Peet exclaims ordering the canon to wreck the second goblin archer
The canon rips into the goblin with invisible force knocking him back into the wall, but this goblin manages to barely stay up and so Peet will follow up with a fire bolt
While Chankla ponders his next attack the two goblins manage to break free the lever and get it pulled down. You can hear the sound of chains and gears in action amd the scraping of metal on stone as the portcullis begins to raise.
The dwarf and the big man say thanks again to Vox as they go to unload the crates at the store. Its been a long and fruitful day so you head back to the inn for some dinner and entertainment.
The puppet stage is set up, curtains are drawn. As you enter, Farek, the large Dragonborn bouncer with his giant maul is inspecting everyone as they enter. He is holding a large green feather in one hand. He apologizes for the inconvenience but ensures you its for the safety of the patrons. The other bouncer can be seen searching the whole room in nooks and spaces where someone or something nefarious might be concealed. He is more slender in build than his brother and carries a rapier and a flail.

She describes the meal as “ Beef Dragoon” a local dish with a long and storied history. The beef is slow roasted with in season vegetables, currently turnips, carrots and peas and topped with the special dragoon gravy made with a special mix of herbs and peppers.
I order a beer, the beef and say ill be back.. i go somewhere descretely (bathroom?) and ritually cast detect magic and see what i can see on returning. I also recast fiendish vigor (8 temp hp) for an hour.. I also ask her what is the green feather with the bouncer for?
Your detect magic shows the bouncer’s weapons as active and a hint of magical residue on the feather, but nothing else within the main floor that you can see. The server tells you about the other night during the show how it was interrupted by green smoke and some shenanigans where a bridman with green feathers assaulted some patrons and tied up the visiting Bard who was narrating for the story. They are trying to find the green birdman and there is a reward for his capture

As the portcullis rises, Salt Peet runs over to the dwarf boy and unties his bindings. “ yous is safe now. Stay behind Salt Peet, I protects you”

Chankla’s arrow slams into the side of the goblins head, piercing through its ear dropping it in heap on the spot. The wounded goblin not wanting to wait until the iron barred portcullis finished rising scurries onto the floor and attempts to roll underneath. Salt Peet will send a firebolt at him.
The firebolt catches the goblin before he can make it into the corridor beyond. Everything goes quiet as the goblin smolders in the door way. The boy Mikel seems to be in a state of shock from his ordeal and the dramatic rescue by these two strange people.

Salt Peet moves cautiously to the lifted iron gate and peers down the dark hallway. There is a slight rumbling in the stone down in the darkness and then the sound of the stone ceiling collapsing, filling the corridor with stone and dust. It seems as if some large creature has bored its way into the hallway. Salt Peet gasps and curses a little in draconic as he backs away from the opening a bit. He quickly kick the smoldering goblin further into the hallway and clear of the gate, thinking maybe it would serve as bait for whatever monstrosity was coming down the hall. He says, “ friend Chankla, helps pull lever back. Hurries!”
Peet and chankla pull on the lever to try and drop the portcullis.
Strength vs lever: 21.
