You walk down a candlelit hallway, following the messenger. "I believe the council shall introduce themselves," he says. "As for your question, Iraneus, (people seem to know your name now) I cannot tell you much, but I advise you to try and not lose your cool again."
Iraneus follows, saying under his breath, "Is this about Highest Priestus? He can suck my -". He is abruptly interrupted by the people around him who are whispering and gossiping.

Iraneus scowls at him, and gives himself a mental reminder that if he wants to become a priest again he must become calm and quiet. "Do you know more about Highus Priestus? Who is the keeper, and why did he send for him?" He asks, trying to cool his temper.
You continue walking, and come to another hall, this one forks into two corridors. One on the left and one on the right. "I am only a messenger friends. We are almost there. You may ask the council your questions." You do go neither left nor right, but cross the hall to a pair of large double doors on the other side. The messenger knocks, and the door is opened by a pair of guards. You see a large rectangular table in front of you with an old-looking man sitting at the table head opposite of you.
"Thank you, Messengerius," he says, talking to the messenger. The messenger leaves and the guards exit, closing the door behind them. He then addresses you, "Welcome, friends, to the Citadel of Peace. Please, take a seat."

The old man speaks, in a slightly raspy but warm voice. "Of course, friend. I am Paullus Kleitos, but most in the Pax Romana call me the keeper. I have heard of your encounter with Highus Priestus, Iraneus. You are not here to face judgement, friends, but to be initiated into the Pax Romana, though I will say that you most certainly will face opposition. I encourage you to put aside your differences. In the Pax Romana, we may have all walked different roads, but we all share a common motivation: the end of the reign of Cassius. I will let you ask all of your questions, then you shall meet the rest of the council."

"The council is made up of the most loyal members of the Pax Romana. We all walk different paths of life, but we unite together to restore the world. I believe it is within their right to introduce themselves, however. I hope you trust me enough to meet them regardless."
"Okay, I have just one question before we go to meet the council," Kevinus tells Paullus. "if we become affiliated with this Pax Romana, will they try to prevent me from taking down Cassius on my own terms? I want to be there personally when he is rid of the world."

"We will see when the time comes, friend. We will not stop you from fighting Cassius, however. Now, as it seems like most of your questions have been asked,I shall now bring you before the Council of the Pax Romana," says Paullus. He knocks on a pair of doors opposite of the ones you entered the room through.
Two guards open the doors, standing at attention. One of them, looking slightly more inexperienced, suddenly sneezes. "Sorry, Mr. Keeper Paullus Sir."
Paullus nods to the guards and walks into a large well lit room. He walks up to a long slightly curved table, taking a seat in the middle. Beside him sit 6 creatures, two humans, two elves, a dwarf, and a halfling. You stand in front of the table.
"Welcome to the Pax Romana," says the human sitting on the far left of the table. "I am Kenobius, head sage of the Pax Romana."
The rest of the council member introduce themselves in turn. From left to right, they are Kenobius, Korinthia (halfling archer), Quintus (elf military general), Paullus, Atticus (dwarf master smithy), and Chloe (elf healer). Finally, the last member of the council, seated on the far right, pulls back their hood and introduces themselves in a voice you seem to recognize, "Hello again, friends. I am Highus Priestus, high priest of the citadel and respected member of the order of the Apollo."
"Yes, I see you have already met," says Paullus. "Now that we have introduced ourselves, however, please tell us your stories and how you ended up here in the citadel."
"Let's meet the council." Iraneus declares. "Whether we trust them or not, this seems like the only way to make progress against Cassius. I mean, what are they gonna do, kill us?" Iraneus nervously chuckles.

Quil immediately turns to Iraneus as Highus Priestus makes an appearance. "Don't do anything stupid."
"We ended up here through a strange turn of events. We met in a tavern earlier today, defending an innocent bartender, and had to flee from the scene of a fight. Meeting Justinius, a friend of the bartender's, we made our way down here. Now I ask you, what do you want from us?"

"We are here to protect you, friend," says Paullus. "But what we want to know is who you are, and what kindled your hatred of Rome, causing you to fight its soldiers in a bar. As I told you earlier, we have seen betrayals here before."
Iraneus shoots a sharp look at Quil and whispers, "The only stupid thing I could do is ignore the fact that that buffoon is on the council!". He then turns a cool gaze towards the council members, speaking clearly as if he was not just talking to Quil, "We all have motives to take Cassius down, so I'm sure we could be of service. However, I also think we could learn a thing or two. Almost all of you seem like highly experienced individuals that we could learn valuable skills from." he says, side-eyeing Highus Priestus.
"You might know me - I am Iraneus. The Valiant. And I despise Cassius. As a devoted member of the church, I have seen first hand the destruction the Roman Empire brings to temples of worship. I do not value revenge, but in order to keep these holy sanctuaries peaceful, the time comes for us to stand up to Cassius!"
OOC: Should Keivnus go on a yap-rampage and blurt out the entire backstory?
