Gareth marks the banshee as his prey, focusing his attention on the spirit despite the horde of undead that has just barged into the room. While he knows ghouls to be very dangerous, he fears this Lady Vyldara could be an even more challenging foe. He drops his torch, and it lays sputtering on the ground, still providing enough light for Lyra and anyone else who needs it to see by. Already holding his longbow in the other hand, he quickly nocks and releases an arrow at the specter.
Zephyros looks down where the ice shards of Felagi once lay. Having seen his hawk die repeatedly in the war, Ironheart remained calm and simply frowned. He never liked the feeling that such a wonderful little creature would fall- but then again, the eldritch knight knew he could simply summon his bird back to existence. Still, he thought it quite rude.
The warrior's mind snaps back to reality when the western double doors spring open. Realizing that the ghouls facing his friends could easily reach them within seconds, Zephyros quickly rushes to intervene.
The bear of a man positions himself in front of ghoul A and D, and tries to stab ghoul B.
Meiraquickly moves towards Lyra. "We should try to retreat back into the narrower hall," she calls out to both the halfling and the rest of the group. Taking a step towards the ghouls as well as she moves, she fires at one of the Ghouls. (D) (Shortbow Attack: 12, Damage: 10 piercing)
She also motions to Zephyros, pointing out how poorly the ghouls seem to be holding themselves defensively. (HELP action from Master of Tactics, to attack any of the ghouls. Note, her turn was before Zephyros, so he can take the Advantage this round, if needed.)
(OOC - I intended her movement to take her to the space just to the left of being between Lyraand Alisande.)
You move back near Lyra, bring your shortbow up, and fire an arrow at the ghoul closest to you. The arrow barely hits the ghoul in the shoulder. However, the arrow slices through the remaining tendons on the arm, sending the arm falling to the ground as the ghoul continues forward, unbothered by the lost limb.
Zephyros,
You quickly recognize the danger the undead pose to your allies and rush to interpose yourself between them. As you run directly at the ghouls, they react with an excited hunger. Unable to reach ghoul B, your strike impales ghoul A instead, thanks to your allies' assistance [[I gave the hit to you, thanks to Meira's help action.]]. Pulling your trident back leaves a gaping hole in the ghoul's chest where steel rent flesh.
Five of the ghouls turn their attention to Zephyros as he rushes forward. However, the armored warrior deftly blocks and parries the ghoul's claw attacks as they seek to devour his flesh. [[All attacks miss]]
One ghoul rushes past the others, sights set on Meira. However, its claws only get air as Meira dodges the attack at the last second.
The banshee looks down on the group of adventurers and then at the attacking ghouls, then back to the adventurers. Her expression turns to rage as she sees Gareth with an arrow knocked and pointed at her. She floats down and attacks the hunter [[miss]], the very air crystallizes and freezes around her as she moves. Just before she touches the ranger, Gareth jumps back, marking the banshee as his target and lets fly an arrow that flies through the incorporeal being, causing her form some damage.
[[Fortunately, I'm rolling terribly! Rolls are in the game log.]]
As the banshee floats down to attack the brave ranger, Azazel the not quite so brave accountant takes the opportunity to flutter back and hide behind his master, begging to get back to his book keeping.
Lady Alisande watches with horror as undead descend upon her newfound comrades. Could this have some connection to the work that mother left unfinished? It seemed unlikely - nothing about the tragedy of Axeholm indicated design, the intentional work of necromancers, only the cruelties of fate. Yet the memory of her late mother stirs within her a yearning for valour, a need to prove herself worthy after so many years squandered in vain amusement in the salons and parlours frequented by Neverwinter's high society.
The witch whirls through the air on her broomstick, weaving together silvery, shimmering pieces of thread that emerge from the tip of her wand. The pattern spirals radially like spokes on a wheel, until each rope is whisked together and launched at the morass of ghouls converging on Zephyros. The glutinous webbing lands with a splat, affixed to the flagstone floor.
Heeding Meira and Rasziel's prudent counsel, the mage retreats partially towards the portcullis, and descends to a middling height - too high for a stray ghoul arm to reach her, but not so perilous an elevation should she be knocked off her broom. Soon after, Alisande's brave kitten leaves his perch on the balcony and flies to the heart of the chamber, awaiting his next command.
Upon reaching her new position on the battlefield, Alisande draws her sword, the shining steel ringing loudly against the sheath. The echo does not die away, but instead seems to grow in volume, forming a pedal note behind which a chorus seems to emerge. The voices of ancient elves from Illefarn to Evereska, somehow enduring across time, join together in noble harmony, singing of freedom and moonlight, and the joy that comes from a lover's reunion. All the while, the sword reverberates, humming with the music that spans ages.

Lyra watches in amazement as Alisande leaps onto her broomstick and soars up toward the ceiling. So that's what the broom was for! She'd never have imagined it!
Her wonder lasts only a moment. The next instant, Felagi crashes to the ground, shattering into a myriad of ice shards. Lyra knows the familiar isn't truly gone — that Zephyros will be able to bring him back — but the sight still hits her hard.
She doesn't have time to mourn or scold the banshee, because the creatures Rasziel warned them about burst into the chamber. Gasping, the cleric takes a few hurried steps back toward the portcullis (three squares up), as Meira had suggested, and thrusts a finger toward the ghoul that lunges at her.
"Keep those claws of yours away, will you?" the cleric snaps.
Calling on Tymora's favor, Lyra summons the shimmering golden hand of her goddess next Zephyros. The hand lashes out at Ghoul A (if it's still standing), delivering a radiant slap. As it does, the ethereal fingers quiver as though in disgust. "UGH! filthy undead!", the hand seems to express.

Seeing the brave, but currently in his eyes quite foolhardy veteran get completely swarmed by the dwarven ghouls, Rasziel calls upon the powers invested in him, swiftly placing a hellish curse upon one of the restless dead before unleashing a beam of purplish fire towards it. hoping to alleviate some pressure off the bearded warrior.

He then starts to back away further north with the invisible Azazel bravely clinging on to his back.
"We can grant final rest and peace to you and your beloved. Think about what your betrothed would have wanted for you. Not this existence I would think." Rasziel calls out to the banshee, hoping he is right in his assumptions and that his words would at least bring pause to the undeads assault.
Azazel moves behind his master and clings to the scarred man's back as Ozymandias flies to the center of the room.
Alisande flies around the room before moving closer to the portcullis. As she does, she brandishes her wand and weaves a sticky webbing that covers a wide area from pillar to pillar. The web begins to cover the three ghouls furthest west.
Rasziel summons his patron's magical gifts once more. The targeted ghoul begins to glow with a dull purple hue as the hex takes hold. Followed up closely by an eldritch blast that causes a heavy-hitting force to break the monster's arm and rib cage bones. It snarls after the hit, unfeeling, and driven by a hunger that hasn't been sated in centuries. Backing away from the battle, Rasziel calls out to the banshee, hoping his words will allay the fury aimed at Gareth.
[[Typically I would ask you to use your action to speak to an NPC if you're trying to persuade or disaude them in some way since each turn is only seconds in the battle, but I'll give it to you.]]
Lyra's whispered prayer and lifted finger sends a divine spark shooting into the ghoul. The radiant damage seems to affect the creature more than expected, burning a hole through it and causing divine flames to ripple across the monster's skin. Tymora again sends forth her spectral arm at your request and slaps the ghoul in the back of the head. The head breaks off at the hit and bounces off Zephyros' shield before it, and the rest of the body falls to the stone floor.
Meira, in one fluid motion, draws her rapier and slashes at the ghoul that just seconds ago swiped a clawed hand at her. The slash deals a devastating wound to the monster, causing it to fall to the stone floor in two separate pieces.
Zephyros' trident swiftly finishes off the ghoul that had been hexed. The ghoul's broken body slumps to the ground, unmoving.
Ghoul C moves around to the back of Zephyros as his attention is elsewhere, but the warriors armor protects him as the undead claws scrape against his back. Ghoul D rips at the webbing [[Dex save 17]], easily reducing the strands to shreds as it moves forward to continue its assault on Zephyros. It surges forward and attacks [[20 to hit]] the bearded warrior with a clawed hand. [[Damage 7 and give me a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute.]]
Ghoul E also has no problem shredding the webbing strands [[Dex save 17]], but doesn't move out of the spells effect as its unsated hunger takes over the monster. It lashes out at Ironheart, but the armored warrior brings up his shield just in time to block the blow. Deep gouges across the shield are the only effect of the attack.
The banshee looks at Gareth with unbridled fury as Rasziel attempts to reason with the undead elf. The fury in the banshees eyes turns again to sadness as the banshee says, "What would you know of peace? You've broken the silence... will you also break my chains?" She floats up again above Gareth [[Gareth, you can take an opportunity attack if desired.]] now floating 30 feet above the ground and moving forward 10 feet she stares at Rasziel.
