Having been more focused on the basilisk than what is inside the house, Vark also sprints after the creature, seeing Dorno and Hurrig in pursuit. He runs as fast as he can, through the gate near him, into the fenced in area. As he runs, wisps of cloud begin to rapidly form around his body. Suddenly Vark is gone, and a similar cloud appears 30 feet away on the other side of the fence, from which Vark bursts out with a soft rumble of thunder.

With the others handling the more pressing threat of the basilisk, Bründir seizes the opportunity into the cabin. The basilisk was important, and potentially losing another of Korinn's sisters was more than aggravating, but he didn't want to run the risk of assuming she was gone. Magic was foreign to the dwarf, but he knew it could be deceptive in the right hands.

The basilisk stops suddenly in confusion as it sees the translucent spirit bear appear before it. It sniffs at it twists it's stubby neck to glance over its shoulder at its pursuers, but all are too far away for it to use its weapon on. Instead, it turns and lunges at the spirit bear, but its jaws pass straight through the spectral creature.
As spider Dorno clears the fence and works his way around some sort of strange nest he sees open ground between him and the basilisk and takes one long bound through the air, during which he transforms into a cougar and accelerates down the hill. Wary of the basilisk's ability to turn him to stone, the cougar heads for the tail of the preoccupied monster and leaps for it, claws and teeth latching on to their prey's hind quarters, all the while hoping to avoid its gaze via the flanking approach as well as closing his eyes during the final moments.
Val rushes into the small cabin and flips the rug up, revealing the trapdoor beneath. With ease she yanks open the door and immediately begins descending the ladder into the darkness beyond. Once below she draws out a torch and sparks it up, illuminating the tunnel and cavern... "There's a tunnel down here that opens up into a cavern. Quickly now!" Before anything more can be said she rushes off into the cavern... and immediately spots the glinting of eyes just beyond the flickering corona of light from her torch. She shifts her stance and readies for a fight. "There you are, *****. Give up now and tell us where we can find your sister, and you might survive this." Her breath begins to fog in the dank air of the cavern as the temperature immediately around begins to drop as the icy rage starts to set in...
Hurrig continues his chase, he watches Dorno shift into the cougar and grapple the beast, “Thatta boy, Drono!”
When Hurrig gets in range he turns around and uses the mirror to guide his gaze. Hurrig grabs his holy symbol from around his neck and in Dwarvish says “Blind this beast Moradin, so we may get back to the others.” The symboly glows a radiant light in Hurrig’s hand. At that same moment a bright light fixates itself upon the head of the basilisk, casting shadows in all directions. The light dissipates and the eyes of the basilisk glow in that same light.

"Yes!" Vark exclaims as Dorno's distraction and grapple are effective. As he closes the distance, he whips out his mirror resisting the urge to look right at the beast. He freezes once he is within thirty feet and aims his staff at the basilisk without hesitation. A crackling arc of lightning jumps to the creature, beginning to singe it's flesh and sap its strength. It's then that he realizes it's only the three of them attacking the creature, and he grows worried. "Guys! The basilisk!" he yells at the top of his lungs towards the cabin.
Bründir comes rushing down the ladder behind Val as quickly as he can, but spots the menacing threat before his ally had. Carefully, he stepped up behind her and pushed a flask into her open hand, "Oi, Val, throw this when I give the signal an' run. Ye're just outside Momma an'er babies' each it seems." He pulls out another flask from his belt, "Aim fer the middle one when ye do."
" 'Ey!" He calls into the cavern, "Who're ye behind those scaly shits?!"

Behind Vark, the blue dragonborn suddenly appears in the mouth of a nearby cave. She swirls her hands in a circle and a putrid cloud of stinking gas forms around him, Hurrig and Dorno.
Vark, Dorno and Hurrig must make a DC 13 constitution save against poison or lose their next action.
Set upon from behind by a wild predator and blinded by the might of Moradin, the basilisk begins to panic and gives in to its baser instincts. With a chomp of its powerful jaws it clamps down on the cougar's front leg, which twists and shifts as Dorno is forced back into his firbolg form, the lizard's poison burning in his veins. As the beast opens its mouth, releasing the druid, the blinding light in its eyes fades as the effect of Hurrig's spell dwindles.
Beneath the hill, Valaith sees many of the eyes reflected in the torchlight turn and vanish into the darkness. Bründir, his dwarven eyes piercing the shadows, can make out how the smaller lizards scatter and flee into the tunnels to the left and right. Behind them the strange gnome whispers out of the darkness, sending forth golden tongues of magical light that swirl about Valaith's body, making her a beacon for all to see. The larger basilisk begins to charge and bites down hard on the goliath's armoured torso. The mithril protects her from a serious wound, but one razor tooth finds a gap and the monster's poison runs excruciatingly across her skin.
Dorno is knocked out of wild shape and takes 16 vigour damage, leaving him at 20/24 vigour.
Valaith takes 19 vigour damage, leaving her at 16/35 vigour.
Overground: Dorno's action, then Hurrig's action, then Vark's action.
Dorno suffers through the pain of the basilisk bite and is forced out of his wild shape. The firbolg almost loses his grip on the the creature during the change but manages to hang on, keeping his eyes closed and coughing from the gas cloud all the while. He fails to pin the monster, however, and thus is left doing little more than perhaps holding it in place. With despair the gentle giant calls out "friends, help!" "Thump it good! Must help elf friends and stop rabbit friends from being stone!"
"I'mma comin Dorno! You just hold tight." As Hurrig says that, he grabs his holy symbol and says a few words and a giant floating blacksmith's hammer appears above the basilisk. The hammer swings down onto the basilisk as Dorno wrestles the beast. Through the mirror, Hurrig sees the hammer make contact. "Hahaha Take that ya filthy animal!" Hurrig exclaims as the holy symbol around his neck glows again and the basilisk is engulfed in holy flame.
Bründir bites the cork stopper on a clay flask as he braces a hand on Val's back, "Drop the torch when I give ye the sign- NOW!" The dwarf sprints back to the ladder with an oily puddle left in his wake. The goliath warrioress gives a panicked glance when she realizes her ally is suddenly gone. She waves her flaming brand at the basilisk once more to give it pause before following close behind. After a few steps, she lets the torch slip and the floor erupts into a wall of blue and orange flames.
As fire sweeps through the tunnel and heat presses against her back, Val can hear a voice calling from the shaft of light ahead, "Val! Val! Get up 'ere an' ye'll 'ave first go at clubbin' his dragon *****'s head in! Double-time an' I'll throw in a cask of that mead fer ye too!"
