Chankla seemed to want to meet this bard and maybe become a bard himself- but how? He couldn't speak, there was no way he could ever perform, he would have to just keep to himself and be quiet, leave the performing to those that could speak. Before he could continue this thought you would return with the bowl of buttered corn, chankla would try a few wondering if it could be good, turns out he loved almost anything if it had butter on it. "Thanks" he would say in an unfamilar voice.
As the show resumed he would sit back and relax but be wide awake as the show continued.
Peet will say, “ Hey, whats the big ideas?….” As you can hear chairs begin shuffling around and grumbling from the crowd as people began to get worried. The doors and windows were opened , trying to get the green smoke to vent into the night. You hear the voices of Ferak and his brother Bashir, the bouncers give orders to workers and pushing people and tables aside as they made their way towards the stage.
Chankla peered into the and thinks he sees something near the stage for moment and as the smoke began to dissipate thanks open doors and windows the image too disappears.
After the clears more, you can see the Dragonborn brothers, weapons drawn searching for the fiendish figure. You notice, a few of the seats nearby are now empty, though you did not hear anyone leave, you also can see the bard in his knocked over chair, tied to it with rope and a gag in his mouth. Juggut comes from behind the stage to survey any damage and to reassure the guests, “ ladies and gentlemen seems we have had a mishap. Please come back tomorrow night to finish the story. May the rest of your evening be less eventful…”
Chankla would be suprised to see this sight, his now favorite bard, on the floor and gagged! He would rush over a split second after you as he ungagged them.
Chankla would tend to whistle when he was nervous.
You, Peet and Juggut hurry over to help Burgle up, Salt Peet quickly cuts the bindings as Juggut pulls the gag out of his mouth.
The Bard will exclaim, “ what devilry was this? What creature? It had horns, a wicked, toothy grin…i almost had my spell out when i was gagged”
The smoke air has cleared and the bright light of the moon shines through the open doors and windows. The Bouncers are checking everyone as they leave, to see if anyone looks suspicious..
Salt Peet will say, “ Lets sees if the critter left any evidence, who would do this? “ he then produces a magnifying glass and begins to search around the stage.
Burgle will graciously thank Chankla for his concern over his well being as he gives him a good look over, finding no physical injuries. You do notice the rope used to bind him is beginning to break down and disappear, bit by bit and was made with many strands of a thin vine twisted together and dried.
Salt Peet, scoping about the room as the last guests exited finds several green feathers and some residue on spot on the floor. He tastes the residue and determines it is some form colored black powder and the cause of the smoke. He scraps as much as he can for further study. He holds up the feathers and says, “ it was some bad bird mans…”
All eyes briefly look to Chankla for a second and then Peet adds, “ a GREENS birdmans, friend Chankla is black feathers”
Ferak the oldest of the dragonborns takes the feathers from Peet and pars him the back. “ we will find this trouble making Green Birdman and he will pray for death before we are through with him.”
As the night winds down, the windows and doors are secured as the Staff cleans and orders the tables and chairs. Burgle gives Chankla a black and white woodcut print of him and his lute with his signature in thanks. Tells you to call the name Burgle while folding it in half if ever he needs a boost in a dire situation. ( it is bardic inspiration but in a scroll type for later)
You and Peet head to your room for the evening. As you walk up the stairs you can see many of the carved marionettes from past shows. Some are beautiful works of art and engineering while a couple are sort of creepy and sinister looking. Juggut Whittlefinger is truly a master craftsman.
In you room, Salt Peet is still very excited about the show and enthusiastic about the mystery of the green birdman. He lays out some of his tools and bits and bobs of random chunks of wood, string, and metal bits along with some of the residue.
” wats you thinks friend Chankla? Yous have green cousins, or something differents?” He says to you as he fiddles with some strange construction. “ tomorrows we can thump some goblins and help the farm guy and then finds the green birdman so Master Juggut can finish the story.”
As he stood there looking at the green feather dropped from a bird, he noticed all eyes where on him, couldnt they see? He had black feathers! Not green feathers, when he was about to speak to defend himself, he noticed salt peet was already ahead of him, this was the first time anyone had ever done something like this for him, he was eternally grateful towards them. He would decide to just follow behind salr peet as they went to their room, he would tumble back onto his bed even more exhausted from before, when you put out the suggestion of him having family members with green feathers, he wasnt sure as he barely knew them, he knew he would find this bird with salt peet and help clear out the name of the kenku species.
You fall into a deep sleep as Peet works away on his project. As the hours passed you have several, vivid dreams.. some images and event from your difficult past assailed you, as probably happens frequently. Part way through the night you think you may have heard light footsteps outside the door, was that a cry for help? Probably not, just another dream….just before dawn your dream was filled with green smoke and that twisted, evil grin of the green birdman…..
you wake up refreshed, surprisingly regardless of your dreams. Salt Peet is already dressed and has a plate of buttermilk biscuits and some strange new drink called kafee. He has a cup for you and offers you some biscuits. “ theses the best Peet ever has. Those goblins in fir a stomping today” he says light heartedly. He has gathered his things and grabs his little trinket he made. Looks like a miniature cart with a crudely made barrel, like something that would hold pickles or something, just real small. A wooden tube projects from it a few inches and has a carefully carved wolves face with barred teeth at the end. He holds it up for you to look at and says, “ this we try out, see if wurks before making bigger one, those goblins are gonna be sir’prized..”
Chankla would wake up, and sit up with a burst of energy, this was surprising considering the context of his dreams, it was another nightmare. I would look around the room and eub my eyes before noticing noticing you, the room was scented with the aroma of kafee and buttermilk biscuits, I would walk up to you and grab a few, my mimicry needed a few minutes to an hour to warmup in the morning before i could use it. He would simply give you a nod of thanks.
Once you finish up your morning rituals and eat the tasty biscuits and drink your strange Kafee drink you head out to hunt some goblin trouble makers. You head west out of town, its a beautiful sunny day. A great day to right wrongs and make some money.
It takes barely an hour to get to the farm, located in the foothills. As you round a curve in the road, you can see the outer fence line of the farm. A large hanging sign above the entry with the words “Lazy Waft Ranch” written on an angle, as if it is falling over. The sign makes a creaking sound as it swings in the gentle breeze. You are approximately 200 feet from the entry to the property. You see a large main house of two stories along with 3 smallish outbuildings behind it. To the north of the house and approximately 50’ feet away is a massive barn. One of the doors is slightly ajar. Next to the barn is a large, well constructed corral filled with black cattle with a white band around their middle. Quite a bit different looking animal to the dairy cows you’ve typically seen in these parts. You can see a wagon with two horses attached, filled with crates nearby, seemingly waiting patiently.
Chankla would be walking next to salt peet, on the way to the location he had sharpened his twin daggers, we stood a bit far from the building as i scooped the location, maybe I could climb atop one of the buildings and do a sneak attack? There where several possibilities but the end result was the same, some gold and reputation.
"You nervous?" He spoke in the words of a schoolboy. Chankla would seem to quiver a bit.
Salt Peet says, “ no nervous, very happy to do good wurks with Chankla.”
Peet will keep his keen eyes open while you two approach the house first. The prepped horses and wagon seem to indicate someone should be home to give further instructions and details on this goblin gang.
Peets perception: 14
he will call out, “ Anyones homes? Mr O’Marley? Mrs O’Marley? Wes come to help with goblin jobs..”
( go ahead and roll your own perception when you are keeping an eye out for details)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Chankla would look around seeing the horse drawn carriage ready to leave, he wondered if the family would be leaving, 15 he would continue checking his surroundings wondering where these goblins where.
Peet notices that something is off. The faint smell of pies are in the air and as you both approach the house he notices a window is open a crack and on the ground is an empty pie tin..
As you look and listen you only hear the sounds of birds and the nervous sounds of the cattle.

Salt Peet perception: 15
Salt peet hears the sound of someone falling over in a chair and thinks he sees something sinister in the green smoke, but can’t quite make it out.
(I didnt get that message! Im so sorryyy!!)
Chankla would look around closely
