The air crackles and pops and the stench of ozone permeates as the dark green energy streaks toward the goblin. It falls just short of the growling creature, exploding into the ground and sending a cascade of dirt and debris across the goblin and Paget.
Shynt'lyn: I quicky, but stealthily run up behind the nearest goblin. (Stealth check: 8). I perform a sneak attack with my rapier: to hit: 7 damage: 6. Bonus action two weapon fighting, I attack with my short sword: to hit nat 20 plus 5, damage 9.
Red Admiral: In the underbrush, I sneak 12 ft. to the right ((20+1 stealth check)), use bonus action of Hunter's Mark ((6 on damage roll)) on the red goblin, and then I will use my shortbow as my normal action ((to hit is 11+5, damage is 2+1)).

In a blur of motion the Dark Elf rogue slinks behind the scimitar wielding goblin preoccupied with Paget and debris raining down on them. Shynt'lyn thrusts his rapier at the goblin who evades the strike more by luck than skill as it shakes its body to try and flick the splattered earth from himself. Taking advantage of the fact the goblin still doesn't see him, the elf plunges his short sword between the ribs of the goblin's back and forces the blade through the goblin, impaling him. The combination of breath and gurgle emits from the creature and his body goes limp.
Shynt'lyn jerks his short sword free of the dead goblin, letting the corpse fall before the horses.
I use all 30 feet of movement to get closer to the lead goblin and cast sacred flame again. DEX save 13. 7 radiant damage on failed save.
Healerman launches himself over the side of the cart and runs closer to the skirmish. Seeing Shynt'lyn drop one goblin, the cleric focuses on an archer (goblin C) beyond the dead horses. Muttering a prayer and moving his hands to trace something in the air, a flame of radiance streaks down from the heavens. The goblin manages to move just in time as the sacred flame strikes the ground beside the creature.
[[OOC: I'll hold this action for your next turn. This first round you disengaged and moved. Up next is Paget, and then the goblins; one of which is hiding somewhere in the foliage.]]
Paget:In all the chaos and mayhem of the fighting, Paget looks around at his travel mates, aware of where they all are and lets his body relax before he goes into another sprint, sniffing out the Goblin near the trees (Goblin C), He knows that he might not get the best shot in this time, but he isn't one to hold back. Launching into a kick when he spots the goblin, extending his powerful leg out....
As Shynt'lyn wrenches his blade free of the dead goblin, Paget leaps across a lifeless horse, landing on the other side in a crouched position and immediately springs himself toward the nearest adversary. The goblin, fumbling to knock another arrow, stares wide-eyed at the fighter catapulting toward him. With precision timing, Paget extends his leg, boot heel first, into the chest of the startled archer. An audible crack, like a limb breaking over one's knee, is heard as the goblin is slammed backward, falling limp onto its back--a clear indentation impressed into its chest and blood trickling from the corners of its lifeless mouth.
The second archer, now within striking distance of Paget, draws his bow back to release an arrow at the lethal fighter. At a clear disadvantage due to the close proximity, he just manages to release the shot. The arrow slices along the outside of Paget's left shoulder, inflicting 3 damage.
From the thickets behind Paget, the hiding goblin emerges, his jaw and neck glinting crimson from the blood still gushing from his broken nose. With a furious scream he slashes his scimitar across Paget's back inflicting 8 damage.
[[OOC: For future reference, a Nat 20 on an attack is a critical hit. When this occurs, roll any damage dice twice and then add any applicable modifiers. In this case you would roll 2d8 and then add the +2. In this case, your damage was sufficient for a death blow. If it wasn't I would have rolled an additional 1d8 for you to keep it moving.
Up next are Healerman, Shynt'lyn, Red Admiral (move still queued unless you want a different action), and Rethos.]]
PAGET: The older fighter was feeling light on his feet, his sister's necklace swinging around with him, in the fight to the death. With your adrendline going, you don't really think about getting hurt, its not that it can't happen, you just don't think it will in the seconds it takes to move into action. Landing another kick, Paget felt prepared for anything but then he felt a warm burning of blood trickling down his left shoulder, going into his clothes... He winces but stands tall, going to turn when he feels a sharp pain explode into his back... "AHHHH.. " The fighter cries out, falling to a knee.. "There's.... more than we expected!.." He gets out, breathing heavy, ragged... rolling to the side.
(OOC: Thank you DM, I will remember that for the future. Hopefully i don't get myself killed lol)
Rethos:Rethos hops off the cart and moves to the right of Healerman (Total of 30ft.) then twirls his hands around, summoning 3 magical darts that circle him. He then launches all 3 darts at Goblin to the North of Paget (Goblin D).
Casts Magic Missile (All will be on Goblin D unless it dies before any of them, then redirect to the remaining Goblin)
[[OOC: Remember our initiative order. It's healerman's turn, then mine, then red, and then you. It makes it easier on the DM if we all stay in the proper order. It's also easier to strategize that way.]]
(I believe the DM is grouping the player turns so that we aren't waiting weeks or days for someone to respond. But I may be wrong. Let me know if you want me to wait going forward DM.)
Shynt'lyn: I rush up to Goblin B, using the fact that he's engaged with Paget to surprise him. (Stealth check: 22). I perform a sneak attack with my rapier (16+5 to hit. 16 damage). I use the rest of my movement to get within striking distance of Goblin D and use my bonus action to perform an offhand attack with my short sword (14 + 5 to hit. 4 damage).
Red Admiral: I sneak up to the dead horses, then I use my saved moves, (remember those high rolls I got and you said you'd hang onto for me) all on the furthest back goblin archer.
As Paget goes down to one knee, gasping and gathering himself, the rest of the party explodes into a furious onslaught of action.
The Tiefling Rethos springs from the wagon , bounding forward in a few effortless strides. Three glowing objects appear, circling around the wizard.
Shynt'lyn takes advantage of the goblins focus on Paget and in a combined skill of speed and stealth, slinks behind the archer, the drow's rapier poised to strike in one hand and short sword readied in the other.
A barely visible aura surrounds the goblin archer and Red Admiral's eyes light up as his Hunter's Mark lands upon the goblin. The half-dragon moves silently through the brush and then stands, short bow drawn.
Like a syncopated circus, all at once the adventurers strike.
Darts streak from Rethos, the first burying itself between the eyes of the bloody-faced goblin, wielding the scimitar. As the magical bolt burns into his skull, he crumples to the ground like a sack of feed falling off the back of a wagon. The other two magic missiles strike the archer in the chest, creating a sizzle and the smell of charred meat.
As the archer opens his mouth to cry out, Shynt'lyn's rapier pierces him through the back, puncturing a lung and preventing any noise from escaping. The rogue thrusts his short sword, Red Admiral's arrow strikes with a wet crunching thwack into the goblins chest, between the two scorch marks of the magical darts. The goblin convulses as an unseen force slams his body. Immediately, the tip of a short sword protrudes from his abdomen.
The goblin's head lolls forward, limp. His body remains upright only because of the drow's blades within him.
There's silence around the path. No wind stirring the branches, no birds calling, no insects buzzing. Each adventurer hears only the sound of their own breath as they look over the sight of the ambush, the massacre of the horses, the slaughter of the goblins.
[[OOC: I reached out to WildLord to see if Healerman will still be joining us. Awaiting a response, but it is a newer account. So, we shall see. We'll just roll with it for the moment. Hoping to hear back soon, because a cleric is always a good thing.]]
[ooc: If we don't hear from him, I would be willing to whip up a cleric and just play two characters.]]
Shynt'lyn: I remove my swords from the goblin's corpse and wipe the blood from the blades before returning them to their scabbards. I shoot a look back at Red. "That's why you don't rush in like that. It was an obvious ambush. You could have gotten all of us killed."
PAGET: The tall fighter sits up, bleeding, wheezing but surviving. He shakes his head. "The kid had to learn somehow. Better now with something *coughs* ahh that we can handle, you know?" He clutches at his necklace and tries to get up, but his legs don't want to move... "I could use a rest.... " Chuckling to himself, eyes closing.
Healerman, blonde hair glinting in the sunlight, moves with a measured step to Paget. The cleric's tall frame kneels at the slumped man and cups either side of the exhausted fighter's temples with gentle, deliberate embrace. Healerman's blue eyes are kind and sympathetic as he looks over Paget's wounds. In a low whisper he begins praying to the Everlight and a soft, white glow surrounds Paget as the cleric casts cure wounds+11 HP
The weeping wounds cease their flow and the flesh mends itself together. Paget is filled with a sense of rejuvenation and vitality.
As the healing is taking place, Rethos recognizes the two horses as the mounts of the dwarf Gundren Rockseeker that hired you and his compatriot Sildar Hallwinter. The saddlebags have been looted, nothing of value to be found. To the north side of the road lies an open, emptied map case
