The Sun is shining on this glorious day in Knockon Wood. The town is bustling with adventure seekers from across the realm, the farmers have brought their goods to sell on carts on the main road and the miners stop in for lunch at the Flatulent Marionette. A new stranger comes from the west to seek their fortune in this fine town.
Voth walks into town, slowly measuring things with his eyes. hes about 510 wearing a cloak and leather armor. He is playing a lyre as he walks humming an old song
walks up to the inn and asks for a room. When asked how long he says that he will likely stay here for a while he likes the look of the town. Pays his three gold to get a room for the month.
I will ritually cast locate plata and if any are withn 5 miles i can find them for my healing potions
The Inn keeper and Puppet Master Juggut Whittlefinger gives you a warm welcome. “ Ahh, a fellow entertainer. Welcome to the Flatulent Marionette. Its good to have you and i hope you enjoy your stay here. Be sure to catch tonights show. It will be part 2 of the glorious story of Zargaz the Bold vs the Harpy told through the art of puppeteering with the help of our special guest bard, Burgle the Bugbear.”
His helper shows you to your room and you see the two dragonborn security doing their rounds.
Decide high or low before roll a d100 . there is 25% chance of finding the plants you need within 5 miles of town. Your spell will indicate the plants in town in the pot shop on south street if you choose to purchase them rather than gather them. There is higher chance farther from town.
Before going out of town I will ask the bartender if the road out of town is safe. Say within 10 miles of the town. I will also leave one of my daggers in my room so that I can locate object to find the town if I need to.
on hearing that it’s mostly safe. I follow road for 5 Miles and ritually cast the spell.
Chankla had been following salt peet durring this duration, "where are the goblins"?" He would say in a gruff voice, he was suprised he hadnt found them yet.

Having not detected anything within the 5 miles of town, The bar keep suggested it was fairly safe out to 5 miles but beyond anything can happen. You take advantage of the gorgeous weather and head out the south road where the forest is less dense and try your spell again ( 50% chance) 74
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
You still find nothing usable, for healing potions but you find 4 sprigs of singing nettle which is more common and useful for other potions. The healing potion plants seem to have been picked clean this close to town.

Will walk back to town and inspect the area. And eventually find a location or two that would make good shop locations. I also go to the shop in town that sells the items to determine prices.

Chankla and Peet creep up to the pit cautiously and when they look inside they see a dwarven woman cursing the fates. You assume it must be Mrs. O’malery. Peet will say, “ Mrs. O’Malery wats you doin in theses pits? We help, we help” and will pull out some rope so she can climb out.
You reach the front of the potion supplies shop, the sign is hand painted in colorful fashion with the words “ Pot Shop” and images of various potion bottles, plants and herbs and a mortars and pestle. You enter the shop and a gentle bell rings alerting to your presence. From a back room you hear a female voice say, “ be right with ya.”
the shop is 20’x20’ with the room divided in half creating a workshop space in back and the shop proper in front. There is a long counter made of glass containers holding some of the more rare potions and components. Along the left wall can be found well organized paper envelopes filled with dried herbs, flowers and other components required for making potions and salves, along with glass vials, bottles and ceramic jars of varying shapes and sizes. The variety is staggering for such a small town shop. On the right wall are shelves full of salves, potions, and essential oils of all kinds of more common types.
After a moment, a slender elven woman in simple garb and apron emerges from the back room. Her elegant elvish features and golden hair seem even more stunning in the simple dress. “ Welcome to the Pot Shop, my name is Marelle, i am the owner of this humble apothecary. What can I help you find today?”
Chankla would help pull out the dwarven woman as would look away, he wasnt too trusting of people, he would put the rope back into his backpack and let peet do the talking, he would try to remember something with his mimicry to say.
Mrs. O’Malery thanks you profusely for your aid and immediately ask, “ has me son Mikel come back? He chased after a few of them buggers, the ones riding my poor milk cow Gelda. I could hear her brass bell tinkling from my pit O’ despair…they must have gone plumb through the forest by now..probably halfway into the Wonderous Wood, Gods forbid”
She continues, “ I’ve been stuck in this here hole for at least an hour, mayhaps two…almost caught that little pie thief. I stumbled on his sneaky self when I went to fetch some water..Sucker was munching my pies, at my own table….ran off with a few of them….I hope me boy is alright, he shouldn’t have have followed into the forest.. maybe he went to town to get some help”
Salt Peet will declare with utter confidence, “ we help. Wes find Mikels, we find goblinz and make them pay for steals and troubles.”
You two head to the tree line. Once there, the hope for a quick find dissipates as the forest’s deep under growth makes finding the tracks difficult. Just before entering the forest, you do pick up hoof prints, several sets of goblin prints and the wider footprint that must be the dwarf Mikel’s boot print in the soft dirt between the grass and the trees, and see a few of the lower tree branches are snapped. Other than that, there is no sign of Gelda, the bandits, or Mikel.
The forest is dark and there is only a faint game trail from this point forward. ( roll survival check to keep on the trail)
12 (survival check) as the two continue in the woods chankla seems to haave to check if he is going the right way, he also makes sure thst the dwarven woman can find her way home before setting back off.
It is very difficult to keep on the right track and a couple of times you end up having to backtrack a bit after following one of the crisscrossing game trials by mistake. Eventually you find the remnants of a very old well. The tracks come right up to it and disappear. There is no sign of the cow and you are not sure how such a thing could go down the well shaft as it is a mere 2’ diameter opening.
Chankla would volunteer to go first as he latched the rope to the well, he would carry his dagger in his beak as he lowered himself down through the small opening.
