Rummaging through the corpses of the goblins, you find a total of 19 silver pieces between the four of them. The two scimitars and two bows are well-used and poorly kept, but you could probably get about 13 gold for each one.
As you move from corpse to corpse, you begin to realize that this spot has been used for an ambush more than once. You notice more sets of goblin tracks than the four that attacked when Red Admiral sprang the ambush. Further inspection shows what appears to be tracks of two bodies being dragged into the foliage near the empty map case.
Shynt'lyn: tossing the used weapons in my backpack, I motion toward the tracks. "Whoever was ambushed here got drug that way. We can check it out, but I don't recommend we stay long. More Goblins might be on their way."
Red Admiral: "As a hunter, I know trapping skills. I can use my nets to set up net traps and capture goblins. We can use this ambush spot for ourselves, and we can ambush the ambushers." I say all this, and follow it up with an "and don't call 'little kid, big dreams' to my idea."
Paget: Making sure everything was right, he stood up and stretched against a tree, looking over his shoulder, nodding a thanks to the healing that was done. "I like the plan, we shouldn't risk ourselves again against those Goblins.. but lets not waste time with it. We have bigger things to do, the silver isn't worth the trouble." Paget says stoically.
As Shynt'lyn, Red Admiral, and Paget discuss plans, the sound of boots trodding along the road can be heard from the east. Looking in that direction, the large form of what appears to be an Orc clad in chainmail, flail strapped to one side, and a shield doffed across his back can be seen walking in your direction. He's about 150 feet away walking at a steady pace, never breaking stride as you take notice of him.
Shynt'lyn: takes one look at the orc. "Everyone, out of the ditch. Hide in the trees." Climbs the embankment and hides among the trees. (Stealth check: 18.)
Unknown Orc: He approaches the scene slowly, taking everything in before he stops about 20 feet from you, Rethos. In a cool voice he says, “Dealt with these goblins yourself, did you?” His voice is calm, but his eyes and body language show he’s ready for whatever may happen as he sizes you up.
Paget: Having seen Half-Orcs before, and fought them in taverns, Paget knew how tough they were but he was no coward. He doesn't hide from any fight. When Rethos didn't hide in the trees, he set his feet as well, and walked 10 feet to the left of Rethos, "We handled the goblins together. We have a job to do and if you make yourself a problem, orc... " The fighter's eyes narrow. "We'll deal with you too."
Healerman gets to his feet slowly. Realizing he has already been spotted kneeling in the middle of the road, he stands up holding his ground and whispers a prayer as the large mail clad figure approaches.
"We were left little choice," the cleric responds.
[[OOC: in WildLord's absence, I'm going to exercise a little authorial intervention for Healerman to keep things moving.]]
Unknown Orc: He gets a nervous look on his face being outnumbered. “Look I came here to take them out myself. They’ve been terrorizing the people in my town, Phandalin. I wanted to make sure you don’t mean the people I protect any harm, and I’m not looking for a fight if I can avoid it.”
You notice him scanning his surroundings possibly for an escape route if necessary.
Shynt'lyn: Hearing what the orc has to say, I step out of the trees and stand to the right of Rethos; slinging my bow over my shoulder as I walk. "We mean no harm to the people of Phandalin." I glance back at the dead horses. "Any chance you could help us move those horses off the path? It's kinda difficult to drive the wagon over them."
Rethos: Rethos looks to the Orc, listens to what he has to say, then glances to the horses as the mention of moving them is brought up. "Listen, I trust no one fully, not even this lot that I'm with here. As my compatriot said, if you provide us a problem, I will make sure that problem ceases to exist, however..." He then moves a little closer to the horses, looking them over one last time before turning to the group. "These horses belong to our Employer and his bodyguard. I have no problem advancing to Phandalin if that's what you all would prefer, however, I think we should follow the path off to the side, at least for a little bit... Make sure our employer didn't mean an untimely end on the road."
Unknown Orc: Seemingly satisfied with what was said, “I have no problem helping those in need. What I’ve learned about goblins is there’s never just a small group. I think it would be wise to find out what happened to your employers”
he starts to walk towards the horses to move them, “Oh the name is Rothkar, pleasure to be of service.”

Paget: A relief washes over the weathered fighter, He meant every word but was still feeling a little stiff and realizing it was a full on orc, would have made things a little more challenging. "Whatever is the plan, we better hurry. The smell of dead horses travels."

Rothkar: He becomes a little bashful as he says in a low voice, “I know I’m not as large as others, but I do happen to be a full-blooded Orc.”
