Rachus you release your wisp. The mote of light zips through the air between you and kobold striking it in the torso. A moment passes as the light begins to spark and fizz along the creatures flesh and then we a spray of gore it explodes.
Dealuri this time you do not miss. Your arrow flies straight and true, striking the kobold between the eyes and bringing it to the ground.
The battle is over quickly, the kobolds having little chance to respond to your onslaught. Thanadol has been bloodied, but perhaps a small price to pay for such a convincing victory.
The cavern yawns open before you, its sentinels dead at your feet. Is there anything you wish to do before you enter?
With concern for the cavalier caster, Skritch mindtells him, "I can cast only one more spell this day. If you need it, that can be Healing Word. Or I do have 9 Goodberries, if you could get yourself back up to a good level with them?
Skritch gives Thanadol 5 Goodberrys (each does 1hp of healing). He squats in front of the wizard and watches to make sure he eats them all down.
He loves watching people eating in fact, Skritch just loves everything about eating. If he's not thinking specifically about something else, he's probably thinking about eating.
"Num num num..." he mutters, mainly to himself, as he nods encouragingly to Thanadol.
Skritch looks for a safe place to tether the horses. Maybe just inside the cave? Maybe they have a stable or some sort of coral in there for their own beasts?
Regardless, he Druidcrafts enough straw for them to feed on.
"Methinks we'd best head in, er, asap, to get the most from any element of surprise we may have.
"What say you all?"
Then, while they chew over next steps, Skritch talks soothingly to Sunhill who he suspects has gotten used to being around the horses. "Okay, Sunny, we're all going into the underdark. Yes, you too. Who's a good boy? Who is? You are. Who's a brave boy? Yes. You are. Yes, you are..."
Thanadol you eat the berries down and benefit from their healing properties. You also (given that one berry can feed a grown elf for an entire day) feel like you have just swallowed a cart horse. Your stomach grumbles and groans but the pain from you wound does begin to recede.
Skritch you scamper up to the entrance and take a peek inside. There are no signs of movement and you can see that the cavern beyond is dimly lit by torches. It appears that you took out the guards quickly enough to not raise an alarm.
Dealuri lights a torch and holds it in her left hand along with her shield, keeping her main hand free for her war pick, when needed. Her bow is on her back. “I’m can lead the way forward,” she offers.
Vakas stands up and walks down to the entrance of the cave, having a look at the smoldering kobold bodies. “Impressive. That was.. amazing work. I had no idea that you could do that! I was expecting a tougher go than that. I agree, we must move swiftly, but did you see any of them get away, any of them run to tell anyone inside? If not, we are good until their “shift” changes, I guess.”
Vakas quickly bends down and searches through the kobold bodies, looking for any keys, any gold or anything else useful to them inside…. Investigation : 16
Then he gets into position right behind Dealuri, saying “I’m right behind you, if you see anything signal a stop and we will take them out, quickly, and quietly.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Rachus will dismount Clio and make sure that his pony has plenty of feed before entering the cave. He will forego stealth as he wonders how stealthy they can be with a torch in plain view. He settles into an uneasy wariness as they progress forward and has a hand on the rapier on his hip as if the feeling of steel gives him a small amount of reassurance.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Vakas you loot the kobold remains. Most of them are burned to cinders so little can be recovered. (With a 16) However, you do manage to find a small pouch containing 15 silver, a leather sling together with a pouch of 35 stone marbles and wrapped in thin cloth; a dried cave mushroom seasoned with salt.
As you all enter the cavern a veil of darkness seems to descend upon the party. Soft urgent whispers can be heard coming from all directions. You feel eyes upon you, fetid breath upon the back of your necks that makes you shiver and turn only to find nothing there. Thandol you would instinctively recognise this as some sort of warding ritual.
Vakas offers the sling and the marbles to anyone who can use this weapon, he prefers to stick with his short bow for a ranged weapon. He pockets the 15 silver, saying “We’ll settle this up later…” with a very reassuring tone. He wants to make sure Dealuri is using no light source, otherwise, he goes into front, his elven eyes attuned to the dark.

Dealuri gives the lead to Vakas, who seems to be comfortable in the dark, and snuffs out the torch. "Don't get too far ahead of me or I won't be able to follow you." Her footsteps become less certain in the dark and noisily kick loose a few stones as they move forward. She tries to control her breathing and starts to sniff. Maybe I can smell them before I see them, she reasons to herself, although I don't know what smell I am sniffing for. She also pulls out her war pick so she can more rapidly protect her guide, Vakas, if needed.
The warding spell sinks its teeth into you Thanadol and Dealuri. Until your next short rest you are afraid of the dark, jumping at shadows and shying away from dark corners. You are unable to enter any unlit areas, if you find yourself in the dark you will make checks, saves and attacks with disadvantage regardless of any abilities you may have to see in the dark and until you shake this feeling you will create as much light as possible to ward off your irrational fear.
OOC: Skritch when you get here remember to also roll for Sunhill, with the same consequences as above if you fail the DC of 15.
The part proceed along the wide torchlit cavern until you come to a crossroads :
To the left a wide dimly lit tunnel
To the right a narrow pitch black passage
Straight ahead the main cavern continues to snake away from you, lit by the occasional torch.
Skritch says, "what about if we start with the, er, main cavern? We were, afterall, already heading in that direction... and I think Sunhil smells, er, treasure down that... coincidentally better lit corridor."
Firebolt if required (th: 19+5=24, dam:3), but I think that may be it...
If the 7 are down, Skritch casts an eye around (figuratively) for other dangers...

"Let me, er, know."
Skritch can see in the dark. Is it possible for him to scamper up to the cave entrance and take a gander inside, look for movement?
If so, he'll leave Sunhill with the other mounts and go see what's what.

Skritch reports back what he's seen.
He suggests that they tie up their horses to the torch sconces and he'll leave them some hay, "just to get on with till we return..."
He checks his equipment then hops up a top Sunhill, whom he's fully intending to ride into the dungeon (to offset his 25' movement speed).
"Well, shall we? Time is, one must assume, if the essence!"
Dealuri lights a torch and holds it in her left hand along with her shield, keeping her main hand free for her war pick, when needed. Her bow is on her back. “I’m can lead the way forward,” she offers.
Skritch n Sunhill do their stealthy best.
Skritch: Stealth 14+1=15
Sunhill: Stealth 5+2=7 - but then I give my Ispiration to Sunhill (if I can) so it becomes 19+2=21...
(OOC: DM, happy to go by ur call on mechanics like this)
OOC: Happy for you to pass the inspiration on to the dog. I'll give Rachus and Vakas some time to chime in and will then update :)
