The two soldiers share an uncertain look between them. The commander, however, looks at Quil. "There are three of us and one of you, boy. Do you want to join him?" He motions to the bartender, still being grappled by one of the soldiers.

"This is the first and last time I will say this. Let him go." Quil stands up as tall as he possibly can, trying to get them to let go of the bartender.
The soldiers look at each other, then drop the bartender. The commander, however, doesn't seem intimidated at all. He kicks the bartender into the counter, who lets out another cry of pain.
"Go back to serving your beers, Dwarf, this brat momentarily saved your life,"
The soldiers walk over towards Quil.
"You wanted a fight, boy? You'll learn not to mess with us Romans."
Iraneus downs a flask of ale and then stands up. The alcohol appears to have finally set in, as he stumbles towards the commander, slightly slurring his words.
"Can we please (hic) take this outside? I would love to settle this but (hic) I would hate to see this (hic) this fine establishment be destroyed in an unnecessary scuffle."
He shoots a look at the bartender, as if to say 'Get out of this while you can.'
The Roman commander snarls at Quil. “Get out of my face, you traitor.”
In one motion, he unsheathes his sword and takes a swing at Quil. Clearly expecting this, the nimble rogue swiftly brings his sword around to block the stroke. Metal clashes on metal as the rest of the tavern looks on.
(OOC: Combat has been initiated, here is your combat order):
I'm going to redo our combat system so everything goes faster. This current basic system does not seem to work in a post-by-post format.
The first person that sees me tell you to roll for initiative, just roll for the whole party. I will roll seperately for every NPC.
When in combat, this means the whole party will have a turn at once. You guys can go in any order, and I will move on either after everyone has taken a turn or after 24 hours have passed.
So in this case, because Weslockes rolled initiative first, the combat order will be the following:
The commander swiftly reacts to Quil's counterstroke, kicking the rogue in the stomach and knocking him back into a table. The table tips over from the blow and glass shatters as drinks fall to the ground.

DC: 23 (that's a nat 20 crit)
Damage: 6
(OOC: It's you guys' turn, anyone can attack)
(OOC: I'm regretting Quil's life choices right now...)
Quil will stand up (assuming he's prone, this uses 15 ft. of movement) and go after the commander (very much out for vengeance).
Shortsword w/mastery (this gives my next attack roll, the dagger as a BA, advantage if I hit)

Iraneus noticed this but averts his eyes, trying to signal to Quil to ignore the scuffle.
"Don't mess with these guys. C'mon, it's not worth it. Not here." Iraneus whispers, motioning him to sit down.
Although Iraneus is trying to ignore this conflict, his hand inches closer to his Apollo talisman.
"I stand with you Marcus" Kevinus mutters. He discreetly fingers his morningstar, preparing to fight or defend himself.

Everyone who can roll for initiative.
