I am starting a Humblewood PbP game that will be ran on my discord server. We had a couple people drop before the game ever really got started, so I'm looking for 1 more player for a replacement. If you are interested, please leave your character idea down below. I will give you character creation rules for those who already have the books. This adventure is the module that comes with the souce book and will take you from 1 to 5, with chance for more after if the party wants.
Here is the adventure premise:
There have been disturbing signs over the last few months, signaling that something is wrong in Humblewood. The troubles appear to originate from activity in the Scorched Grove, an ashen plain that was ravaged many centuries ago by a destructive fire. Whatever caused the fire has scarred the land with elemental magic, making it inhospitable to all but strange fire-based creatures. Of late, the Grove has begun to expand. At first, it was hard to notice the slow expansion, but those in tune with nature (especially the Tenders) could see the imbalance in the elemental forces of Humblewood. For many common folk, this imbalance has been experienced as unseasonal dryness, which has led to crop failure and an increased frequency of forest fires. There have also been a number of unusually aggressive emberbat clouds reported far outside of their natural ranges.
The increased range of emberbat swarms have brought fires that have expanded the Grove. Many forest-dwellers, who have been left without homes, have turned to banditry to survive. Soon the elemental incarnation will break free, and players must find a way to stop the aspect of fire before it reduces the Wood to ashes.

Name:Oswin "Booker" Fogthorn Race:Mistral Raptor Class:Cleric of Order Background: Sailor Backstory: Booker, a former sailor, dreamt of being a war hero. Following his wish when he was a young man, was put in a small fleet along the northern continent, far from the great Alderheart. The crew was wrecked along the northern icy coast, failing to protect them from the weather. Him, being one of the sole birdfolk on the vessel, had a route of escape. The others did not. Flying across the skies towards the south, he fled the scene and pleaded his innocence and sorrow. Those in the town of his landing, Brackenmill, had a solution. The Amaranthines are benevolent figures, and Reya, the patron of Raptors, was a forgiving face. Having little to turn to, he became a man of faith. Reya was his muse, and his service eventually led to him becoming a pastor of her will. His service eventually led to the influence of magic, and to his duty as a new figure; a member of the Perch Guard stationed in Alderheart, dedicated to service of his fellow men. Quite a step up from a humble sailor, and here he served for roughly thirty years, practicing prayer.
Now under alert of the chaos in the Scorched Grove, he and his fellow men are ordered to help survivors and issue them to flee. Reya's will tells him otherwise, why should he stand guard when there are those in the grove far worse off than he? So he sets off, donning a mere shield and enlightenment from the Explorer, searching for a troupe to join which share his goal. Stopping it themselves. Just then he'd be a hero like he wanted to be all that time ago.

HIs crew was wrecked and he had little to turn to, so he began to put heavy faith in the Amaranthines. Reya was his muse, and his service eventually led to him becoming a pastor of her will. His service eventually led to the influence of magic, and to his duty as a new figure; a lowly town guard stationed in Alderheart. Backstory: Tonnerre used to be a merchant in a traveling troupe working for Thumplis, a vulpin spice trader. One stormy night, camping on the side of pathway, it happen. The static charge in the air, which Tonnerre seemed to feel more then most, was traveling back to the pairs travel cart and lightning struck a tree that Tonnerre was passing by. The face throw Tonnerre to the ground and was knocked out cold. In the morning they found him lying there, the quils on back blacken at the tips, wisps of smoke rising from them. After that experience Tonnerre had a new found ability to control some arcane. Being seen as driving customers away by his new appearance, The 2 merchants parted ways. Tonnerre is now looking for a new way of life and deal with his newly discovered abilities.
Name: Flinred "Streetrat" Huntington Race:Jerbeen Class: Fighter: Scofflaw Background: Bandit Defector Backstory: Whilst most birdfolk perches thrives, providing peace and prosperity between its communities, the ones closest to the growing grove were not as lucky. Starvation and riots becomes the norm under one such perch. The birdfolk would not have noticed, living in their society but the humblefolk underbrush seems to be quite affected. Flin grew up in such situations ending up orphaned and in the wrong company. He joined a group of scoundrels in his young age as there was not really any other choice for a small mouse all alone underbrush. He had to survive the scarcity. When he grew of age, he realized how much he had strayed. How much he yearned for the community but not the ones he have currently. He wishes to join the guards but with his background, there was not much of a chance there. He instead, wanted to do right by the greater community. He cut ties with the group that used him and with much struggle, got away from them. He is now in the open world trying to find a place of his own. And with all the skills he have garnered, he is positive he will succeed.
