Name: Gaivax Race: human V (Sharpshooter Feat) Class: Ranger Background: Outlander (Optional) Backstory: Gaivax grew up in a small nomadic conclave of Rangers. He learned to never stay in one place, live off the land, and respect the bounties of nature. With that being said, he quickly grew dissatisfied with the way of life offered by the conclave. The conclave was a rather peaceful group, only drawing their bows when they needed to hunt. As he grew Gaivax found himself yearning for more. He wanted adventure. So when he turned 18, he decided to leave the conclave of his birth, and fulfill his dream by joining an Adventurers Guild. He was a natural with a bow so his talents were welcome. So that was his life for 10 years, going on quests, defeating beasts and bandits alike. Until a particular quest left him alone, broke, and blind in one eye (I'm being vague on purpose). Now desperate for money, he turned to the once place he knew fortunes could be made

"I cannot comment on an ongoing investigation."
"Well of course I know that. What else is there? A kitten?"
"You'd like to think that, Wouldn't you?"
"A duck."
"What do you mean? An African or European swallow?"

Accepted, Welcome to the pits Gaivax.
And feel free to enable homebrew to add the feats that you know of but don't have access to. It's a good work around to keep sheets on DDB while being free tier.
Camera pans to a man, sitting with his back up against the wall. The man did not look old, but his face was weathered far beyond his years, and a few flecks of grey could be seen in his black hair. His bare right arm rested on a longbow, while his left was wrapped from shoulder to wrist in leather straps, leading all the way up to a thick leather archery glove. His right eye was likewise covered in this lattice of straps, the braided leather falling behind him to the middle of his back.
"Damn." Gaivax said to himself. "Guess I missed the first match." Slowly, almost begrudgingly, he picked himself up to his feet. Might as well get some exercise in.
Gaivax began to jog around the courtyard (or wherever they are)
Was actually thinking about how to conduct the next one. Think I got it down.
At the center of the pits, the ceiling shifts to reveal an image once more, showing a different announcer. It waddles into view as it goes up a set of steps.
"Good evening, my fellow citizens. While I adore my fellow speaker's flair with putting gladiators against daring odds. I feel more partial to the common blood sport of combatant against combatant. To that end, the first of the gladiatorial battles shall be held by me, which I present, a Mirror Match. For gladiators to participate, they shall need a partner and no more and no less than four may participate. The battle shall be held in this arena, please see to the arena staff to be taken to the arena waiting room."
As the image fades, a grue is dropped from the ceiling, along with what seems to be some manacles. The grue fixes himself and takes the items and stands near the center of the pits.
(ain't no way there is an untitled goose dude lollllll)
Having been jogging around the courtyard for some time, Gaivax stopped when a... goose of some sort announced the next match. Not all of the details made any sense to the man, but that didn't matter. Finally, it was time for some action. Gaivax walked towards *insert name of arena staff here*
"hey... soooo i'd like to be in the next fight, and the goose with the knife told me to find one of you. So... well here I am"
Also, can I start with my familiar summoned from find familiar?

You must add the +1 from your background to a different ability score, not just the strength again.

So now we wait until the next match 😈
Yo Virst, will the next match start once the current one concludes? Or will there be multiple matches going on?

An imposing figure shrouded in armor enters the arena. (and goes to the "grue" I guess?)

The grue looks to Valiair then Gaivax before speaking in a creaky voice.
"Two of you? Allies?" It asks.
Gaivax looked at the man across from him. A paladin. Big, imposing.
Not a bad partner.
"Truthfully I've never met this man in my life. But I wouldn't be opposed."
Gaivax extends a gloved right hand to the stranger
"Gaivax, good to meet you. Let's raise a bit of hell huh?"
