The other gnome, lounging now after his meal, looks over grinning. Don' speak common, those ones. Unnerstans it tho, I guess. Says they'd'a 'scaped already had they an idea how ta do it. He shakes his head, grin even wider. Betcha 10 gold they din't even put up a fight when tha drow caught 'em.

The female gnome shoots a nasty glare at the other one, but says nothing, returning her gaze back to Karys defiantly.

Edwin:

Grasping the offered paw in what he hopes is a friendly greeting, Edwin awkwardly tries to bow, saying in Elvish, “Greetings, your Highness, please forgive my lack of courtly manners.  I am but a simple carpenter.  Several of us are trying to formulate an escape plan, if you are interested in such.”

”A quaggoth prince who speaks only Elvish,” thinks Edwin to himself…”is this creature trying to fool me, transformed from an elf, or the real deal?”

Bowing deeply, Derendil waves the apology away. No need for apologies whilst in this beastly form. Of course I shall provide whatever assistance I can. I must return to the surface, to see if this curse can be broken.

The Prince has completely convinced Edwin that he is, indeed, a cursed Elven prince.

The kuo-tua shakes his head. No, no. No weapons. Never had any use for them, and never will.

The derro laughs as well, and looks around at the prisoners. Maybe...not the fish-man, for sure. That odd quaggoth keeps speakin' gibberish, for sure yes. The bug thing keeps buzzing around, might be handy in a fight. Those gnomes are a dour lot, the two siblings anyways, but can hold their own I 'spect. The orc acts like a bully but I 'spect is a coward. The little myconid...no way. That other dwarf don't trust me, but derro and dwarves ain't ever really got along. Don't matter right now, though, eh? We're innit together.

Nacht musters up all of its strength in an attempt to break through the antimagic field.

Karys sighs as she meets the gaze of the defiant gnomes. She turns back to the friendlier gnome. "Can I count on you at least if it comes to a fight?" she asks quietly. "Perhaps when the guards come to take us somewhere else. If we all act as one, we could probably overpower them."

Nacht prepares itself to blast the door, gathers energy...and fails. It feels nothing but an oppressive force binding the magic and preventing it from forming.

Oh sure, sure the gnome says easily. Oughta be a laugh, that. Betcha 20 gold I knock out more drow than you when tha time comes, eh?

Nacht dashes over as soon as it hears the word 'gold'.

"Oh, hello there," says Karys, taken aback by the strange insect creature suddenly rushing over to them. "You ready to fight?" she asks it.

Turning back to the gnome, she grins. "Ha! I like your style, gnome. I'll take that bet. But just so you know...I don't actually have any gold."

Nacht nods furiously. It projects its voice into their heads. "I can outperform each of you. Just give me a weapon."

The gnome laughs heartily. Don'tcha worry 'bout it, I'll keep track-a all that. 20 gold it is, for you and for the little bug here. As fer a weapon...work duty tomorrow, keep a sharp eye out. Maybe can nab sumthin we can use. Jimjar's the name, by the way.

Dagna gives another small nod, filing away Buppido’s observations. "Right, doesn’t matter now—right now, we just need people who won’t fold the moment things get messy." She’s about to say more when the sudden intrusion of another voice in her mind makes her pause, blinking once before exhaling through her nose. "The bug, right...I'll get back to you when we have a plan." Straightening, she turns and moves toward Nacht and Karys, tilting her head curiously.

Nacht reaches out and shakes Jimjar's hand. Its hands are strangely cold.

Yeh...ahh, got a name their bug brain? Jimjar asks, looking curiously over it, and at his hand being shaken by the thing's cold, insectile...hand?

"Nacht." The name is accompanied by strange whispers. 

Jimjar reclines back again. Nacht. Good on ya, then. We'll get sorted outta this mess.

Elspeth goes to work on Edwin's chains, in the meantime. She uses a rock to bend the broken chain back to look like it's all together, but can still easily be pulled apart now without a strength check. There...now if something happens you'll be our secret weapon. Just be careful with them.

The orc, retreated back against the wall, watches all of this while huffing angrily. The drow still sits with his back to everyone, and the gnome twins stay silent, but look on curiously.

A tiny voice enters your minds, thanks for being friends...it is scary here. The little mushroom man looks up at everyone...but without a real face it's hard to tell what he's feeling.

Nacht tries to find something, anything that could be used as a weapon.

Investigation: 7

Dagna glances down at Stool, a small, fleeting smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "Aye, little one, it is," she thinks reassuringly. She isn’t one for soft words, but even she has to admit—the tiny mushroom sprout is oddly endearing in its own way. Friends? That might be stretching things, but at the very least, they’re on the same side.

Turning her focus back to the group, she sends out her next thought, firm and confident. "The derro—Buppido—he’s in. Seems sharp enough, and I don’t think he’ll sell us out. If anything, he’s itching for a fight."
