He also whispers to Delilah that two guards will be by the entrance, two more in the Gemstone Wing and four on roving patrol. He just could not find who.
The young dark-haired lady smiles to herself as she hears the voice of her escort behind her. "I've found the tour of the museum both interesting and quite informative thank you..." She says just loud enough for her escort to hear without turning to look at him. "...in fact, you could escort me back now and we can talk about your breakfast with that elven curator." She continues quietly, then gracefully moving on outside the museum where she would wait for the charming tiefling to possibly catch up.
"Oh, I can't wait to hear all about it. I'll take my own look around and meet you outside." Mavilius moves to explore the second floor as Delilah heads out. He's never been much for history, but the fossils and preserved allosaurus are particularly interesting. Perhaps he can integrate an illusion of one into his performance.
His tail flicking back and forth in thought, he steps into the cafe. Perhaps he can gather some intel here as well.
The tabaxi presents herself for her fitting, though once again she can't help herself but be suspiciously watchful of her belongings. She's a pickpocket by trade and she won't be caught out in her own game.
"You've been super helpful, hun," she says to Hannah.
No problem, you broke up the day Exa. We'll soon have you ready for the gala. Hannah deftly sliced the back seam over her tail and tacked the hole up with pins. She threaded a needle and proceeded to sew the new tail hole with quick small stitches. Do you two want your present clothes washed?
Mavilius stepped into the cafe and watched a group of staff move the tables together to form a large buffet. The chairs were taken away leaving the luxurious upholstered sofas and armchairs placed in small groups for socialising. Cases of wine and mead were carefully stowed away. Arne the bartender from the Sage's Quill arrived with a barrel of aged dwarven spirits and set it up in the corner. Mavilius walked around and noticed a hallway in the north of the room, no-one was going down it.
"It wouldn't do any harm to have them washed. How long until we get them back? I don't think turning up to lectures in our new robes would be the best idea."
We could put them in the next wash, we've got leather cleaning soap as well. Put them out on the lines to dry, you could pick them up later today before the gala. They might still be a little damp but the wind is coming from the south and clothes on the line are drying fast. 4 copper bits each.
"Ah, ok. I'll decline too, for now, but thank you for the offer. Once we've got tonight out of the way and know what the rest of the week holds I'll come back and get them done." He pauses"I'll be glad to help out then with some work as payback for your help."
No problem, we aren't going anywhere. Hannah smiles at them, have a good evening and don't let the nobles get you down! She smoothes down Exa's robe until happy that it hung right. Good day to you both. Then she turned once more to the baskets of dirty robes and sheets and lifted one basket to her head and went to the Vat room.
Mavilius walks carefully past all the workers then turned into the long hall. The long hallway took him back towards the Gemstone Wing but from a gallery, from which he can see the allosaurus. He sniffs and screws up his nose there were 5 stalls at the end of the wall and a door. Perception check please.
Mavilius opened the five doors each was a rather smelly privie, hopefully someone would put some more ashes down them before the gala. Good place to hide though. He reached for the last door and was surprised that it opened. He could see a staircase ahead of him, all was quiet, no-one up there. Could it help with access to the Gemstone Wing?
Ironically 'looking for the privy' had been the excuse he had in mind if anyone caught him. Well, might as well keeping investigating. He heads down the staircase.
A winding staircase leads up to this cramped space filled with haphazardly stacked boxes. Starlight pour into the space through a large skylight.
Mavilius has a quick rummage but finds only supplies for events, lecterns, linens and tableware.
He looks at the Skylight it is locked and would need thieves tools to open. Peering down through it he sees a room full of tables set for the gala, cabinets containing jewels around them. He can see the Gemstone Wing!
The Bard's eyes widen with excitement. So close yet so far! He isn't so sure of his own lockpicking skills, but he is confident one of his more dexterous allies could make quick work of this. Smirking, he heads back through the cafe and towards the exit of the museum. He makes a quick stop at the gift shop to buy an allosaurus figurine to study, before heading outside to exchange information with Delilah.
As she sees the charming tiefling finally come out of the museum, the young dark-haired lady turns away and pouts slightly, showing she has waited far too long for him.

You hear the sounds of the hour being rung from the Temple District, 10 bells.

Noticing the staff seem preoccupied and the northern hallway seems curious, the tiefling attempts to slip down it unnoticed.
